@@gregchilders6778 absolutely. Bear creek sells barrels separately. I’d suggest if you see something you want to buy it quickly. There products sell out fast and sometimes don’t come back in stock for months.
I know I’m replying a year later but just letting you all know a lot of barrels uppers are on sale at bear creeks website. Bear claw fluted barrels low as $114 and saw a .300 blackout ar complete for $349
I have the Bear Claw, it gives the barrel a really cool and higher end look. I would love to see a Stainless Nitride barrel with the diamond flutes, that I think would be impressive.
BCA used to be my go to. Lately they have more than damn near doubled their prices. Jan.2020 I bought an upper that cost me $205, great deal. May 2020 bought the same exact upper again for a twin build, cost me $297. Didn't complain too much as the pandemic hit and prices went up everywhere. Now, the same upper is $389. Part of what attracted me to BCA was a very decent product at a very reasonable price, they're beginning to be over priced for what you get. Prices come back down, I'll be building my 3rd BCA. If not, I'm rolling with Trybe Defense with Optics Planets for a better quality upper for $319. For $400+ you're better of custom building from the ground up
I have the Bear claw one in 223 wylde but would like to have the diamond flute to look like the Bear claw colors in 6.5 Grendel or in 6mm arc when you get around to making them.
I have a old DPMS 16in ss bull barrel upper would this make a good truck gun are they good uppers back 10 12yrs ago ? Can't put iron sights due to off set gas block but what about a trigicon mro? Or should I try to sell it and go more mil spec?
Glad you kept the box w/ my address off the screen for that last Diamond fluted. Thing arrived 2 days later, she’s gorgeous & perform flawlessly. Ive bought 4 diff uppers from BCA & couldn’t be happier w/ their performance. Only drawback is the inability for the customer to select different size handrails for each upper. I ended up having to buy 2 additional ones for my builds
I'll share an idea with you since im a bear creek arsenal fan and customer. The fluting of the barrel in such a way as to act as a harmonics resonator the wave up and down crossing to the end as to change barrel harmonics for maximum accuracy. If you do it and get it to work call it a Tarwater fluted BARREL . after my Cherokee great great great grandfather CHIEF Tarwater. 👍
@@Bear_Creek_Arsenal look up the barrel harmonics videos its a wave up and down and the points cross by changing the distance of the intersecting points it should change the harmonic pitch of the barrel . kinda like a tuning fork or bell shaving it will change the pitch.
Its about performance Who cares if it looks cool.? I know that I do? I know if it's from BCA its going to perform and at the price point it's one of those things that somebody can definitely afford to upgrade to? There's plenty of other companies out there that don't come close to the performance of Bear Creek Arsenal aw higher price points so do be able to afford not only a decent performing upper but also be able to add on the upgrades like the fluted barrel is one of the many reasons why I love Bear Creek Arsenal anyone out there doing a Glock build they have great Glock barrels for cheap it's how I originally stumbled across these guys
I sent a 20” SS fluted 6.5 Grendel barrel back to them, it shot more like a shotgun than a rifle. I ran factory ammunition and various hand loads consisting of 6 different powders and 5 different bullets, smallest group was 2 1/8” at 100 yards. Funniest thing was I never got a reply from BCA, NO RESPONSE!!
Hey Daniel, glad you like it! We have very low stock of everything right now due to high demand, but are working hard to build it back up soon. Keep an eye out on the website and social media for when things come back in stock
I gotta have the one that you mentioned is your favorite. The next to the last one you showed. looks like it's a 16 inch barrel which is what I want in 223 wylde or 556 either, but I can not find it your web site.
Hey Ken, unfortunately we're out of stock of a lot of uppers right now due to high demand. Keep an eye out on social media for when they come back in stock
@@Bear_Creek_Arsenal you have all the pieces to build one though. I just now ordered a complete upper side charge, 16 inch barrel 12 inch MLOK hand guard. Then I ordered your stainless steel spiral flute barrel when I get these I'll swap out the barrels and I'll have that identical Bear Claw upper that's in your video. What I can not understand is why BCA would not do this barrel swap for me. BCA is a great company and I've bought several complete uppers, but the customer service for a simple request is lacking...

Fluting does help with cooling. But you stated that it makes them heat up slower. This isn't necessarily true, Because when you lower the mass you also lower the amount of time it takes to heat it up, at a given round count. For example pencil barrels heat up quick and then whip around like spaghetti. So depending on heat dissipation added by the flutes, you might find your barrel heats up faster with them. But it will also cool off faster than without them. Fluting can also has an effect on barrel harmonics. Given an AR is a semi auto gun this effect might not matter but it does happen.
Have a spiral fluted 22", 224valkyrie. Taped it off and used brake caliper red high heat paint. Filled in flutes with red. My son thought it looked really cool. Lol
Yep, perfect Christmas themed build. I would actually love one of these in red and white, then blue upper/lower with snowflake pattern (if the upper/lower are machined from SS or Titanium, then I would use my laser to remove the blue paint so the snowflakes would be shiny polished metal). Why this weird Holiday themed build? Because I could, no other logical reason. I think it would look silly running around in a Santa hat and fake beard too, so all the more reason to say "why not?", lol, life's too short to take seriously!
Why the heck would you want aside charging ar-platform? The point of the charging handle being on top is its ambidextrous, i.e. your firing hand nerver leaves the weapon and you maintain positive workspace.
Yeah, so this is a sales pitch because they don't give any cons. And I'm sooo concerned about how my friends and range buddies will be impressed with my gear. Look, I'll shoot a rusty piece of dog crap if it'll hit the bullseye and functions properly. Shooting isn't supposed to be a debutant ball. It's about accuracy and function. But I guess if that's what it takes to get more fems shooting, more power to ya!
I have a question: I have a 556 ar15 (top charging) without fluting and it has the mlok rail. How do I tell if it is the 14.5 with a pinned muzzle or a 16 with a threaded barrel? Removing the barrel is also not an option
Hey, I would suggest taking off your handguard and measuring from where the barrel nut meets the upper receiver to the beginning of the muzzle device, then add 5/8 inches to that measurement (if you don't want to take off the flash hider)
You gave absolutely no information about "Pros and Cons" in the title. You gave absolutely no information about how fluting may affect barrel harmonics, accuracy, heat (no data). What is that data?
