Dr. Berg, please do a video on the subject of Grounding/Earthing. I discovered this only yesterday yet I think it is already working magic for me. I know the science is not exactly abundant, but I would appreciate your input.

Because its outdated data, there is no generic percentage of protein usage in the body, consuming protein increases your protein turnover, as it allows you to replace oxidized and damaged proteins, which are excreted from the body, spiking nitrogen in your urine, this was misinterpreted as wasted protein when in actuality it better represents how long it had been since the test group increased their protein turnover rate. A high efficiency in this number just means that person from the test group that gave us the data had a higher protein diet, meaning he didnt have long periods of protein damage and oxidative build up.
The information he's provided is actually from an outdated study that has been disregarded thanks to recent advances in science. He deleted my comment that refutes him and it's been difficult trying to show people who follow him that not everything he states is 100% accurate. Heres what my comment was: First of all, let me iterate that the body doesnt "use" any proteins you consume. It absorbs them all into your amino acid pool and it's about 90-95% effective at this. Second, I'm a dietitian, and you are misleading the masses with outdated data. Increased protein intake increases protein synthesis, _AND_ breakdown, meaning old and damaged protein complexes are broken down and excreted when you consume fresh proteins, increasing the nitrogen content of your urine. This was wrongly associated with the idea that this nitrogen was coming from wasted proteins, and the information you're offering here is from an outdated study that tried to compare urine nitrogen content with protein intake across a test group of different proteins. This excerpt is from an article that is far more relevant, and it explains my point quite well. "We now know that things aren’t so simple. When you eat protein, your body doesn’t use it directly; instead, it breaks it down into its constituent amino acids and uses those to make its own proteins. When you eat more protein, your body can afford to replace more of its damaged or oxidized proteins, so that your protein synthesis and breakdown are both increased. In other words, eating more protein increases your body’s protein turnover.[30] The raised levels of urinary nitrogen then reflect, not a waste of eaten protein, but an increase in the breakdown of your body’s damaged or oxidized proteins."[31] The differences in these protein "repairs and raw materials" percents better represents how long the test groups went between meals with large protein contents, showing how many damaged components they were able to replace and a high percentage simply meant that test group had a high protein diet, resulting in fewer old/damaged proteins and thus reduced nitrogen content in urine. In actuality, each body is unique in its repair and synthesis regulation, there is no broad percentage of how much protein is used for energy or synthesis, what's important is that you're _getting_ protein, and that it is a complete protein. That's why wey is the body builders go-to over eggs, it is a complete protein that is easy to absorb thanks to its solubility, and it functions just like any other protein when consumed, it is broken down into its constituent parts, then used as material from making new proteins your body specifically needs. I'm not telling you to not eat eggs, do! They're a great source of selenium, and have some iron content, but their calcium inhibits your iron retention so it's somewhat reduced. But dont eat 6 eggs for protein content, eat a clean meat like salmon, or drink a shake, what matters is if you get it, not what kind it is.
@@An_Average_Arsonist all I want to know is what supplements I should take to better my muscle recovery? If in such case supplements should be taken. I follow a good Mediterranean diet.
@@firefox1145 muscle protein synthesis relies on a complex system of nutrients, not just protein, if you're looking to boost recovery and performance, consider getting your vitamin D status checked, most people are vitamin D defficient. I would also heartily recommend eating something with a polyunsaturated fat that is unprocessed, and a source of vitamin k, with your vitamin D, (avocados, pumpkin seeds, broccoli with cheese). avocados offer a plethora of elements critical to your body, folate, monounsaturated fats, extremely dense source of potassium, an all around king of electrolyte recovery. Pair it with a lean meat like chicken and a glass of orange juice for carbs/vitamin c (boosts iron retention) and you have a meal that will leave you feeling energized and focused post workout Edit: vitamin D is fat soluble, and absorbed better in the presence of vitamin k, just downing tablets wont improve your vitamin d, you need those elements to absorb that vitamin.

The other aminos have already been arranged into a protein, muscle or meat. An egg is just starting and has all the building blocks of life. It’s just cheaper, energy wise, for the human body to break down the egg. Think of it as the different between eating broccoli and eating broccoli sprout.

I agree. I watch Dr. Berg's videos and I like most of them. But then there are videos like this that make me question what he's saying. It is extremely difficult to find any "utilization rates" for protein so it would have been nice if he had cited the source studies here. At any rate, I eat plant-based and intermittently fast so eggs are out of the question for me. And of course the myriad of problems with eating high amounts of meat makes me even more interested in where Berg got his numbers from.
Don't believe everything, why would you trust a guy that don't work out for muscle gain, to tell you what to eat. It's not rocket science. “Toxic from all of the bugs” 🤣🤣 funniest thing I’ve heard in awhile, tell your friend that it’s actually quite the contrary; pasture raised hens as you obviously already know are much healthier & have more nutritious eggs literally because they eat bugs, and aren’t just fed a sub-optimal grain diet like caged & barn hens.

@@garybrinker4522 LMAO
Because its outdated data, there is no generic percentage of protein usage in the body, consuming protein increases your protein turnover, as it allows you to replace oxidized and damaged proteins, which are excreted from the body, spiking nitrogen in your urine, this was misinterpreted as wasted protein when in actuality it better represents how long it had been since the test group increased their protein turnover rate. A high efficiency in this number just means that person from the test group that gave us the data had a higher protein diet, meaning he didnt have long periods of protein damage and oxidative build up.
Where the ratios come from? I have never seen such ratios. What about pure isolate ratio? Is it supposed to be better than whey.
Hi Dr. Berg. That protein utilization rate of whey protein is really shockingly low. May I ask what's your source that states such utilization rates?
The information he's provided is actually from an outdated study that has been disregarded thanks to recent advances in science.
He deleted my comment that refutes him and it's been difficult trying to show people who follow him that not everything he states is 100% accurate.
Heres what my comment was:
First of all, let me iterate that the body doesnt "use" any proteins you consume.
In other words, eating more protein increases your body’s protein turnover.[30] The raised levels of urinary nitrogen then reflect, not a waste of eaten protein, but an increase in the breakdown of your body’s damaged or oxidized proteins."[31]
The differences in these protein "repairs and raw materials" percents better represents how long the test groups went between meals with large protein contents, showing how many damaged components they were able to replace and a high percentage simply meant that test group had a high protein diet, resulting in fewer old/damaged proteins and thus reduced nitrogen content in urine.
Pair it with a lean meat like chicken and a glass of orange juice for carbs/vitamin c (boosts iron retention) and you have a meal that will leave you feeling energized and focused post workout
Edit: vitamin D is fat soluble, and absorbed better in the presence of vitamin k, just downing tablets wont improve your vitamin d, you need those elements to absorb that vitamin.

Very useful, comme toujours !! Merci beaucoup.
If eggs or beef have same essential amino acid profile. How does the body determine to use 49% from egg and not 49% from other protein sources??

If you eat eggs post workout, you will not see good results haha. You need carbs with protein (limit fats) in first meal or shake after. This is fact and nothing new. You limit fats to speed up the absorption post workout.
