The man with the compass on the fishing boat with sabaton is the son of the young survivor in the video. he portrayed his father on the video. as Bernhard Huer, the last survivor of the Bismarck who was still alive unfortunately passed away a year before the song was made.
@@SwedishWarGoat. I too read this in many other comments in other reactions. I can not confirm nor deny, but I also read that this is the reason why there is so much Bismarck memorabilia in his office (you can see them at the beginning of the video), so I tend to believe it.

@@legiahuy9436 No way it was him. The video was made in conjunction with Wargaming, the company that makes the World of Warships game. The name that is painted on the boat the band went out in , Primo Victoria, is the also the name of the first Sabaton album. The title track to that record is about D-Day at Normandy.
The band froze on that boat! The name of the boat is "Primo Victoria" - also the name of another Sabaton song. They went to play the song at the last co-ordinates of a floating Bimarck. Yes, Bismarck was the most powerful battleship in Europe when launched. The other ship of similar specifications was named Tirpitz - and became "the lonely Queen of the North"..... Joakim is the singer. Sabaton IS cool!. HMS Dorsetshire fired the last torpedoes into Bismarck - most did not detonate! They picked up some survivors but had to leave because there was a U-boat in the area - which later picked up more survivors......."War knows no nation. This song is dedicated to all those who fought in the Battle of the Atlantic to the bitter end." My fathers' ship chased the Graf Scheer after the sinking of HMS Jervis Bay - lucky for me they did not catch Graf Scheer - .........that time!
The song is about a German Battleship called Bismarck, his mission was to destroy allied convoys in the north Atlantic that was keeping the UK in the fight. While he was his voyage he and his escort Prinz Eugen were spotted by Norwegian ships who then radioed the British of their position. British Battleship King George V and HMS Hood intercepted the 2 German ships in the Denmark Straight, the fighting lasted only a few minutes before Bismarck hit the Hoods ammunition magazine which caused the ship to explode into 2 peace's, while HMS Hood was sinking both the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen began shelling King George V but managed to escape the same fate as Hood. After the battle Winston Churchill found out the sinking of Hood and ordered every available ship to sink the Bismarck, a Catalina flying boat spotted the Bismarck from the oil trail that was leaking from Bismarck fuel tanks which then reported it to British high command. British high command ordered the closest fleet near the sighting of the Bismarck to intercept the ship, one of the ships in this fleet was HMS Ark Royal an Aircraft carrier armed with Swordfish torpedo bombers was ordered to sink or damage the Bismarck enough to slow the ship. Once the Swordfish torpedo bombers found the Bismarck they tried several attempts to hit the ship but they all mist, on one of the final runs a swordfish plane managed to hit the Bismarck in the rudder while he was doing evasive manoeuvres which jammed the rudder into a full turn. Once the German sailors found out about this they tried everything they could to fix the problem but it was impossible in the current weather, with no other options the captain of the Bismarck Otto Ernst Lindemann sent a telegram to German High Command saying "ship disabled we will fight until the last man long live the Fuhrer". because the Bismarck was crippled the royal navy managed to catch up to the Bismarck and started pummelling the vessel with literally every gun on board their ships, even a polish ship was flashing a light at the Bismarck in Morse code saying "I am a pole". after about 20 minutes into the fighting the Bismarck was a floating wreck, Lindermann ordered the ship be scuttled to prevent capture, the royal navy did use torpedoes when they eventually started to run out of ammo and fuel but those didn't do anything. The Bismarck went under at around 10:40AM bringing down 2000 sailors with him, today the Bismarck lies on a dead volcano after sliding down it with minimal damage from the impact. The old man you see in the beginning and end of the music video is actually the son of one of the sailors from the Bismarck who sadly past away about a year after filming the music video. 5
that's right, but the words "ship disabled we will fight until the last man long live the Fuhrer" were not of Captain Lindemann, but of Admiral and commander of the operation Günther Lutjens. Ernst Lindemann never transmitted radio messages, as this could lead to interception and detection

