Your review from 2 years ago was a big reason i ended up going with the HFS after switching from 5 fingers. After many miles of daily use on concrete, gravel roads, construction work and calisthenics, i wore a hole in the sole which i filled with epoxy lol. I still use them for outside work but i need a new pair for running, so i wanted to see if i should check out any alternatives. I think I'll follow your lead and stick with what my feet love. As a side note, i got the Xero Alpines and they've been fantastic through 2 MN winters, although their water resistance has worn off... I also got the Xero Aqua X Sport water shoe which ended up becoming my daily drivers this past year because they're so breathable. Despite the thin mesh construction they have really held up to abuse. Xero has definitely won me over. Thanks for your update! HFS it is!
Yoooooo D LaFont! Thank you so much for this comment! It absolutely makes my day that the HFS have worked so well for you. I'm smiling over here like a lucky match-maker :) You filled the hole with epoxy?! Yeeesss!! hahaha! No joke, I tried to glue the sole of my original prios (before I tried the HFS) because they were out of my size for so long and I needed to make them last. It was miserable because I did such a terrible job, lol. I am confident you are more skilled. I feel a little guilty that I'm influencing you to be equally conservative in your shoe choices and sticking with the HFS, but I hope you don't regret it, and that your feet continue to thrive as long as you use them. Finally, thank you so much for describing these other shoes that have worked so well for you because they sound awesome (I'm especially intrigued to try the Aqua X Sport for the breathability and quick-drying factor!) and it's great to have the reference that they are suitable for a foot that *also* does well in the HFS. I'm going to pin this for anybody else who finds this video and takes the time to read through the comments! Thank you!
quick heads up @dlafont256... I just got an email (I'm guessing you did to but in case you miss it) that the HFS is on sale half off for 10 days!.... limited sizes, but the announcement made me think of you! :) cheers!
Milissaaaaa 🥰🥰 Thank you, sister! It is great to be back and I am so excited to introduce you to these two sweethearts🐶🦊. I think of you and your sidekicks often🙏. We send lots of love your way!
I have 3 pairs of Wildlings ! I love them ! Best thing I’ve done was change my whole lifestyle around minimalist barefoot shoes ! Birchbury,Vivo,Splay,Wildlings,Xero, are some of the brands I own. It’s been almost 2 years now and never wearing “normal/regular” shoes ever again ! 👌
Psalm23.777 / Live.Laugh, Love.LetGo.LetGod (I have to use this other name you've used, too, because I love it) Thank you for this comment! I HEAR YOU!! My life and health is forever improved from this transition I made, now several years ago. It is crazy how we are sold this concept that our feet need all these restrictions and special equipment just to do what they evolved to do... What a mess. I love the brands in your shoe collection (if you do a review, please link it here so I, and anybody who happens across this video, doesn't miss it!), and I definitely share your appreciation for Wildlings. They actually just opened a real brick and mortar store about 2 miles from my house. I CANNOT go there, hahaha, at least not until I win the lottery, because I'm going to want so many pairs. But I am happy for the evidence that they are growing and getting market share because I think they do a lot of things right, from their awesome shoe design to company philosophy and practices. And actually I had never heard of Birchbury, but they are gorgeous and look really well made, and I'm going to tell a friend about them right now who I know only wears leather shoes for work. Thank you for taking the time to say "hello" and share! 💛
@@YouCanChangeYourWorldToday Live.Laugh.Love.LetGo.LetGod Please know how much I appreciate these exchanges as well! And you are so kind for even THINKING this thought; thank you for your generous heart. You take care as well and I'll see you on here again soon. 😊🌼💛
Hey Julie, great little post; laughed out loud when you talked about drying your shoes in the oven. You have a good selection of shoes to choose from these days. Do you still use the Naboso (not sure of spelling) inserts? I didn't see the giveaway flash of blue as you handled your collection. You were talking about wanting a water repellent shoe. Have you tried leather; or is that not your thing? My leather Vivos are wonderful shoes and keep my feet dry, even in winter. With the risk of repeating myself ad nauseam..I'm really glad that your back! And it goes without saying, that I look forward to your next film. Take care Julie 😊
Hahaha, thank you so much, Tim! I mean some people have bakeware they store in their ovens, but goodness knows I don't bake, hahaa, so a shoe drying rack it is! Funny story, on one occasion I actually caught myself looking for my shoes for 5 minutes (keeping in mind I live in a single room studio...) like, "where the hell??" only to remember they were in the oven. hahahaa YES, good eye! I appreciate you were looking for the bright blue insoles, and I am sorry I didn't show it, but I do indeed have them in all my shoes, and I value them as much as ever. You make me realize I should do a Naboso product update/review as well (!) because I no longer use the neuro ball to release my feet as much, but I do use the mat daily and love it, and they have made some new products I've tried that I really love (namely, the sensory sticks for the hands and a wobble board)... so thank you for