With the ring theory: I could see it still working if it’s something like “when there’s no light to weaken it, the Yami-Yami-no-mi’s power prevents even devil fruit from escaping to reincarnation! In such conditions, I can force the powers of other devil fruits into any vessel I desire!”
Would instantly explain why the darkness fruit was so important to his plans, and how they’re able to steal fruits so precisely.
The problem is... Teech isn't really there when they steal powers. At least, he doesn't seem to be around, unless he is omnipresent.
We also got hinted that devil fruits seek nearby fruits to reincarnate into. If you know exactly which fruit the devil fruit goes into, you can maybe manipulate it into getting inside a fruit you are holding.
Other than that, the yami yami no mi seems to be the source of Teech's ability to hold multiple devil fruit powers. It is also the weird one out from the logias and Teech sought after what he perceived as the strongest paramecia.
What if... His next devil fruit is the blue dragon's fruit? That would explain why he got obsessed with Kaido. Or... He could have found an even more powerful mythical zoan fruit. Maybe even another god fruit...
MAYBE the yami yami no mi is a god fruit, just like Nika and we are going to have a sun vs moon final battle.

What if Blackbeard used the Dark-Dark fruit to somehow absorb Whitebeard's soul before it departed? I'm not sure why it would need to be hidden from sight... perhaps the power needs to be used in complete darkness.
I suspect that Blackbeard is actually related to whomever released the devil fruits on the world rather than JoyBoy. It would fit the whole Sun God versus the Devil that we would get from Imu if they are the final villain.

If BB had captured the strawhats at Jaya would Robin have joined BB to stay alive?
On the one hand, she still didn't know the straw hats that well and had not traveled with them for more than a couple days/weeks.
On the other hand, she was very impressed with the strawhats for saving Alabasta, and she seemed to have a good understanding/respect for Luffy after he stopped crocodile.
What would have happened when Kuzan decided to look for Robin? Would BB have fought him to keep Robin (not for Robin but for her reading abilities)? Could BB and crew have beaten Kuzan at that point in the story?

I'm pretty sure that back in the days when BB got his 2nd devil fruit, the Gorosei themselves said "this never happened in history before" or something along these lines, so most probably Rocks never had a 2nd one, unless it was so stealthily used no one would ever notice, like Burgess' Strong-Strong fruit, if Rocks was a Buccaneer people would write it off as "oh, it's just his superhuman body, don't worry".
The most plausible thing to me would be that BB is a mix of two races, perhaps both Lunarian and Buccaneer, and somehow the perks of each race did not mix and technically a side of his body might be genetically different than the other.
Also, if not that, I would really consider some sort of siamese theory, sometimes in real life people are born with a dead siamese(conjoined twin) inside them rather than outside. Basically one fetus absorbs the other one into his own body during gestation. That would technically solve the multiple souls theory and why he is able to have two DFs, considering that the other fetus' soul might still reside in BB.
However, if anything "occult" like this is the case, I'm pretty sure Brook would be the one to reveal this to the Straw Hats if they ever face each other.

Yeah, even I believe in the siamese theory, it most definitely explains why bb has multiple dfs and doesn't sleep at all.... but there's one big flaw in it...
You see throughout the series we've consistently seen bbs teeths being inconsistent, sometimes he has 4 missing teeths, sometimes 3 missing teeths or ne has a full set of teeths which always keeps changing
Infact in chapter 579 (marineford chapter) bb was in the battlefield, in the start of the chapter he had 3 missing teeths and after just a few panels he suddenly had a full set of 32 teeths!! (He grew 3 teeths in just a few seconds???) No!! Because again a few panels later in the same chapter he again had 3 missing teeths....
Now if you think it was a drawing error from oda sensei, there one more instance I.e in impel down chapter 543 again the same happens infact in chapter 581 bb was shown to free the prisoners from lvl 6 and then he again had all his teeths (in 581 it was just a person informing senkogu about it)
So I refuse to believe it a mistake, moreover it's oda we're talking about... so i think bb doesn't just have multiple souls but he somehow has 2 more living bodies inside him but I'm not quite sure what exactly the "somehow" is!!

given how he knew that was the specific DF he wanted and the likelihood that it was the DF Rocks had, it feels pretty likely that theres at least something special about it that weve yet to see.
the fact it functions so much different than other Logia would also support that theory.

I think it's possible that Blackbeard is basically...everything. He might be a mix of EVERY race in the One Piece World. Fish Men, Giants, Buccaneers, Lunarians, etc. He might be the "perfect mutt" as it were, with the best attributes of all those races, completely by accident. I mean, what do you get if you mix all the colors together? Black! Both the absence and combination of all other colors and light.Those rings represent each one of his past family members. Each from a different race. All coming together in him.

