Hi there, thanks so much for featuring our hack Final Fantasy IV Ultima! Hope you and everyone here will get to check it out and enjoy it! Feel free to reach out if anyone has any questions and/or comments! Cheers!! :)
Still my fav final fantasy, nice to see another reason to play it again, now on my analogue pocket!
U the man!!! Greatest hack to my favorite game of all time! Pure joy
Absolutely love this hack. Thanks for all the effort!
One of the finest, truly well deserved.
I've heard great things about your hack (I'm from the FF6 community, and a co developer of RotDS) I look forward to playing it myself one of these days
Yo, creator of 100 Rooms of Enemies here (alongside Mellonpizza), I want to thank you for the shoutout. There is an update that's in the works which me and Mellon are slowly working on, mainly a "Nightmare Mode" alongside unlockable characters. It also compiles both Arcade and Do or Die into the same rom as the upcoming Nightmare difficulty, so there's definitely something to look forward to. I am currently on a mission to finish an entirely different hack with EvilGuy0613, which you'll have to stay tuned for that.
Oh, if you guys want to put something into perspective (to further showcase how connected the SMW community is), I also composed a number of songs for Sicari 2: The Brink of Time. Specifically, all the themes relating to the villain, "TS-94" (including the final boss themes, available to listen to on my channel or searching "Sicari 2 the last battle ost" in the search bar). Me and Yukivee are good friends, so I was happy to help them out.
Very impressed with your work my friend
You are a shining example of the new and beautiful decentralised innovation/hacker ethos which is changing the world as we type. Thank you for your sincere work and ingenuity!
You guys do some amazing work. I would love to see more new original games made using the engines of old games like the Sicari games. there's so much that can be done and the SNES still has so much potential
As someone who's been playing it on & off for years now, everything about it, including the simplicity of it, Is Solid. Fucking.Gold.
Hey, thanks for covering A Plumber for all Seasons! I'm glad people are enjoying a thing I made. :) I'm actually hoping to move on to modern game dev some time soon and make an indie game in a similar vein.
💙💙
I loved that hack you did an amazing job
Wow, your design looks amazing. Well done!
Great work there, congratulations
Incredible work! The pixel art is gorgeous. Anything you day will be a day one purchase for me.
Sicari creator here, thank you so much for the shoutouts!
Thanks to Mr. Drunk I was able to download Sicari and in the last 10 minutes, I am really enjoying it. I can only hope you could one day port this to your own engine and publish the game :)
Thank you so much!
Wow, I, honest to god, love your ROMHacks. I hope someday you make a game from scratch someday because both of them are really well polished and very fun to play with.
my favorite part in Sicari is when she killed the cartel boss’s whole family in front of him
Looks good
Hi! Thanks for the shoutout for Super Mario Kart - Epic Racers! Amazing to see so many people enjoying our labor of love. ☺
This series of videos is quickly becoming a list of "100+ ROM hacks you have to play before you die" -simply amazing, man!
Ultra ClayFighter's next release will blow everyone's mind; Zool, ComboKyo, Streetwize, DangerMD and the rest of the team have made ClayFighter Tournament Edition everything it was promised to be and much more. Fighting game fans will recognize a ton of modern references keeping the originals parody style but taking it to a whole new level. Thank you for sharing their hard work!
What I love from this, apart from finding awesome hacks is how the creators pop up on the comments, so you get to tell them how amazing is their work. Kudos to all of them!
This is now my favourite series on this channel.
Same
X3
Shoutouts to Pinci, he contributes music for the Sicari series! Really cool to see, always classy as heck 💙
Some of these ROM HACK Designers should be hired by Nintendo
they will be incarcerated and fined instead
Sir, every morning I wake up to see a new video from you is like waking up in the mid 90s to my best friends showing me another new and awesome game. I love everything you've done and everything you've made. I've watched almost everything, saying that because I'm sure there were some that played while sleeping, and appreciate every single video you've made. Continue this amazing service you legend!
Best thing about Drunk is that he's all about the games. He doesn't cater to collectors or emulation specifically. It's just here's a game or romhack and what I think of it. I often come to this channel just to watch videos on repeat and if I see a game I'd like to play (and don't already have it yet) I go to my favorite rom site and play it.
I stumbled upon Sicari 2 last week and my 12 year old son and I put a solid 2 hours into it over the weekend. An absolutely beautiful with tons of polish and a nice balance between difficulty and accessibility. Definitely one of the best rom hacks I've ever played.
