Palpatine makes sense since that story has been around since I was in middle school back in 2000. Disney just did of lazy job of presenting why, in the books Palpatine had several clone bodies ready for him. When vader killed him he just transferred his consciousness to another body. Remember it is science fiction something fast and the furious is not suppose to be.
Another plot twist would be that Dom has two identical brothers named Xander Cage and Riddick. Possible title for a new movie: "Xxx: The Fast and the Furion" 😂😂😂
F&F could have ended perfectly at 7. That ending was touching and tastefully done, something you would expect from an Oscar winning film and not a popcorn flick. As you said, the action was within a tolerable limit. And the Paul Walker - Vin Diesel duo was the glue that was holding the group together. For me the franchise ended even before 9, at the 8th movie. I went to the theater and left pissed off. It was soulless, it took itself way too seriously without much fun moments, the plot is a mess where Dom is the bad buy and the killer of Han joins the family, no practical effects but over the top CGI action which you would expect in capeshit. They already had jumped the shark in that one. I never bothered to watch FF9 because the reviewers had finally caught on on the carnage and it seemed to be even worse.
My dad has always loved the FF franchise, even when the story is getting weirder he still think they're good. A couple of days ago we went to watch F9, on our way home he finally said, "Fast and Furious has become ridiculous don't you think?"
My favourite is still Tokyo Drift, even if the characters aren't great. The franchise has lost focus after Fast Five. It went from street racers/thieves to basically the Suicide Squad
The only good character in Tokyo Drift was Han which is why I'm glad they brought him back for the later movies. Everyone else I couldn't really care about, just enjoy watching Tokyo Drift for the cool cars and action scenes.
It’s funny to think he wasn’t even really DK anymore since they infer that Dom beats him in Tokyo Drift which is basically right after he becomes DK. But no hate to Lucas Black but what makes it hilarious is he absolutely does not come off as rocket scientist intelligent 😂
No it was over in the fourth one when The Rock slammed Vin Diesel's head into a classic muscle car made out of steel and dented the s*** out of it but left him unbruised
@@noone-ss8lu The fourth one didn't have The Rock in it. I don't remember that moment exactly, but I assume it's in the fifth movie during the scene when The Rock finds their location in Brazil and then destroys Dom's Charger. After which the two start fighting.
@@tomatodamashi YOUR'RE RIGHT I CHECKED. I haven't watched any of them before 6 in a really long time, i just remember it was their first fight. the point is the rock still cant slam Dom's head in to a car, smash the car and still not knock him out cold. his skull would crush before denting steel.
In the first movie Dom gets badly injured from a roll over crash, and rightfully so. Now he's stomping on concrete and making it crumble. It's like the movies arnt taking place in the same universe
Fast five was the peak of the series. It brought the "universe" together, had a desperate group use all their skills and smarts to steal money to live off and the ending where brian asks dom for one last race just to race really makes you feel some kind o way
All they've done is basically remake Fast Five four times now, getting more and more ridiculous along the way. Fast Five was big enough. It didn't need to get bigger and stupider.
My favorite scene is when Dom perfectly calculated how to snag his rear tire on a normal rope of a broken bridge to swing his car like Tarzan to catch a moving plane. And definitely wouldn't just snap the rope or tear off his axel at worse and send them plummeting off a cliff
I just saw f9 yesterday 😭🤣 I gotta say it was the funniest shit ever made 😂 especially when they went to space i lost my shit 💀 😭 get ready for 10 and 11 as they go back to the future
The movie was fine but going to space was tooo far. And despite the fact that Ludacris says as long as we obey the physics it is fine, many of the places physics was non existent. The story and the movie was meh
Yes! I'm 100% convinced it's actually all satire that's just making fun of their own entire franchise. Especially with Roman gaining self awareness lmao
@@advaithkarthikeya957 nah bro the movie literally commited suicide if u watch the entire franchise beginning to end you'll understand what I'm talkin about. this didn't just take a step away from where it started it's done ran off a fucking cliff
The biggest suspension of disbelief isn't even Han being alive, it's Tyrese Gibsons character being literally invincible and knowing he can't die, even when surrounded by AKs blasting directly at him.
