    I don’t know why you don’t have 5 million subscribers!?!? I’ve been around guns most of my life but hadn’t gotten into the AR world until recently. This information just isn’t out there. I feel like a lot of people on you tube just run on assuming everyone knows this info. Thank you for all the detail!!

    Good vid, Randy! I was happy to see the Faxon Gunner series included in your lineup. I have the 16" Gunner .223 Wylde, and it's sweet! Shrouded by a 15" AT3 Tactical M-LOC and backed with a Geissele Super 42, it is an absolute pleasure to shoot!!! I'm sure handguards and buffer systems are coming in this series, and I'm curious to see if either of my choices make the cut!

    The only way to know if a barrel is head spaced correctly is by using good head space gauges (PTG) and knowing the proper go and field gauge..There is a difference between a 223 and 5.56 go head space gauges..The only way to know if the chamber was cut properly is with a function gauge and or with a throat gauge..I have seen many new high end barrels with poorly cut or forged chambers..Short chambers are very common..

    I have rarely seen anyone firing a AR15 with accuracy in mind, It is usually a matter of emptying the magazine down short range targets as fast as possible, accuracy is never mentioned.
    I don't think barrel quallity is a priority.

    Great content great topic: So how do you know what you barrel is made out of if, it is not marked. the only stamping/writing on my barrel is 5.56 1/8. outside of that I don't know who makes my barrel or what it is made of. if you can help figure it out or at least narrow it down I would appreciate it...

    • @At3tactical
      @At3tactical  Рік тому +2

      Thanks! I'd say one of the first question is if your barrel is loose (not installed) or if it's currently on a functional AR. If it's on a functional AR, first thing I'd do is figure out if the barrel came OEM with your AR or if it was built by someone else. If it's OEM, it's pretty easy to find who made it with some internet searches.
      If it's an unknown loose barrel or otherwise, might be worth throwing a photo on some forums or chat boards to see if anyone can ID the same on their rifle. Without knowing the orgin or having distinguishing marks, it can be pretty tough to tell. There are a LOT of barrel manufacturers out there these days.

    • @crashdsnowman1
      @crashdsnowman1 6 місяців тому

      The fact that it is 1:8 twist means the maker had more sense than most and it's probably a barrel of better quality.

    Hey randy. Does live phytoplankton really help with dynoflaglates? . I have a aero precision 18 inch barrel for my ar 15. It's a complete areo precision build. I want to re chamber it into a 762x 39 . Or should I just build another gun?

    • @Pegasus209
      @Pegasus209 2 роки тому +2

      Be easiest to build a complete upper in 7.62x39 so you can just pin it on your existing lower. Of course, you'll probably have to change your buffer, too... adjusted for barrel length/gas system.

    IMO the best barrel profiles are heavy where they need to be and then taper down so it has less weight out front .
    Criterion Core , BA Hanson , Roscoe K9 , and SOLGW V2 are among of the best barrel profiles . Of course there are many others . I excluded HF barrel profiles because they are super expensive. Noveske or Hodge HF barrels do have awesome profiles .
    For price and Performance BA Hanson , Roscoe K9 and SOLGW V2 are super hard to beat unded 200ish bucks..
    I personally MIDWEIGHT-ish profile barrel which a continuous taper . Best example of that is the Criterion Core . Roscoe K9 is very simlar ans half the cost .
    I am not a fan of Gov Profile barrels . To me they make 0 sense . For a long time i ran Colt SOCOM or Centurion MIDWEIGHT barrels . I realized i dont own a select fire nor will i ever need that HBAR barrel for general purpose usage. My onky caveat to heavy profile barrel is more precision type work where barrel harminics is a real thing . Thats when I'd want 0.850 profile that tapers down to 0.750 .
    Im personally not a fan of pencil barrels but i understand why they exist. The lightest I'd personally go is BA HANSON 0.625 Barrel because it does taper down and is slighly heavier than pencil barrel .
    I prefer 13.7" - 14.5 Mid length..
    Thats my 2 cents . Definitely take with a grain of salt because im no expert . Im just a dude who loves shooting lol..
