    Finally a guy who sharpens safely. Some of the videos I've seen are pretty scary. I've been using a cheap 1x30 that's probably going way too fast. Do you think I should quench my blade after every pass?
    Good tutorial, thanks for posting

    • @TobyFireandSteel
      @TobyFireandSteel  3 роки тому

      Heya bud thanks heaps. I dont think that its required for you to quench each time. But that said I dont put heaps of weight on the blade. Im nice and light about it. It does depend on your speed aswell mate I tend to sharpen about 40hz but have done faster.

    Hi. Enjoyed your video. I need to get a sharpener for my personal use. Would you suggest a Belt sander or the wen type with two wheels. If a belt , then 2x72 is overkill for me. What else would be able to do the job. Thanks

    • @TobyFireandSteel
      @TobyFireandSteel  5 місяців тому

      For personal use mate if just learn to use stones. And get some nice quantity ones. Check out Outdoor555 channel.
      If you want to spend more like 2x72 money on a sharpener and it's only for sharpening I would buy a Tormek T4 or T8 any day, I love mine if do make sure to get the sg and SJ wheel