SMW: A Plumber For All Seasons looks so awesome. Might become the first ROMhack I'll play. Love your ROMhack series! Sicari looks amazing too
Don't forget the additional bugfixes and graphics changing patches for FFIV ultima, it's so nice to see the Characters in the record keeper style and overall better enemy graphics
Smw rom hacks were a huge part of my childhood…would play them endlessly, crazy how all that content was free and made usually by 1-3 people purely out of passion. Fond memories
Love these videos man, good work getting the good hacks publicity.
This channel is the Tits man!!! So awesomely well done and covers the most diverse assortment of everything Retro... The love you have for retro gaming is so great... You and AVGN are my favorite people to listen to for different reasons, but the passion in the different approaches is apparent and I appreciate all of the time and effort you put into this channel....
I haven't really played any ROMhacks in years. I used to love trying them out, but hated sifting through thousands of awful and non-functional hacks. You help me go for a few that look REALLY great. I think I'm gonna grab a few of these today and prepare for some winter gaming!
I've always wanted a listing of good romhacks to spice up my emulation gaming.
You are one sick oscar.
Thank you for these Rom Hack videos. There are many I would have missed had it not been for these. Keep up the good work.
Hell yeah, this has become my favorite series of videos on this channel
Hopefully one day you can talk again about type of games for the SNES or other consoles, like soccer games, basketball games, games with dogs in them, and so on
absolutely love these romhack videos! I could watch them all the time!
Oh man Drunk thanks for finding all these! I've been wanting to get into (back) streaming but I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what to stream. I think I'm going to grab some of these romhacks and go from there!
Love the shout-out for Final Fantasy IV Ultima! For those interested, the current version has even more content not mentioned in the video, including some never before seen things (integrated Fat Chocobo, a full Beastiary)!
So happy you're making videos regularly again!
Hey, thank you for still testing and publishing videos about SNES games and romhacks! I really appreciate your work
I absolutely love your content. You're so positive and chill. I love how you end every episode with "have a great rest of your day", it really brightens things up for me. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Such an incredible list!! Can't wait to play these. Thanks for taking the time to find these and shed light on them!
Damn, plumber for all seasons looks tight af. Thank you for the work my man
Outstanding episode. One of the best ones yet in a long series of great ROM hack reviews.
I’m glad you said “not that Zuul” because I thought the same thing 😅.
And it’s pretty cool that creators are recognized and they even comment on the video!
Another great ROMhack video. I am a sucker for any excuse to replay FFIV so Ultima sounds great. It was neat to see some practice ROM coverage too, those can be fun to play with for regular people too haha. Thanks for making all the awesome videos!
Always ready for these videos. Hell yeah!
Love this series and the attention you're giving to these great romhacks. Keep it up!
Thank you for being a guide to an ancient world that is reformed & revitalized.
I love your work. These are among my favorite. What a lovely way to kick off my Tuesday ♡♡
What a surprise that this came out now of all times, when I’ve just begun homebrewing my Wii. Thanks 🙏
I wanna thank you for making these videos and hope you have a great rest of your day.
Here I was, patching games for SNES while watching your previous videos and BAM you released a part 6?? You're a legend! Thank you for these!
I like hearing the outro since its a new recording each time.
Really great way to start the day.
FFIV Ultima and the Sicari hacks look like something I need to jump on first! Always impressed by what the community comes up with! They truly do what Nintendon't!
Always love seeing a new SNESDrunk video
This is easily my favorite type of videos from this channel, thanks a lot!
Keep an eye out for Super Metroid Subversion as well :)
Always cool to see another rom hack video.
Thank you very much Mr drunk.
I always look forward to watching your rom hacking videos.
Have a great rest of your day, awesome list 👍
Thanks for a great start to my day. You have a great rest of the day, too.
These all look really cool. Thanks as always.
Excellent review 🦈
One I recommend is mario world 30th anniversary. Came out last year and it's a homage to the classic. It changes it up and also has new challenges.
Thanks for these, will have to check these out
Great that you've included Sicari and Epic Racers, I also tested both games in detail.
They really did some outstanding things, breaking the bounderies of what's normally possible for romhacks.
I played a lot of Mario World rom-hacks and both 100 room of enemies and A plumber for all seasons are fantastic. There are many of them that are really good, like "Super Mario World Central Production 2", "Sicari 2", "Mario's Mystery Meat", "VLDC9", "Twelve Magic Orbs", " New Super Mario World 2: Around The World", "Super Wakana Land", "Lakitu's Great Adventure 2" and the list goes on. The Super Mario World hacking community is fantastic and one of the best one in my opinion.
These are great.
Love this series.
these are some of my favorite videos
I love your rom hacks series!!!
Love these! Keep it coming
Thanks for all of this romhacks, Plumper for all seasons is for instance a game that makes you feel the console has a new release, thank u so much
Sicari looks awesome. Looks like a completely different game. I gotta try it.