And yet Jesse was killed by Uzi’s with no accuracy at all smh now they should have kept him alive he was an awesome character and Leon and Vince were great characters too but they didn’t get character development at all neither did Suki or anyone from the first two except Brian O’ Conner really
@@arcticwolf8150 Vince did get somewhat of a short redemption arc. He was taking care of his own family and tried to help Dom and the crew before he was killed.
Basically everything after 4 or 5 has been fan fiction, the series is absolute garbage lol nothing wrong with enjoying but it is most definitely shite.
Call this movie "Marvels: The Furious Riders" because nobody ever dies. I got a theory, this whole franchise was injected with the super soldier serum.
It would made more sense now why Roman would say how they somehow magically ALWAYS survive and never die. My boy there was shot by like 10 different people, managed to shoot them off with his pooring gun skills and make it out alive with couple of bruises. That potentially be confirmed in the last movie how they all freaking survived literally the world rising against them.
And also how the expression " You dont turn your back on Family" is widely throughout the entire franchise, only to find out that Dom had in fact turned his back on family.
Dom was even at fault turning his back on him since their father’s death was in fact an Accident. He knew nothing about his father and just assumed his brother intentionally killed him based on some fuel line analysis BS. This movie was sooo disrespectful to the franchise.
@@IRONHIDE110 Agreed. A slap to Paul Walkers face too. I hate they are attempting to bring him into the story after his passing. THey should have left it the way it was, him driving his white supra off into the sunset. How much you bet they try to bring Jesse back, i mean the brought back Han with the worst explanation of faking ones death ive ever heard. Hell might as well bring Johhny Tran and Lance back as well.
@@LaserDaveToast Man you get it. I was surprised/disappointed that people were saying " ohh I got goosebumps and this is awesome " , yet to me the way they portrayed Brian like he was some babysitter while letting his wife risk her life " if there was such a thing in this franchise anymore " just to conveniently join the party after all said and done, was just super disrespectful to his memory. I mean how hard can it be to just let him go, give an explanation somehow in the movie to which his character just passed away ? Or maybe that's just me 🤷♂️
@@IRONHIDE110 I totally agree. His send off with the white supra was iconic. They could have incorporated little memory nuances of him, i hate they are attempting to bring him back. I would have accepted his brother even being a character instead of the whole toretto brother thing they did in this film. This is what happens thought when you have actors like Vin Diesel who are beefin with the rock for stealing his spotlight. You get a rushed film that makes zero sense to the plot and timeline. I should have been a movie critic. This is why i have a ton of Respect for directors like Christopher Nolan or James Cameron. They take their time to get it right, even if it means delays. Fast 9 was just a way for the actors to get a fast paycheck and it shows. I read somewhere that the next film should be the last film of the franchise. And after this last one they need to call it quits or get a new director.
The thing that annoys me the most is my favourite movie was f3 not just of the series, but ever. I remember being upset that Han died and the story was gripping, now he’s not dead and it makes me not feel the same feelings that I had
I remember watching the first 30 minutes of TD and hating it but laughing at how bad it was... and by the time I walked out of the theatre I was loving it
great comment except he made it past the train... but promptly tried to make his charger french kiss a Peterbuilt and the Peterbuilt wasn't having it... (it might not have been an actual Peterbuilt)
@@nevillemathew6521 according to everything i hear online, i can at least assume to assure that that's not the case. so many people are mad over the ff series going downhill. but maybe we're just the loud minority
Wait a minute...these people were just regular mechanics stealing Panasonic radios and shit? I thought these guys were the Avengers. Then that means Mario really is just a plumber.
Fast and Furious is a super hero series with very clear rules. So long as characters are touching a car, they are invincible, and gain genius level intelligence to solve problems with the car.
In keeping up with the tradition of wrestlers entering the Fast franchise, ladies and gentlemen Stone Cold Steve Austin will star in F10 as Dom’s distant cousin Tommy Toretto.
The really sad part about F9 is even the cast members don't seem excited about it anymore. It's just a paycheck for everyone involved. After Furious 7, it's just been diminishing returns recycling the same plot from Fast 6. Fast 5 was a refreshing twist to the series by having the series turn into a heist movie, but it was just for their personal gain, not for the stakes of the world. The series just hadn't been the same without Paul Walker, and I think it's time they recognized it and work towards ending it on a high instead of trying to squeeze more out of it.
