I like your points of view Jon, Vinfast is getting better every single day. They have been capturing all the distributed feedback from end users and reviewers to improve their EVs. Thanks, Jon, keep up the good work.
Thanks.
I've come to the conclusion that, at this moment, an electric car is not a great choice for many if they are only going to own one car. But it can be a good option for a family that already has an SUV with a gas engine. The SUV is used to go on trips, has lots of space, and is the main vehicle the family uses. The EV can then be used to commute to and from work and run some errands. You don't need much range for this and, if you can charge it overnight in your garage, you never have to sit at a charger. A small, cheap EV is perfect in this scenario. I hope the VF3 is a quality vehicle and finds success.
I agree, and I've almost come to that point myself that maybe I'm just stubborn and instead of buying a $$$ EV for my long trips, just accept a run-about and take the wifes car when needed.
Still, once I uncovered that VF is estimating only 125miles range, the VF3 is not for me. :)
Me too, as a Vietnamese, VF3 affordable. Because car in Vietnam 2 times or 3 times higher than in the US, for example, a Lexus in the US if 60k $, then it will be 150k in Vietnam. I live in City so VF 3 can go easily in the small road and also easier for parking. Especially, the expense for it is so cheap, electricity price is just 1/3 compared to gasoline, no lubrication oil, less maintenance fee. One more thing, the range is expected up to 140 - 193 miles. I think it is just enough for just 1 charge a week. The CEO Thuy sail with Yahoo Stock news, the price is gonna less than 20k $ and will be available in dealers in the US early next year or on Christmas this year 2024 in Vietnam.
And I think you both of you try to test drive the VF8 in the showroom or dealers, you will be convinced and agree that how good, how great it is. Most of bugs are fixed. Most of users in Cali or Canada are really love it. One down side is that, the price is just not cheaper than Tesla. But if aleady buy the users are really love its quality

Most of anti-vinfast, living in USA, is about politics. They haven't jet owned and drive one month at least.
BTW, thank your view !!
Stop lying, all Vietnamese hate Vinfast bcuz it's belong to việt cộng theft government, they steal everything of the country which is belong to all Vietnamese, only around 6 mil/100 tr việt cộng love VF simple just bcuz it's belong to them, VN is exactly like North Korea, the police will knock your door if you telling the truth, Reddit and Jalopnik already talk about the latest case of Sonnie Tran was reportedly interrogated by việt cộng police for 35 hrs over 4 days
Vinfast products get better every day. very happy about that. congratulate them
Last year is a learning year for Vinfast in US market. It was tough when things didn't go as planned but I believe they're willing to listen and being very motivated to changes so they can fit in. I think the next model they bringing out will be good.
I got the vf8 plus 2023 in toronto for my family of 5. We love it. The negative reviews are full of bs. I dont regret a penny I've spent on it so far.
I would definitely buy a vinfast pickup truck.
Xe vin cứng cáp và rất an toàn là tiêu trí tiên quyết nhất của người lãnh đạo đó
Vinfast pickup will be built in North Carolina due to very heavy US tariffs on imported pickups or any trucks. You are spot on with the VF3. The VF3 must be a Vietnamese import to keep a minimum price, if made in the US it will be too expensive as Smart car was and therefore would fail in the US. VF3 is all, price, price and price. 2024 will probably be a busy year for VinFast, the principal owner is now CEO, he is going to move product or else. Should be interesting to watch... I 100% want a VF6, possibly a VF7 when/if they arrive this year. Make it available, I am buying, NP. Maybe we'll get a VF3 too...I miss the fun I had with my old Smart Fortwo.
I agreed. VF3 and VF Wild are great idea and have very good potential. VinFast is also moving at lightning speed to correct some issues with existing VF8 just like the e way they move at break neck speed with every else.
I just took a trip to Vietnam. After seeing how huge the VIN group is in Vietnam, they that are swimming in money there and are HUGE, on the level of Samsung or larger. They are not going anywhere. I think I might throw some money at their stock.
Head over to the Vinfast Reddits (there are 2) and you'll be convinced the entire VinGroup is 30 days from bankruptcy. :)
i would not touch vinfast stock!
Bankruptcy?😂😂😂 ...never
@@AllCarswithJon The defamatory articles there about Vinfast going bankrupt are mainly written by Vietnamese people living in the US.
@@AllCarswithJon How did they go bankrupt ?😂 VinFast will not go bankrupt. Behind Vingroup is the government. They will continue to move forward . The Vietnamese government will support them to dominate the Vietnamese market, and in the US, there are more than 2 million Vietnamese people living; the majority will support VinFast
Another great video!!! I love the idea of the mid-gate to extend the bed to 8 feet. This would make it more functional for the rare occasions in which you need a long box. I don't understand why other truck manufacturers are not doing this.
I'm cool to them overall, with the long-term durability, rattles, and sealing out the elements being my big concerns. But with the prevalence of 4 door trucks and shorter beds, I think we'll see it more often.
Safety. What happened when a head on collision?
As a Vietnamese I love Vinfast because of their creativity. Each car model defines its own style. They are a new brand but have invested very methodically. It's crazy to look at their machines and assembly lines. It seems that the trend of full LEDs on the front and back of the car gradually became popular when they launched Lux A,SA in 2019. VF8 is my goal besides electric motorbikes.
The vf 3 will be good for a first car for highschool/uni student

