I also learned some leg action to go along with this. I won't get too specific, because all you're doing is starting with your knees bent, and extending them at the same time as your elbows.
Yup! More for beginning setters or setters who aren't as strong with their upper body it's great to engage the whole body and get more support and power from your lower limbs.
I WANT to ask you when You were new to volleyball Does Your hand Had some dark spots and some areas of hand turned red And did it pained And You were Little bit scared to receive. And Does Those Dark Spot appears now .
Ofc it wont be accurate, but when setting, you use the tip of your fingers to soften the ball and your wrist power to set the ball. If you can't get a hold of the ball you can't transfer good amount of power into it. I play setter as well so it's fine just keep trying
@@jeffr249 ah i see, then just get used to setting the ball on the wall. It will probably improve your hold of the ball when setting. This happens to me too don't worry
@@co0kii true. I stopped playing volleyball for a few weeks because i was depressed and when i got back into it i couldn't set nor serve anymore which sucked. all effort was wasted but i'm not giving up now.
Wow, why would anyone do that hands on hip method when you can do the seven step robot method which is so much more fun! Anyway, I never knew about any of these tricks before, thanks!
The "7 step robot method" is still part of molding and helps break down the details of the actual hand position. For learners who want more details and in order to really focus on the small muscles and engage them, this helps.
Different things work for different people. I've known setters and coaches who set and teach many different ways. Because I'm a bit stronger in my wrists and want to set with fast tempo, this method works best for me.
False! You use your wrist to create most of the power and speed of your set. Otherwise your arms do all the work, which is first of all slow and secondly extremely easy to read.
Kaylee Morgan no ur right Im a setter and I was thinking the same thing I know u need to flick a little but definitely not as much as she was. Maybe it’s taught differently in some areas though
Is the audio cutting for anyone else?
yeah, I'm guessing she was using some copyright music for those little montages, so now the sound is gone
Same
yea
Yeah, idk what happened
Thought that was only me
I love the waist-trick for shaping your hands! Great work! :)
I found it weird that the shape you make to catch a ball depends on your fat.
Thank you so much for this. I did this at home a lot and I became the teams best setter!!!!
That's so great to hear, congrats and keep it up!
That is FANTASTIC to hear. I hope you continue getting better and continue having fun learning! :)
Are you still playing volley ball it's been a year 😌💖👍🏻

Other videos say NOT to use your wrist to set..only your elbow and go out straight. Whats your opinion.
