    How can anyone NOT LIKE George? Dude is living the dream & blessing people while doing it. I love watching him; he’s so genuine & happy & full of light.

    Regarding the book with the $100 bills in each chapter. I have a strong suspicion that the person who sold the book knew that the person receiving the book needed the money. Why else would they buy a discounted book on how to save money? They wanted to bless the buyer. I don’t think they were stupid! They were trying to be generous!

    • @myoldvhstapes
      @myoldvhstapes 7 місяців тому +7

      I disagree because the caller bought it from one of those massive megasellers who acquire books for a few pennies each and sell thousands of books a day. The companies inspect the books to classify condition and look for money/papers secreted inside. So the end buyer would not get the $1300.
      I find it more likely that the $1300 was put in the book as a personal gift to a family member. But the recipient was not interested, and discarded the book unopened.

      I don't think it was "mixed up generosity" as Dave thought. Someone bought the book, benefitted from it, and then donated it after placing the money in it -- knowing that the person who read the book next needed the help. Baby Step 7 in ACTION = "Live and give like no one else! Keep building wealth and become insanely generous." Very cool.

    Sometimes you don’t need a Big donation to change someone’s life.
    Years ago couple of days before Christmas I was in a bar as I’m going out I was approached by a man his hands were blue from the cold despite it was LA area.
    I had a good day so I gave him 100$ and told him so he can buy some gloves it was 1990 or 1991.
    Couple of years later I was working overseas but got to the same bar.
    Suddenly I was approached by a man and he look at me and say you were the one with the white Cadillac that gave me a 100$ I say wow what a memory the guy say that 100$ change my life I stay in a motel for the night was thinking about my life after it I talked to the owner here on the parking lot you see this hand car wash shack that’s my business now I can support myself without bagging and all thanks to you. So even a 100$ can change someone’s life.
    Happy Holidays

    Not every gift is money. I have an eye disease that was causing me to go blind. Because of the generous donations of two families of their loved ones’ corneas (and the skill of a fabulous surgeon) I received two cornea transplants. My eyesight is now normal, I can see, I can read, and I can drive. I hope that everyone who is able will consider organ donation and give someone a chance for a new life.

    My thought on Melina’s story (Mom gave brother a used Total Money Makeover book) is that somebody benefited from the book and wanted to pay it forward and bless someone else with Dave Ramsey‘s book with an extra 💵 blessing.

    • @alexarnold3117
      @alexarnold3117 Місяць тому

      Seems pretty straightforward to me to I was surprised Dave didn’t catch on that it was an intentional act to bless the person who wanted to make the change in their life to change their family tree. If you’re buying a used financial book you need the money and they knew that god bless them

    Hubby and I couldn't have kids. He passed in 2020 from Agent Orange poisoning. I give money to my local veterinary office to help pay some of the senior pet owners on their bills. I am a quilter and I donate fabric and my quilt guild makes lap quilts for the local nursing home and baby quilts for our local pregnancy crisis center. I am almost 75 and certainly can't take it with me but I am financially comfortable and love doing it.

      I worked at a company that the owner was the biggest giver I have ever met. He buys anyone in need all school supplies for our county at our local WM. You don’t have to show anything, just show up and he purchases. At Christmas we got to load our carts for food pantry and clothing for free also. I could go on and on but you get the picture. It rubs off on you for sure.

    I’m a server last year my coworker received a $10,000 cash tip. He gave everyone who works there $100 so he walked away with around 6k. The lady said she had sold some real estate and was moving and our restaurant was a special place for her to come. Crazy but so awesome. I was one table off rotation of getting the table and people said “are you jealous” nope it wasn’t my time he ended up needing to pay some vet bills and his truck had some issues. The lord knows when you need it.

(Shes fine) We paid off 15k in credit card dept this year and have saved about 5k we paid our wedding cash up front about 10k. I start school for 6 months to become a linemen in February. Excited but i wont be making little to any money we have a plan to bunker down and live off on income. But if we have accomplished so much not know about you i cant wait to see what we will now that we found you. As soon as school is over we are planing to take your course. We cant spent money right now but we will. The way i found you was a short on youtube about when you get married its now our income our dept our everything and being recently married that sure made sense. Lol. Thank you for being out there alot of people get into dumb debt like myself but most of us dont know any better so thank you. All my friends are now watch your show. Lol.

    What IF the book owner DID read the book and became very successful from it and the book owner paid it forward by putting the money in the book for someone else?

    I'm guessing the person who sold the book put the money in there to be generous to the buyer not sure how Dave didn't think of that just called the person stupid lol

      I find it more likely that the $1300 was put in the book as a personal gift to a family member. But the recipient was not interested, and discarded the book unopened. The caller bought it from one of those massive megasellers who acquire books for a few pennies each and sell thousands of books a day. The companies inspect the books to classify condition and look for money/papers secreted inside. So the end buyer would not get the $1300.
      If she had bought it from a smalltime personal seller, I would agree with you.

      @@BeeDee-qs9so : Sorry, Bee! I've bought "$4 with free shipping" used books from those megasellers on eBay and similar sites. It's not the same as buying from a kindly do-gooder who hid $1300 inside.

      I was on the same thought as you. I truly think whomever owned the book previously put the money in to start another on journey.

    Great show! My son donated a free outdoor Christmas light setup to a woman who called but just could not afford it. Turns out she was a refugee from RWANDA. Yes that RWANDA of the mass killing/genocide! It was a stormy icy night and he almost fell from the ladder a few times but he really felt he needed to do this. Then she sent him a link to her church's ZOOM service. I was thrilled when he told me - the pleasure in his voice was palpable!