VF3 comes with 2 models: base and plus. Expected price is Vietnam for base and plus models are $12,500 and $14,500, respectively.
Make it standard Tesla plug and I'll buy one to run errands around town.

Can't wait to get my hands on a VF3 and lower it and make a street truck out of it
Imagine, if any of the American Big Three had even a fraction of the ambition that Vinfast has. I think we’d see a lot more options in what we want instead of them rationalizing everything into just mid priced SUVs and crossovers. That VF3 looks very appealing as a second car. And the price actually makes it possible to have as a second car. We still have the quality to judge on, but for now, with the information we have, the VF3 seems like a great car. I wonder how the VF Wild would compare to competitors like the Lightning and R1. But overall, Vinfast seems to have their act together pretty well.
I tend to agree. They had major mis-steps in 2023 with cars that were simply not ready to be delivered to customers (or reviewers).
But the sheer ambition of this company astounds me. There's a lot of negative 'research' online about them and their business dealings, but if the company is what it appears to be it has the potential to be a major success.
I'm not completely sold, but as I've said many times I wouldn't bet against them.
The big three has ZERO imagination!
@@danielsweeney6742 I don't know about that. I mean just a few years ago they came out with the ... um... wait... no, that was decades ago.... :(
@@AllCarswithJon”decades ago…”😂😂
@@danielsweeney6742Yeah. They’ve been using the same trick in the book (crossovers and suvs) for ages.
Hardware quality very good, trust me it will surprise you.
I like this car
Let's go Vinfast!
No one want to pay high price for new brand car , maybe they will try vf3 with cheap price first . If it good, maybe they will buy higher version
I threw the dice and bought one. I dont regret it. Cant go wrong with 10 years warranty.
I think the VF3 will be a big hit.
I agree
Just for update: there are videos after CES 24, when people really drive the VF Wild out from the stadium. It is a really Car not a carton concept.
I wouldn’t say I’m likely to go EV anytime soon, but the idea of a small affordable runabout has some appeal to it. In a way, maybe Vinfast is a victim of the expectations that they set for themselves. If their initial pitch to the market was the VF3, they may have gotten a warmer initial reception and have more revenue flow while they work on getting the quality right to move upmarket.
You may be right at some point. However, the purpose of Vinfast is to build EV cars with advanced technology. You may not know that VinGroup has created an institution named VinAI and VinBigdata which are a leader in these aspect in Vietnam. The VF8 city edition is kind of show off what Vinfast could do with VF8. Unfortunately US people don't look at these advanced features but expect a cheap, simple EV cars from an almost unknown company from a developing country like Vietnam, but as with any new company and product, VF8 has some shortcomings. I think the change in the leadership of Vinfast reflect a new vision of marketing its EV cars.
Maybe its success in Vietnam has given it some boldness to bring in a newly-developed product that didn't fully meet expectation of US drivers. However Vinfast has listen to US people and makes change very quickly with all kind of software updates as well as some hardware components. I am sure that VF8 2004 is much better than VF8 2023.
Gasoline cars are more convenient, but VF is aiming for a technological experience that you can't find in gasoline cars, and as usual, gasoline car drivers ignore it.
the leak price for VF3 in Vietnam is 15500$ all option. So I expect it to be a little bit pricier in the US. With the range to 150 - 200km. It will be a lovely car for urban use.
Interesting, have a source you can share for that? I've consistently heard around "$20k".
What's more interesting is the comments I've gotten saying that it will be more expensive in VN than the US...
@@AllCarswithJon *$12,500 base and $14,580 plus(battery included), 285km range = 177 miles*
@@AllCarswithJon *In the US it may be a bit more expensive because of shipping and taxes*
@@baquexola1724 I understand that but I've had comments telling me that Vietnam cars are 2-3times more expensive as well.
@@AllCarswithJondo thuế ở Vn đánh rất cao.theo dung tích xi lanh.nếu người dân Mỹ đón nhận rất có thể Vf3 cũng sẽ sản xuất tại Mỹ.
You are a very thoughtful reviewer.
Tôi yêu VN và tự hào về VF ❤❤❤
The wild is Vietnamese Avalanche.
I like the TELO truck which is similar to the WILD concept in the use of a collapsing midgate to get an 8 foot bed but overall smaller, probably less expensive and positioned as an urban truck. California company, so potential for government tax credits. As with any start-up, time will tell whether it makes production.
That thing is adorable! If I for one second thought it was real I'd be very excited. :)
I think Vinfast should bring the VF5 to the US, its only $20,000 in Vietnam.
If they build it NC and keep the price at 20k, VF might have a Mazda CX3 sized EV for $12.500 after tax rebate
The Avalanche called, it wants its midgate back. I'll be interested in seeing more on the Wild.
When I know more, I'll be updating us all! I'm interested in this product - it's either going to be a raging dumpster fire or a solid EV offering. LOL
I love it.
VF3 specs are available
16 inch rims
Dimensions 3,190x1679x1622
Distance 210 km
10 inch main screen
Has android auto and apple carplay
The rear seat can be folded down to accommodate a luggage compartment area of 550L
It will be a disposable car every few years like iPhone. You have to charge battery everyday w/ 210 km (130 miles) range. You can safely use 1/2 of the battery capacity before charging it. Your mileage can vary where you live. A/C or heater will drain the battery quickly.
(for a daliy driver 200 miles of range should be plenty )
Yes. In city don't need so much miles
@@leecrypto9225 should give you at least a 100 miles of tow range -tow slow