asking and I will follow up! You know, I am sure you mentioned/recommended I try a leather shoe in the past when I posted I had this issue about wanting a waterproof option, and I regret that I have not tried a leather shoe. I do not have anything against using leather (and I am persuaded that it is better for the planet over all these crazy synthetic materials we burn through!); I think I was just really curious to try the Wildlings because of the footbed (which happily exceeded my expectations), but I have not explored further. I believe Tadeevo has a leather boot (at least they did last time I checked, ages ago) that would definitely be on my wishlist. Thank you again for mentioning it. Thank you, Tim. It really feels good to be back. I don't want to jinx it and disappear again (!!), but please know how much I appreciate your support. I look forward to updates on your feet/walking mechanics/shoulder pain, etc., and hope that the content I finally share lives up to the beautiful and generous encouragement you have always shown me.💛
PUPPIES!!!! Miss my two boyz. Thank you for making this, just what I was asking for, haha. You do have more shoes than I thought you might. I can't believe how awesome the bottoms of the tadeevos look with the re-sole, they did an amazing job. Those xeros and the prio were the some of the first shoes I thought I was going to buy, but after seeing videos and reading how narrow they were compared to other brands, I never took the chance because of my extra wide duck feetsies. Congrats that you're almost at 500 subs, maybe you can do a g!v3away with the feelgrounds. I look forward to your upcoming video or videos about our infrastructure and its importance. I definitely feel more grounded and stabilized since freeing my feet over the last year plus, and the benefits travel upward, which is amazing. Thank you again for this upload.
Awww, Gman, thank you for the shout out to the Puppies! I am sorry yours are no longer with you in this physical realm. I was without a dog for 11 months after having two other beautiful canine companions for a combined total of 20 years. I'll have to share the story about how these two precious dogs came into my life. Thank you! Didn't the cobbler do an awesome job? I'm so glad I upgraded. He was this amazing guy, too, with decades at his craft. We had fun talking about feet :) I don't want to seem like an HFS or Xero pusher hahaha... but like I mentioned in my other reply, if the Bliss fits you well, I don't think the width/depth of the HFS/Prio will be a constraint for you. If you try them, please let me know if they end up being a thumbs up or down for you! Ooooh, way to notice my sub count! I would love to do a giveaway! And haaaha I love the idea of giving away the Feelgrounds! But I'd want to give away something I personally really love :). So maybe once I get a bit more momentum on here (I don't want to jinx it and go back into hiding!) and feel like I've earned the opportunity to do a giveaway, I'll decide on something cool to give out. I'll give away something I love, and be like, "I'll throw in this bonus pair of Feelgrounds I don't love but that you might!" hahaha I am really happy to hear you are enjoying your transition into more natural footwear and all the ways it can positively impact our bodies! Thank you for your encouragement, and I look forward to sharing everything I've learned (and continue to learn!!) to support you on your journey! Big hug, my friend. Great to meet you on here :)
Yay the queen is back! I'll say it again the HFS is probably the best overall barefoot shoe of all time. The comfort is insane. Also it's just amazing to see all this long term wear. You even managed to wear through the toe cap! How did you even wear the soles so much on multiple pairs. They're pretty tough with a 5k mile warranty. Do you think you got anywhere close to that kind of mileage on them?
CptAngel!!! You spoil me, my friend. Thank you for this sweet, warm, welcome back. You make me feel three times as committed to bringing the best content I can on here! Thank you. As for the shoes and the comfort of the HFS, seriously!! I don't even try other models because I don't think they can improve on the HFS for my feet! They are that good! Thank you so much for appreciating the realness of this kind of wear. These shoes go back several years, so I definitely didn't do that damage over night. I didn't even realize Xero had a mileage warranty, and I don't tend to keep track of my miles/step count, but now that you mention it, I probably should just to have a better sense of what I'm getting out of each pair! (and to see if they owe me any new ones! ;) ) But also, what you mention here actually makes me think of another topic, or at least something worth mentioning in a video about studying the wear patterns of our shoes, because the way we use our feet (among other factors of course like the terrain we are on, which for me is sadly mostly crappy concrete/asphalt that eats up shoes) makes a big difference in how we wear our shoes. Quick example, I have a client who has almost zero wear on her (non-minimalist) sneakers, after years of basically daily wear. I can elaborate (respecting her privacy of course) in another video, but suffice it to say she has some core instability and very limited glute activation, and also -- relatedly -- really deconditioned feet... The shoes I've been wearing since my injury have very little wear on the sole compared to shoes I've worn in the past even though I've used them daily... There is a connection. Thank you again for this comment and for all your support. I hope you are doing well in all ways. Sending my best and a big hug! 💛
