So much fun! Love to see transformations, because it shows ways to keep working on a piece to making it something new… and for a beginner like me, not liking the first draft happens a lot lol
I love that! Thank you for such sweet feedback. I am always reworking things I do not like, or scrapping first drafts. I think that is all part of the creative process, so you are right where you need to be! 😊
Thank you so much, Laura. I loved watching you make the changes to your painting. It was amazingly helpful to have you walk through the process of making over the old painting and seeing how much your changes improved the work. Loved it and yes, please show us more examples of making over old paintings that didn't quite work. 🙃😊🥰😘
You have inspired me to work on a bad watercolor attempt that is just hanging around glaring at me. Your colors are fabulous. And the idea of reusing something (s) is so good.
Yes, I would love to see more transformations! I also have many paintings that could use some refreshing. I love all of your classes I have taken… love your style!❤
Yes yes yes! More makeovers please - I have some paintings that I've shoved in a closet because I like some aspects of them, but dislike others. Now I see the way you transformed yours and would love to see more!
Yay, I am glad this idea is getting some traction as I am like you - plenty of paintings in the closet! I feel like UA-cam is a great place to share the transformations.
Absolutely would love to see more makeovers. Your process offers so many ideas - I have several pieces that could use this type of attention. Thank you for sharing!
@@VanessaWestwood yes I am working on watercolour paper. I've used embroidery on unstretched canvas and then stretched later. Haven't tried on a stretched canvas. Wonder if that is possible?
Great video, thanks Laura. Can you tell me the artist in the background song you play please? It’s really stuck with me but I can’t find out who it is! Thanks 😊
Greaseproof paper is called deli paper in the US. It's used primarily for wrapping sandwiches and isn't suitable for putting in the oven. Mine isn't as transparent as I like, so I might try another brand. The one I have at the moment is the Armarda brand from Woolworths. You can also get deli paper in some craft shops that is imported from the US. It's more expensive, though, and pretty similar to what is called "greaseproof paper" in Australia. I hope that helps!

Awesome! Thank you!
Time to drag out my box of "failures" and see if they respond to a makeover. Loved where you went with this piece 🤩
You only fail if you don't TRY. Box of failures just may turn into a box of masterpieces 😊
Please do! I bet you'll find that many of those little "failures" are actually a box of magic waiting for you!
Yes, More Transformations please!
I’d like to see that beautiful bulletin board behind you😊❤❤❤
Love seeing the transformation. It’s inspiring to use those “failures “ and bring them back to life. More examples please.❤

Wow never thought of using embroidery thread! Always learning ✨
Glad you found a new spark! I love adding a bit of thread; you can also run pieces through a sewing machine, which looks great too!
@@LauraHornArt I'm assuming you used watercolor paper? Possible to do embroidery thread on canvas?
