Thank you Britain. This makes me even more proud to be British. A Queen who unites us as a nation in difficult times, and our people who stand together to remember past heroes and celebrate our current ones. You make me cry tears of joy, pride and humility. What a great nation. Thank you.
Y'wot?! I took an ancestry dna test and I had over 20,000 matches, many of which proves that my ancestry on paper is not as "clean" as it seems. Many Brits in centuries past have hidden countless sexual flings, affairs and more secrets right to their grave until today, where I've come to realise the nationalistic fervor is nothing but a cover.
I can't let this day go by without remembering...I was seven years old...didn't really know then the significance of it all. Tonight I'm crying like a baby with gratitude for those who paid the price...
I am Canadian ! My mother sang this song while my father was in Europe during WW2, for 2.5 years. At 96, she now lives in a Nursing home. As soon as we can visit, I will make sure that she listens to this beautiful rendition.
From Portugal to everyone in Great Britain this is a beautiful version of the fabulous Dame Vera Lynn song. You should all be very proud. God bless Great Britain.
I like this! I am an American and a great admirer of the British people. I certainly appreciate your stalwart, courageous character and EVERYONE in the western world especially should be thankful for the extreme sacrifice your nation displayed during one of the darkest periods of the last century. I admire your Queen for her unwavering sense of duty and commitment and for her gracious, dignified manner.God Bless.
Even though I'm an American I sang in solidarity with all of Britain earlier. I just now saw this video after watching the queen's speech and started crying and singing all over again .
Here's hoping her songs can invigorate many generations to come. If our more ancient songs can still strive in these ages then hers should cope well as long as people can understand our English and translate it.
Very sad to hear Dame Vera Lynn's passing. A legendary singer who still inspired us more than 70 years after she first recorded this classic song. May she rests in peace....
I’ve known the lyrics to this song since I was about 7 years old:.. it’s always been my grandma’s favourite song, she was 8 on VE Day, her dad was a LCPL in the royal logistic corps during ww2.... my husband is now a LCPL too. My grandma is now in a care home because she has Alzheimer’s, she tested positive for COVID19 this week, I’ve listened to this song so many times, I’m praying she pulls through so we actually get the chance to meet again, even just one more time! The care assistants are absolute angels! Keep fighting grandma so we can meet again!
This is amazing, I feel privilieged to be fluent in english and to have spent those years there, in Kent, where I learnt so many things I see just in this beautiful video. We'll meet again some sunny day, from a french girl with a french and british heart. I cried my eyes out too
Mine started serving at the end of the war. Very proud of everyone who has been brave enough to serve our country, whether on the battlefield or at home.
Nothing wrong with John Lennon's song Imagine. The song is a classic just like We'll Meet Again albeit from a different era. It's comparing apples to oranges, they're both great songs.
I am Canadian. I was diagnosed with COVID 19 in April. In quarantine this song helped me get through the worst time in my life. I played this song over and over. THANK YOU GREAT BRITAIN!STAY POSITIVE AND STAY STRONG! We will OVERCOME the terrible virus

I have always loved this song, and Dame Vera, it makes me think of the sacrifices my parents generation went through. You have given it an added meaning of hope for these tough times. Thank you.
I remember my late mum telling me of when she was a child going to the railway station in Newcastle to see her father off to war. Her father was a 39 year old career solder who had joined the RAMC as a boy - it was 1939/40 and the British Army was moving to France. He was later evacuated from Dunkirk and survived the war rank Captain. My mum spoke of how the train station was filled with thousands of troops and after emotion had prevented her from speaking more, I realised she was trying to tell me that the soldiers had all began to sing.
I found it so emotional reading all the lovely comments from people from all different nations. Thank you so much. I have so much love and respect for you all, we’re all in this together and I can’t wait to visit some of your beautiful nations when this is all over.
I live in the USA but I am still British from Belfast N.Ireland. I am so glad Dame Vera Lynn lived just long enough to see the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Her song “We’ll Meet Again” is just as powerful, emotional and moving now as it was then, so many years ago now. She was the last well known person from the war still living on the anniversary and before too long the War will have passed from memory of anyone living today into history.
The day before Vera died my Mum and I were talking about amazing people like her and I said 'wouldnt it be awful if such a treasure died'. I know it wasnt my fault but I was devastated when I heard
We knew something was gonna happen, but hadn't expected this... Nor all the fly pasts over each city. Dame Vera is 103. Katherine Jenkins OBE also gave a concert at The Royal Albert Hall. Brexit or Coronavirus doesn't mean in any way that we won't meet again.
I agree with the sentiment. But conflating Brexit with an international virus pandemic which is causing hundreds of thousands (at least) of people worldwide to die, and many millions more to suffer illness, seems kind of silly.
Rest in Peace Dame Vera Lynn. Voice of an heroic generation.
Indeed did very well to get to 103
She did very well and had one long life. R.I.P Dame Vera Lynn
I made a special video dedicated to her. please comment and share what you think.