After some of the info in Egghead i think Vegapunk's method for putting devil fruits into objects comes from Kumas ability to make intangible things become tangible. Taking the power out of the fruit and putting it into an object/weapon ect

8:30 That theory was disproved before it was even conceived. You need to have a mind to be able to control a DF power, that's why only Zoan fruits can be used for inanimate objects. A zoan fruit, like the Zou Zou no Mi, for example, gives the object animal intelligence. As an animal, Funkfried can be trained, and obey commands. Like "Go into your full zoan form and attack" or "come here and go back to your regular form".
As we've seen with Chopper, the intelligence granted by the DF persist no matter which form they are in. Chopper still has human intelligence on all his forms, even in full reindeer, and he is even capable of human speech when he shouldn't have the appropriate vocal apparatus. We also see some of the permanent mental effects with Lucci, as explained by Chopper again: Carnivorous animals make the user of the Zoan DF more bloodthirsty, the predatorial instincts of the animal permanently become part of the mind of the user.
How would a ring start a quake without a mind to give the command? If you still believe it's possible, try removing your brain and see if you can continue to operate. You need a nervous system, you need a mind to control your body.
Now, for the sake of argument, let's say that DFs have a will of their own, hence they have a mind. However:
a) How does Blackbeard command the ring to use its power every single time without uttering a word? Is he also a telepath? Did he train the ring to act based on the stances he strikes before the ring had a fruit, hence before it had a mind that would make it trainable? Even if he spoke orders, a ring has no ears. How did he train him?
b) If that's the case, what prevented Vegapunk from feeding Paramecia and Logia fruits to inanimate objects? It was clearly stated it can only be done with Zoans. If every fruit has its own mind, then why the limitation? The process to "feed" the fruit would be the same, or extremely similar, and as we've seen with Bonney, it can be done with Paramecia fruits as well. Why is it not a thing, if possible, when even someone as bottom of the barrel as Mr. 4 has a handcannon that ate the Inu Inu no Mi, model: Dachshund?
But more importantly, c) The "have their own will" thing was said solely and specifically about Zoan fruits, which fits what I explained previously. The "Zoan" clarification would've been completely unneeded if it was a rule for all DFs.
So no, the ring theory cannot be a thing. I'm sorry for those who want it to be a thing, it's always been impossible, it contradicts rules established before and after, and it cannot work even applying One Piece logic to it.

Its funny that you bring up my hero because my hope for BB was to be a villain like Shigi. Instead, though, he became more like a Palpatine where anytime he shows up, he's gonna be getting a plot W.
I thought of a way that Shanks could be the final villain. After Blackbeard & Imu are defeated, Luffy has become pirate King & armed himself with the One Piece & ancient weapons, he will try to destroy the Red Line & create the All Blue.
Shanks opposes this & will defend the red line & seek to destroy the ancient weapons. He means well but believes destroying the red line will cause catastrophic damage to the world.
So Luffy will have to get through Shanks to make his dream come true.
I'm still firmly on the "Luffy vs Shanks will be a Davy back fight over who gets to see what the one piece is" as a way for Shanks to force Luffy to fight him (to see if he's ready to step up so to speak)

Considering how in the 8th Volume of OP Magazine Oda himself drew pictures of Teach's two sisters & mother I wonder if they will be included in Blackbeard's backstory
I like the fact tekking said no one taking shanks seriously might agree on that part, like how probably shanks got his scar first hand and probably didnt expect anything off blackbeard before that eye scar, secondly whitebeard when shanks tried to save ace knowing the threat and grim ace would face, now might be the gorosei he might have a flash back convo with shanks about black beard thats after blackbeard does his canning plan that will shook the world.

If blackbeard is the only descendant of rocks then that explains why rocks put his soul in blackbeard's body after rocks' body was destroyed by garp and his revive revive fruit had nowhere to return him to.

That's an interesting theory, but it isn't true. Brook ate the Revive-Revive fruit well before Xebec's time, but he also still has it.
Maybe the yami yami no mi’s awakened power is what allows multiple fruits and is actually a mythical that waited for the perfect user

Recently if have been thinking about the picture of Blackbeard as a child. He is crying under a moon, aka at night. I wonder if this hinted at his inability to sleep. I also wonder if he is crying because it is hard for him not being able to sleep, as it would be in our world, especially as a child. But it is also possible that it doesn’t bother him at all.

Tekking may of heard this before but I think since we haven't seen a scene of black beard using crazy strong haki that end game has to be 3 devil fruit or more and awakening them. Think about it this way he has a crazy paramecia and logia already all he needs is a zoan.

My theory for why Blackbeard has multiple devil fruit is that he found a devil fruit called the dog dog fruit mythical variant model Cerberus that lets him consume 3 total devil fruits, he has a common theme of 3 but only has 2 known devil fruits, so if he had 3rd that only has the effect of allowing you to eat 2 other devil fruits it would explain it
