That first torpedo jammed the Bismarck's rudder. Then the British ships ponded her until all of her guns were silenced. The British moved in close after the guns were killed. In the end the Germans scuttled her.
Brilliant reaction, if this was your first Sabaton reaction, you have just opened a door to metal with a fantastic Swedish band (especially as a live band) that will not be able to close again. 🎶🤘
P.s., that was a completely appropriate reaction. The Bismarck was truly a "beast made of steel." This is the best music video ever made; 10/10. Keep doing Sabaton. How about "Into the Fire?"
The aircraft carrier depicted in this music video is most likely the HMS Ark Royal, whose 818th Torpedo Bomber Squadron managed to cripple Bismarck and ultimately ended the chase. The old Fairey Swordfish they flew were so slow, the advanced AA gunsights on Bismarck were unable to accurately target them on top of the planes skins being made of canvas. The shells would just tear through without doing much damage.
One hell of a band from Sweden :) One of the best live performnces i have seen are SABATON - Ghost Division (Official Live) with 550.000 Polish people. That performance rocks

Accurate depiction of the Battle of Denmark Strait, and also, the immediate tracking, disabling, and sinking the KMS Bismark before she reached the aircover of fighters based in occupied France, and the Port of Brest for repairs.
Fun Fact, the lines “They are bound by iron and blood” are a reference to the ships namesake, Otto von Bismarck, the man who united the 39 disunited German states to form Germany with Prussia at its head and one of the greatest leaders and politicians the world ever saw. It’s from a speech he gave, emphasizing German unity: “The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions, but by iron and blood.” He was saying that the German states couldn’t unite merely by signing treaties, but through military strength so as to defend against their enemies who’d want to prevent the creation of Germany, namely Austria and France.

So the Bismarck was the German flagship during WWII and easily the biggest ship in the Atlantic. If the allies had let it out into the Atlantic Ocean it would have wreaked havoc on the supply convoys between America and Briton, likely ending the war. The British opposed it with with their own massive battleship the HMS Hood, but the Hood was hit on it's lighter armored deck, right above the powder magazine detonating it and killing all but three of it's 1418 crew. This enraged the British and they threw everything they could muster at the Bismarck to get vengeance. Long story short a torpedo attack by British sea planes jammed the Bismarck's rudder leaving it a sitting duck.
