Probably the most touching debt-free scream ever. How classy and kind to keep mentioning Andrew all the way through to the countdown. Jacey and Mathilda, you were blessed with a GOOD man in your lives. May you thrive and continue his legacy.

That was so lovely. Couldn’t see a thing for the following ten minutes. Jacey did a beautiful job of honoring Andrew and I am so glad they didn’t rush to “rescue” her from her tears. Losing a spouse is life-altering.

Today broadcast was pretty emotional. I like listening to this show and I agree with most of it, and I follow most of it. However, most comments I leave may seem negative. It is just that when I agree on big things, I keep quiet. When I disagree on small things I write about it. 12 years ago I used to listen to Dave on AM radio. "When debt is dumb, cash is king.." he used to say.

To the potential kidney donor- see if the transplant center you are working with works with the National Kidney Registry… they have Donor shield that offers some wage reimbursement and will cover some of the costs of donating (hotel stay, fuel…). I used them when I donated my kidney in 2021…. There is also NLDAC if your transplant center doesn’t use National Kidney Registry…. I used NLDAC for my liver donation in May and they covered hotel/food/fuel for the donation. Good Luck!!!!

Credit cards are a useful tool for those of us who are DISCIPLINED to pay them off IN FULL every month. I had stopped using them until my debit card was compromised over a weekend, and I saw my checking account DRAINED in real time. I could not contact my financial institution until Monday. Then I had to wait a couple of days for my financial institution to reimburse me for the stolen money. Therefore, I stopped using my debit card. WHY put your OWN money at risk? This is the reason why I use a credit card AND continue to pay it off in full every month. I have not paid ONE penny in credit card interest in over 20 years. So Dave, SOME of us CAN handle credit cards wisely. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

The interest rate has increased eight times since March of last year, to 5% now. My retirement fund has suffered greatly over the past few years due to inflation at 7% and mortgage rates at over 7.5%, so I'm wondering how older people retire and survive in such an unsteady economy. Obviously, now is not the time for me to play the long term game.

    • @bossqueen_lala3098

I completely agree. As someone who recently retired, I had very little in retirement funds compared to my portfolio balance over the previous three years, no debt, and approximately 1.2 million in outside retirement accounts. Actually, one can only neglect rather than deny the importance of the invt-advisor. just need to conduct research to identify a reliable one.

Dave didn't even read the article he quoted about Wells Fargo's renter's card. The reason it didn't work out for Wells Fargo isn't because users didn't pay it. It's because they DID pay it and didn't run monthly balances like they had thought they would. So savvy people took them for a ride and likely earned cash back doing it.

    • @ThePolypam

Yeah, I came to the comments to say the same thing. I love Dave, but he was being dishonest about Wells Fargo. The bank was paying the 3% credit card fee transaction for rent in hopes that the credit card owners would carry large debt balances with interest rates of 30%. Trouble is, 75% of the credit-card owners were fiscally responsible, and never carried debt, so Wells Fargo lost money, LOL.
Dave has to understand that people like him are helping to make many more fiscally responsible people who CAN use a credit card without ever carrying debt. He does his job so well that he might make himself obsolete.

For Dave bragging about his $600 million company, $200 million studio, and being "untouchable" in the space they're in - Proverbs 16v18. Hubris has been the downfall of both civilizations and individuals. Humility is rare among this lot.

Bragging is part of how you interpret things. I don’t want a $600 million building with a $200 million studio. So I couldn’t care less.

When Dave Ramsey retires the show want be the same. His daughter Rachel is great on the show. I always like George Kambrell. I think Dr John Delong is very insightful. Maybe Dave Ramsey will stay till he is 70. Then he can retire.

Hey Dave, you don’t have to pay the 18% interest if you use a credit card to buy the stuff you need and pay it off each month because you have the money. Nothing is hardly a one solution fits all. Stop it.

That woman called for validation. Imagine calling the Dave Ramsey show to gossip about your coworkers and people on Instagram... The problem with millennials and Gen z is that they worry about the wrong things. Like John said, if she would’ve just called and said “I have 100K left on my house. Congratulate me “They’d most likely would. 😂

The root of her question was that she’s insecure and compares herself to anyone that appears to be doing better than her irl and on social media. If she doesn’t fix this, she will never be happy with her own accomplishments.

Just the middle class. The millionaires, the billionaires, and the corporations pay about 21%. And a lot of them pay nothing. This is the very reason we need equitable tax rates, and a wealth, tax on the rich.