In the beginning of the Video, you can hear the Radio in the beginning, when the are driving is talking about How the Bismarck have blown the "The might cruiser Hood" That lead to the British Navy got the message that Bismarck must be destroyed at all costs and lead to Battle of The Denmark Strait. The Kriegsmarine was Nazi Germanys Navy. The Video was made with help from the company behind "World of Tanks" that needed some material to their game "World of Warships". And yes Sabaton really played on a boat in the "middle of nowhere".
"From Wiki" (just a short version). Bismarck was the first of two Bismarck-class battleships built for Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine. Named after Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, the ship was laid down at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg in July 1936 and launched in February 1939. Work was completed in August 1940, when she was commissioned into the German fleet. Bismarck and her sister ship Tirpitz were the largest battleships ever built by Germany, and two of the largest built by any European power. In the course of the warship's eight-month career under its sole commanding officer, Captain Ernst Lindemann, Bismarck conducted only one offensive operation, lasting 8 days in May 1941, codenamed Rheinübung. The ship, along with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, was to break into the Atlantic Ocean and raid Allied shipping from North America to Great Britain. The two ships were detected several times off Scandinavia, and British naval units were deployed to block their route. At the Battle of the Denmark Strait, the battlecruiser HMS Hood initially engaged Prinz Eugen, probably by mistake, while HMS Prince of Wales engaged Bismarck. In the ensuing battle Hood was destroyed by the combined fire of Bismarck and Prinz Eugen, which then damaged Prince of Wales and forced her retreat. Bismarck suffered sufficient damage from three hits to force an end to the raiding mission. The destruction of Hood spurred a relentless pursuit by the Royal Navy involving dozens of warships. Two days later, heading for occupied France to effect repairs, Bismarck was attacked by 16 obsolescent Fairey Swordfish biplane torpedo bombers from the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal; one scored a hit that rendered the battleship's steering gear inoperable. In her final battle the following morning, the already-crippled Bismarck was severely damaged during a sustained engagement with two British battleships and two heavy cruisers, was scuttled by her crew, and sank with heavy loss of life. Most experts agree that the battle damage would have caused her to sink eventually. The wreck was located in June 1989 by Robert Ballard, and has since been further surveyed by several other expeditions..
The ship cat of the Bismark, Oscar, deserves a song on his own. He not only survived the sinking of the Bismarck. but was rescued and adopted by the Royal Navy. There he survived the sinking of two more ships, HMS Cossack and HMS Ark Royal. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unsinkable_Sam

The wreck of Bismarck was discovered on 8 June 1989 by Robert Ballard, the oceanographer responsible for finding RMS Titanic. Bismarck was found to be resting on her keel at a dept of approximately 4,791 m (15,719 ft), about 650 km (400 mi) west of Brest. 48°10′N 16°12′W
Also, in response The United States Navy also decided to create their own Mega or Dreadnought Battleship called Montana Class Battleship and it will be called USS Montana. But when WWII ended the Navy scrapped the idea.
The first battle scene is when Bismarck engage and damage Prince of Wales. The Swordfish plane from the carrier drop the torpedo that damages Bismarck's rudder. The second battle scene shows Bismarck and Rodney firing against each other. King George V were also shooting at Bismarck but he's not in the video and Dorsetshire launch the torpedoes just before the solo but yet the hull was intact. In the end it was the crew that scuttled Bismarck to keep him away from the Brits.
The second Battle is faction. That was NOT HMS Rodney. Rodney had 9 16inch guns in 3 triple turrets all forward of her super structure. The ship seen fighting Bismarck in the end was the Town class Light cruiser HMS Sheffield with 12 6 inch guns. If that happened in real life Bismarck would have blown it out of the water. Wargaming got that scene wrong.
You should do a Reaction to Sabaton's Fields of Verdun Official Music Video. Historic Fact of the Song - The Battle of Verdun in WWI between the French and Germans lasted 303 days with over 700,000+ casualties and was the Longest Active Battle in History (Non-Stop Continuous Battle For Days And Nights) and on the First Day over a Million Artillery Shells were fired over a 9 hour period that could be heard from over 100 miles away. You can Imagine this battle as an Industrial Meat Grinder.
Great reaction as usual. I love the acting from Andre's part - how he really takes the role of the naive guy and goes like "I don't understand this!". 🙂 Yeah, it's a cliché but I really love how he plays the slow guy. Would love to see a bit more development in that storyline in the future but right now I'll take what I can get .. ;-)
I don’t know if people have mentioned this. Battleship Bismarck and Tirpitz were the First largest Battleships in the world, over 50,000 tons and many Naval Historians of German Navy, Hitler wanted to create more larger Battleships and even larger Battleships. But both Battleships got dunked and the Japanese created their own Battleships and 2 IJN Battleships were larger then Bismarck and Tirpitz. Japanese Battleships Musashi and Yamato were over 72,000 tons and those had the largest Naval Guns in History. The Naval Guns were 18.1 inches.
If you like Sabaton, you should visit their home town. Every year Sabaton arrange a rock festival there and invite several other top notch bands. YT don't allow me to link for some reason but search for "Sabaton Open Air Festival"
The main role in that film was the pocket watch. The skipper who drove out Sabaton had the pocket watch that he checked what time it was,, in the film you see the young sailor asking the captain to engrave into the cover of the pocket watch. Towards the end, when the sailor is saved, the pocket watch goes down. But it is probably the grandson of the sailor who is the skipper of the fishing boat. for it cannot be the sailor who is the skipper for that sailor would be over 90 years old. The skipper looks to be around 45-50 years old.