If anything they should have brought back Paul Walker with the special effects as before. He's what made these movies series worth watching. I honestly could care less about Dom and his past
The fight scene at the end where Dom is outnumbered like 20 to 1 and somehow escapes.. twice.. Then pulls two chains ⛓ like he’s the Incredible Hulk and the whole cellar comes crashing down.
Tbf he did try with star trek beyond, which while I enjoy I feel the lack of box office put a bit of "stink" on his name which is why he came back to the fast saga, but he has also done a bunch of t.v. pilots and produces them so it could be that hes slightly stuck which is a shame cause I do enjoy his stuff
@@yeahmhmmrightokaymhmmyeahsure watch the movie...then you will get it....it is so stupid that it even lacks the fun of regular fast and furious movies.....
You know, back in high school I discovered Vin Diesel Facts. This was in 2005, and I do believe they predate the Chuck Norris facts. Same shit but the Vin Diesel facts didn’t have the roundhouse kick meme to lean on so they always weirder and funnier.
Nah. I’ll take Chuck all day. Those Chuck Facts existed way before them Toretto facts. If granted by meme fate, Chuckie will eat Toretto for breakfast always.
I remember hearing an interview from Vin Diesel when Walker passed, my personal (Probably incorrect) insight is the notion that he really wanted to do 8 because Walker really wanted to, and then Universal saw that 8 was still profiting with a decent margin and decided 9 was justifiable. As he said, "If 7 is for Paul, 8 is from Paul". The problem is franchise fatigue kicked in with 8, and despite Universal putting off 9 to try and give time for spinoffs, it shows that you're just eventually gonna run out of ideas to make the franchise feel fresh. It's still amazing that the seventh installment is extremely highly regarded, a feat that's not often heard of, but it still shows even the best have their limits
As I was watching the movie, Dom asks his son “where is God.” And so he responds by touching his heart. And then Dom says “I’ll always be in your heart.” My theory? Dom is God.
Series won’t die if ppl keep turning up and paying money to watch it. Doesn’t matter if the opinions after the fact are unfavorable. If ppl keep going and watching, even out of curiosity, or so they can have some content to post to their channel when they rant (see above)…then prepare for more of the same cycle in a few yrs w/ the next movie is released.
Previous films were still believable and plausible, such as Brian in the Lykan Hyper Sport jumping from tower to tower, the entire crew bringing the down the giant cargo plan with their cars, or Luke Hobbs redirecting the torpedo into the enemies truck, but Fast 9 literally took out of bounds. From Tyrese somehow avoiding all AK point blank shots, Dom and Letty being able to escape in the Charger across the mountains by having a hook strapped onto a rope or Dom flipping the truck that crashes onto a jet and being able to jump on time and survive.
Remember when the first Fast and Furious movie was about an undercover cop trying to take down a heist crew by joining an illegal street race? Yeah, a LOT has changed over the past 2 decades.
The movie studios just can't help themselves. They make em and people pay to watch em. I remember the same thing happened to Aliens, Predator, and Die Hard. They thought they had to keep outdoing the last movie in terms of audacity. They'll reboot FF. It'll be with an ethnic lesbian as the lead.
It was dope when y’all was racing in the streets and in the trenches in rio and Tokyo, and how y’all made the story’s twist from future movies, now this franchise on some bs transformer bs🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Facts I was like dam I’m not even a big fan and my favorite part was a 30 second clip of granny drifting I think the action is cool and all but they don’t even race anymore
Y’all talk about street races in the franchise like it was the biggest deal in the world😐. The only movie that touched street racing was Tokyo drift. It’s not that deep😐
FF was officially over for me when Dom turned into a mini hulk stomped the ground and leveled a car park! The franchise became more about superheroes than street racing a loooong time ago.
Furious 7 should have been last installment from Fast & Furious Franchise as Tribute to Paul Walker and Arc Ending for Dom Toretto & Other Characters also. But Vin Diesel & Universal Pictures crushed F&F Reputation by making such a big mess like F8 and now F9. I can't believe Justin Lin who made genre changing movie like Fast Five directed this franchise killer.