Once again outstanding!
Thank you for this awesome video! You have a fantastic day as well!
Sicari looks absolutely amazing! Thats my favorite kind of Rom hack, when super talented super dedicated fans create something totally new.
Thank you for mentioning Donkey Kong Country: Boss Blitz! I am the creator of it and its sequel Donkey Kong Country 2: Brigand Barrage. It all started as a fun little experiment after playing the DKC Competition Cartridge, when I ported its level transition code to the original game. I then thought of having the game transition from one boss level to another similar to Kirby Super Star's Arena mode, and this project was born. I added a timer partly based on Super Mario Kart's logic so that players could see how well they did, as well as color swaps (inspired by Super Smash Bros. and other fighting games) for a bit more substance.
Some preliminary design work has been completed on an untitled (as of writing) Donkey Kong Country 3 boss rush, but I'm now working on a DKC2 project with H4v0c21 which adds Donkey and Kiddy Kong to the game. This is sort of a reboot of my old Donkey's Kong Quest ROMhack.
Are they Dr Who weeping angels in the Mario kart rom?!
hey, I love your stuff! a cool video might be homebrew games. there's a whole scene of new games that have come out and some even have modern cartridge prints!
Finally some love for FF4 Ultima! Best way to play FF4 today (if you enjoy extra content and challenging superbosses)
I love that the people who made these rom hack are in the comments. It's awesome to see their work get some attention.
Always impressive to see these labors of love
These Rom Hacks of every SNES games are incredible to watch and it’s very tempting enough to play these, especially that Sicari game. They took some assets from Super Mario World and made it into something original. Simply amazing.
Making Tuesdays Thursdays and rom hacks great again
This series is a favorite
So many game to go back and replay for a whole new experience
Thanks for telling me about A Plumber For All Seasons. That game was incredible. Would have blown our minds if officially released back in the day.
"Also the music matches"...
For a second there I was like: "I have never been on the moon? Dude, who are you?"
Cool. A Plumber For All Seasons is just what I needed right now.
I love these videos and most of the games mentioned have achievements if you are into that kind of thing on retroachievements
4:31 "Super Baldy Kart, made by 'Dirtbag' "
I'm sorry I just can't 🤣🤣🤣
Really enjoyed this video series!
Its nice seeing romhacks get more focus.
kinda dissapointed that you didnt include
Romancing Saga 3 AABETA/BOKUNO somewhere
since its my absolute favorite rom hack ever made
but i guess since its jp only alot of people dont know about it or dont wanna try it :(
Some people have such imagination.. great video, thank you.
Finally ! the kind of super metroid hack i've been waiting since 1994
God bless the rom hacking community. Practice roms is an interesting concept
You're so cool to the max extreme mountain dew 20/20 bro
Slick Rick McGriff. I wish I could muster enough patience to put together and play ROM hacks. Stuff like that gets backlogged because I have too much crap I haven't played already.
I just got WAY TOO excited for the FFIV patch. LET'S GOOOOO. I play through that game every couple years and would love a different experience.
Same
This is exactly what the world needs more of, snes drunk! 💪
Great video! I always enjoy discovering rom hacks! I don't think I had heard of practice roms, but I could definitely see them as an asset to most speedrunners to train on certain games.
Mario World hacking never seems to stop amazing me! It seems like one of (if not) the most hacked 16 bit game! I had seen _A Plumber For All Seasons_ before, but had not looked too deep into it (as there like hundreds of Mario World hacks). It looks really incredible! The hacker's effort and passion is clearly evident! I had seen _Sicari_ as well, but didn't realize how extensive a hack it was beyond just the graphics! Definitely will try these out any way I can! 😄
Man, love that Super Mario Logic hack.
A Plumber For All Seasons looks Amazing. Someone clearly has a passion for SNES era Super Mario games.
😄👍
Love the channel!!..Retro 4 Life!!...Also..the 3 hour intro video....SNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNES DRUNK!!!
Omg clay fighter! My childhood!
Oh man, I loved that moon theme from DuckTales!
Sicari is one of my favorite rom hacks to date. Excluding inscrutable Pokemon hacks, maybe my favorites of all time.
I recently played the Ancient Chozo hack. It is a must play and perhaps one of my top favorites.
I wish you a great rest of your day too, SNES Drunk!
I'm glad a lot of room hack developers acknowledged Drunk by commenting on this video!
A Plumber for all Seasons is fantastic. One of the highest quality hacks I've ever played.
Love ‘em!
I can't remember if you talked about NewER Super Mario Wii, but that's my favourite romhack on any platform.