I thought the VF Wild was a "clay model" but then I saw the videos below where it had actual motor and was operable under very limited condition. Interesting
ua-cam.com/video/VPDJnV1jZ6k/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/qrhR510itAM/v-deo.html
Yes, there's several very vocal VF critics screaming over and over it's a "clay" model which is why you can't get close to it and no one could get inside.
Of course, even watching the reveal video showed someone inside it, doors working, and the powered midgate. But facts don't matter to those frothing at the mouth to hate VF
I like the looks of VF8, VF9, VF7 and VF3. I do not like the look of WILD Truck. I hate the door of the truck when it opens like that. They should make it bolder and look tougher because it is a truck. I do not like the look of the interior of this truck either. It looks weak.
I feel confident the interior will become more basic as it nears production, but I agree on the exterior (front) styling. It's definitely in the modern 'lifestyle vehicle' more than "TRUCK"
@@AllCarswithJon I just saw a video that Vinfast Wild is being able to move (someone is driving it in the CES showroom). The exterior is actually look ok. Not bad looking but for the interior, I think the color makes it looks weak. Perhaps, different interior color (darker color) will make this truck look better. But I still hate any cars that open the door like that.
What has happened to the US auto industry, in order think of the military campaigns the US has been involved in from WW2 onward first Germany (Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW), then Japan (Toyota, Nissan,😀 Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Mazda, etc.), Korea (Hyundai, Kia) now Vietnam, when are Iran and Iraq move in to destroy what is left of US auto manufacturing? It is scary.
Interesting observation. I look forward to buying the afghanistan truck in 2040. :)
Yeah I forgot about them.
Jon, despite the proposed attributes of the the VF3, I believe those prospective young, urban buyers have no clue where they will recharge an EV. Sadly, the Real World once again intrudes upon nirvana.
Your lack of appreciation of the ability of young people is very disappointing.
@@michaeloreilly657 it's not the young people who lack. Rather, it's the infrastructure available to urban dwellers.
Infrastructure will improve with time.
@@AllCarswithJon I have no doubt of that, but a practical solution for urban (and suburban) high rise dwellers has yet to be proposed, especially those with only street parking, like in Boston, NYC, and Washington DC.
@@jeffreybrooks8643 I agree with you in the short-term. Those in apartments, etc. have few options. But in the longer term, cities are beginning to tackle this issue. Whether it requires parking garages, townhomes, apartments to have Lvl2 charging, and/or whether they install trickle charges in on-street partking, the issue can be addressed.
In the Mid-Term the question is whether a product like the VF3 can succeed while those 'solutions' are implemented over time.
Did you hear they recently got police to arrest a reviewer for giving them a bad review? I haven't read the articles so there's probably some details I haven't learned in that situation though.
Stories like that have been circulating for at least 2-3 years now.
I'm not wading into hating the company because the government of Vietnam has different freedom of speech or slander laws than the US.

If only there was a proven model to entering the US market for a foreign brand. I guess VW, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia etc. didn't know what they were doing? Vinfast is trying to come in as 2024 Lexus with a 1984 Pony.
Stunning look car!!
Actually there are 6 different midsize electric trucks already introduced. But nothing coming to market until 2027. Why so long? Because most manufacturers take time to develop a good vehicle with safety and quality in mind. Whereas Vinfast just takes 18 months from concept to production with zero development time to work out any issues and safety issues. That’s my biggest problem with fast. There are like five different electric vinfast models for sale in Vietnam. But none of them were given proper development and testing time. It was designed and production that’s it. That’s why we say vinfast is 💩
Please let us know all 6 midsized BEV trucks for the US market? I know of 2.