Remember several years ago when "they'll go to space" was just a meme? The studio is really out here using memes as ideas lmao! I even heard they are "considering" a FF+Jurassic World crossover lmfaooo
Aside from Fast Five, Tokyo Drift is my favorite Fast and Furious movie and is by far the best usage of Han. Am I in the minority on this one? I kinda wish the movies would go back to basics.
Fast Five should have been the finish. Everyone got rich. Dom had finally moved on from Letty becuase he still thought she was dead. Brian and Mia started a life. Han and Gisele moved on and traveled. Tej got his dream garage. Roman had the life he had been chasing from day 1. All there names were cleared and could have settled anywhere they wanted. They continued and in F7 the final moments was the 2nd time they could have had a perfect ending and then once again they ruined it. They just became greedy and wanted to squeeze out every last penny. I was a huge fan of this franchise but now I don't even care if another come out because they have become horrible.
@@myaccount__7269 nah I'd say it's the exact opposite, F8 was already the opposite of what this series started as and had nothing interesting about it, F9 is so far from the series and has such stupidly impossible things in it it's fun to watch
10:21 6 movies yes but Tokyo Drift is actually the 6th movie in the timeline. The order goes Fast & Furious 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 3, 7, F8, H & S, F9 so far. So Han has only been dead for 3 movies and about 4 years in universe
We loved Brian, we loved Han, we loved Letty and we felt their loss. Pretending it didn't happen cheated the fans of that feeling. I think they had an opportunity and missed it. Imagine the story continued and characters kept dying off, starting with Tyrese for believing he was invincible, and eventually all the others leaving Dom to sacrifice himself for his kid, cause "Family" ... perfect ending.
I'd love for them to do an early 00's FF again. I mean, that was the best time for it. Use the same cameras, add the film grain. The music, clothes, cars. I'd be so about it.
I just saw Justin Lin's 1st film Better Luck Tomorrow and it's a great indie film. I wish he can go back to more personal projects because he is good director.
He is actually a good director, FF 3 and 5 were awesome (and he has produced that show Warrior, which proves that he has hunger for good content). it's just a shame that he got stuck in the franchise corporate business, he is just keep making these movies, and they are turning into garbage one after the other. as the quote said "You either die as a hero or live enough to see yourself as the villain". he should've stop making these movies after 5, and focused on other projects. 5 was the peak of this franchise. now he is only ruining his own image as an director
yep the stunts and all were too far gone even by the 7th movie YET it was still watchable and his character combined with the rest gave that "life" to the series. you still felt it was a FF movie you were going to see. I haven't even watched any of the movies since number 7 in full length. am I missing something lol...
As with all action movies, each sequel feels like it has to top its predecessors. By the time you get to the 9th installment, you get over the top antics that just feel ridiculous.
Mia: I'm going to fight terrorism, even though I'm not trained to do anti-terrorism shit. Brian: OK, I'll just stay home with the kids. Bring some Lunchables home on the way back.
What no one really has talked about when reviewing F9 is the little amount of car stuff in the movie. There is only about five cars in the film that are either notably cool or important and one actual street race which was a flash back
They should have ended it when Paul died. That ending was really emotional. Made me go back to my youth. It was like a sealing to a period of my life...
Paul Walker was the glue that held the series together. I think because he was an actual car enthusiast, he kinda kept things focused on the cars and bit more realistic. Once Paul died, it's like no one in the franchise knew ANYTHING whatsoever about cars and didn't even care to try to make it realistic. I havent even seen f9 after my brother told me about it, I couldnt bring myself to sit through it and definitely am not paying for it.

I’m calling it now, Fast and Furious 10 will have Danny Trejo as Dom’s dad 🤔

Me too, along with the first Fast and Furious.

Dom was even at fault turning his back on him since their father’s death was in fact an Accident. He knew nothing about his father and just assumed his brother intentionally killed him based on some fuel line analysis BS. This movie was sooo disrespectful to the franchise.

As he said, "If 7 is for Paul, 8 is from Paul". The problem is franchise fatigue kicked in with 8, and despite Universal putting off 9 to try and give time for spinoffs, it shows that you're just eventually gonna run out of ideas to make the franchise feel fresh.
Yeah, loved Star Trek Beyond too.