The Bismarck and his sister ship Tirpitz were the biggest warships Germany has every built to date. At the time it was the biggest and most advanced battleship in the world, it wasn't however the biggest battleship ever, even though the Sabaton History channel claims it was. The Japanese battleship Yamato is still the biggest battleship ever built I believe. Yamato started its service around 7 months after Bismarck has sunk, in 1941.
Notice that they sing "he was made to rule the Sea.. " Bismarck is the only ship in history refered as a he and not a she as is common to all other ships, by the standard of sailors tounge. I recommend you as allways look up the Sabaton history chanel here on UA-cam. Where they explain all historical events and what each song is about.
Although the Bismarck was encircled by British naval forces, the British were unable to sink the Bismarck. After firing everything on the Bismarck, the British found that they could not sink the Bismarck. The Germanic captain, after seeing that his ship could no longer escape, decided that his ship would rather perish by self-destruction than by enemy takeover. That was/is German heroism!
Sabaton took parts of the docomentation ua-cam.com/video/IY5wMcqZI8c/v-deo.html Into their Video. This hunt for the Bismarck is a Thriller you must see..! Then you will realize the drama which happened in May 1941.
The Bismark was the biggest war ship in the Atlantic (The Japanese had the Yamato which was bigger but not as strong) and there was a sister ship, the Tirpitz. The only 2 Bismark class battleships ever built, and the Japanese never built another Yamato class, because It became clear that aircraft carriers were far better capital ships. So modern navies are based around carriers with smaller gun ships as escorts.
There was in fact 2 Yamato class battle ships. Musashi was Yamatos sistership. it was a third one (Shiano) on the way but was converted to a aircraft carrier before launch.
Kind of correct. At the time it was commissioned in 1940, Bismarck was the largest battleship in the world. The battleship Yamamoto was larger, but was not commissioned until 1941.

Thank you!
I love your reactions to Sabaton please keep it up :D
If no one have mentioned this the name they gave the boat at 2:31 is taken from an older song by the band, from the older set up of the band.
Check out the Coat of arms with lyrics the video with the Greek flag!
Sabaton has 3 yarnhub illustrated videos , No bullets fly, Night witches, and the Red Baron.
The Bismarck sank the HMS Hood, only 3 men survived. The Bismarck went down taking 2000 German sailors with him.
They dont put in the video the destruction of the hood. But you can hear on the radio of the car at the beggining that episode too.
This must have been expencive production.. but awesome af... 💪💪💪 great sabaton💪💪💪
That "the first battelship" hurted my heart
The skipper looks to be around 45-50 years old.
it is a magnetic compass, and there are numbers scratched in the lid
@@najroe The numbers are the position the ship sank. Lat/long... 48°10' N 16°12' W
I don't know which one is terrifying: the firepower of Bismarck or Joakim's knee banging
Did you know that one of the warships hunting for Bismarck was Polish destroyer ORP Piorun?
The whole concert:

Enjoy🇵🇱🥰🇵🇱
Did you see that the kompass the Admiral gave to the young seamen rescued is the same the old man hold in beginning of video.
If you guys can do reaction to 40:1 Official Music Video + live in one video, it'll be great :)
We, who listen to this song, we should never forget what mankind is able to do such horrible things to each other. My Grandfather was a young man who was drafted to be a soldier on a Torpedoboot based in occcupied France to give escort to Ships like the Bismark or U-Boots from the Atlantik
You can find 40:1 here! Sabaton-12 40:1 (live) Swedish Empire Dvd!
You need to check out sabaton history
Like...do the song and then the history video
thank you very much for the wonderful reaction, I advise you to listen to the song of the Sabaton group - Dreadnought, also on the theme of the fleet, also such a version of Bismarck👍
video is from world of warships game... and biggest ship was yamato ( I think)
I love your reactions so good. Have u done any epica or within temptation? Also falling in reverse, sorry for question as not great checking previous reations. ✨️😄
Im not complete sure, but ive read somewhere on a reaction video that the guy in the video (the old guy at the start) is a son to a survivor from bismarck.
It’s truly vile that I’m watching this really good video then half way through it you get those diabolical advert’s breaking in who the HELL is responsible for this because they will go to HELL.
The coordinates are where Bismarck lays in the lid of the compass or pocket watch but what are the coordinates i couldn't read them?
Next (Night Witches Animated Story Video)by Sabaton ? I am really sure you will love that one :).
Total crew of the Bismarck; 2200.....survivors; 114.
I think you should try the winged hussars
Am I wrong or Musashi was the same class as Yamato?
There was in fact 2 Yamato class battle ships. Musashi was Yamatos sistership. it was a third one (Shiano) on the way but was converted to a aircraft carrier before launch.
Kind of correct. At the time it was commissioned in 1940, Bismarck was the largest battleship in the world.
The battleship Yamamoto was larger, but was not commissioned until 1941.
Yes as pointed out by you. There were two of them, Bismarck and Tirpitz. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺
That's right - but they weren't the biggest. The Japanese Yamato and Musashi were longer, heavier and their main guns had a bigger caliber.
@@ekki_ohs okay I agree but was not saying they were the biggest.
@@ekki_ohs Bismarck was the biggest battleship when she was launched as the Yamato was still under construction at the time
@@stevenhopwood8195 That's right - but I thought it was said in the reaction...
@@Ted_Kenzoku... when HE was launched. ;-)