This should have stopped at F8 Dom living with letty and his son. End of the story. No hobbs and shaw just,F8 was the perfect ending
Can't wait for the FF crossover with Sharknado titled: FF Jumping the Shark
Oh GOD
Michelle was hinting at a Jurassic park cross over no joke
Exactly what I thought walking out the cinema! FF has jumped the shark
They already jumped the submarine
eeeeeeeehhh dont insult THE cult moviefranchise like that (im speaking of Sharknado ofc...... ff just is crap)
It’s been done ever since Paul passed away.
yep the stunts and all were too far gone even by the 7th movie YET it was still watchable and his character combined with the rest gave that "life" to the series. you still felt it was a FF movie you were going to see. I haven't even watched any of the movies since number 7 in full length.
am I missing something lol...
@@sanctuaryism spot on bro
FF was a story about a cop who joined a family of street racers. Should have wrapped it up
As with all action movies, each sequel feels like it has to top its predecessors. By the time you get to the 9th installment, you get over the top antics that just feel ridiculous.
Wasn't really an action movie in the first place :(
How did it gross $799 M ? Does this mean the franchise is finished commercially or as an artistic expression ?
People will still go for F10.
Movie was so confusing, It looked like “Brian” was baby sitting and let her wife go fight for the world 🤯
I thought they were going to have Jakob kill him off to help drive the plot forward.
Is a way to say that Brian is better trained to protect the kids.
She went cause jakobs her brother, Brian would only come back if it was REALLY important
Which we all know, Brian wouldn't be cool with that.
Mia: I'm going to fight terrorism, even though I'm not trained to do anti-terrorism shit.
Brian: OK, I'll just stay home with the kids. Bring some Lunchables home on the way back.
This movie series died the moment when The Rock turned a moving torpedo with his own bare hand
Oooo shut up geek
Burn
I mean thats the only thing that makes sense, its fucking the rock you know 😁
For real I remember the last movie I seen I busted up when I realize they made the rock a superhuman 😂
@White Liberals Bad I agree with your name
Can we talk about how Roman is basically John Wick in this film now?
Not even close to that. But Toretto is a superhero now I guess
@@nms7872 In the first jungle mission, Roman was surrounded by 20 soldiers and was able to take all of them out by himself.
@@AyyGin I think that might’ve been Han but I’m not gonna really excuse it
@@ninjanibba4259 Definitely wasn't Han. He didn't show up until the second half of the movie lol
@@AyyGin I mean him with the sniper riffle like in Tokyo
I stopped at F7, after Brian left. This franchise should have called it quits too...
Furious 10: We find out that Dom’s Father was also a Genetics scientist who secretly injected Dom with an enhancement serum at age 4
Don't give them idea's bro, they already established a FUCKING super human in this franchise.
Plus his father is alive and he became a villan
His father was there since the first movie. We Just couldn’t see him.
@@peacefulman9369 oh wait, maybe he is his own father😝
Dom's dad will be played by Mickey Rourke.
The next Fast & Furious film is going to be called "Slow Down".
Slow and Sloppy
FasTen your Seatbelts.
Slow & Calm: Kia drift
And they're all old
Ball Fondlers
What no one really has talked about when reviewing F9 is the little amount of car stuff in the movie. There is only about five cars in the film that are either notably cool or important and one actual street race which was a flash back
bro he literally just cried about not liking the movie.
They should have ended it when Paul died. That ending was really emotional. Made me go back to my youth. It was like a sealing to a period of my life...
Lmao I just realized, Torettos brother was always there you just couldn't... SEE HIM..
😆Classic🤣
I love and hate this comment. How is that possible? 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
But why couldn't anyone hear him?
Paul Walker was the glue that held the series together. I think because he was an actual car enthusiast, he kinda kept things focused on the cars and bit more realistic. Once Paul died, it's like no one in the franchise knew ANYTHING whatsoever about cars and didn't even care to try to make it realistic. I havent even seen f9 after my brother told me about it, I couldnt bring myself to sit through it and definitely am not paying for it.
You think Paul was in the writers room or editing room ?
@@daedae1522 it's possible.
I watched the movie some days ago pn UA-cam for just $5 lol. Not worth more than that.
SAME. Never cared about it nor will watch it. If my GF or my kids ever pester me about it, sure. But I wont voluntarily.
