In Canada the price is more, about $199.99 and the cost of the Premium app is $12.99 per month. I don’t think I will need the premium app which as you say I should know after 6 months trial. I think its greedy of the company to charge that fee.

I just bought a Charge 5. I had a Sense, but I love the smaller form factor, and I really didn't give up much. Simpler watch and the display is nice and bright. Amazon had a deal, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did that.

I love my Charge 5. I have had smart-watches and the charge 4 before it. The best thing compared to those is the compact size. It is the only device I have been able to sleep with it on, and this had been extremely helpful for me.
Between the Charge 5 and the fitbit Aria, over the past 2 months, while I have been trying to get better sleep and lose weight. I am looking forward to walking up in the morning and checking my progress.

    Hi great review.
Had my Charge 5 a year now,. I do like it and like you said for the most part it works very well, and the interface is very good. I believe the sleep tracking is very accurate. I can usually correlate my awake periods pretty closely, and I know the REM time works well.
I jog with it, so I do miss a split time feature, but I knew it did not have that feature when I bought it. The run time heart rate monitor seems pretty accurate to me, until I turn on the GPS, when things seem to get a bit strange, and the higher heart rates are missing. The GPS is not useful for me, I have a hard time figuring it out, so I keep it turned off. My ancient Garmin does a much better job.
With my settings, I am getting ~1 week between charging, so that is good. My wife got hers the same time I did, but seems to recharge a bit more often, when pretty much the same settings as me.
I also use the wakeup alarm/buzzer, works fine, I have it on all the time.
BTW. Odd question, but in the video, are you running in Cataldi Park ?

    I love my charge 5!
The only complaint I have for it is the clock faces!
So many of them have slashes cut out of them! There’s only a few that are basic, showing just the time, date and a stat! (My fave is the purple one you used) if we could download faces like with the versa/sense, or if they gave more simple options (and got ride of the weird ones), the charge 5 would be perfect!

I don't know if it only happens to me, but when there are two of the same model at home, it interferes when updating the data with the phone and often takes a long time loading or shows errors.

My Charge 4 broke where the band attaches too. I hadn't mistreated it. When I got the Charge 5 I saw it has a completely different band attachment, so probably there was lots of trouble with the 4 band. I just read a bunch of review for the Charge 5, looking for help on an unrelated issue. No one at all mentioned the band breaking which I thought was an excellent sign. I can't tell if it's metal but i think it will work well.

The sad thing is I had/have the Charge 5. I preordered and was one to receive the first batch released. Within six months I found out it isn't water resistant "waterproof" at all. I typically would take my watch off to do dishes but one night I decided to keep it on since it is supposed to be water proof up to whatever depth. No, it died and was completely useless. They sent a replacement that just died. I ran the update as normal and the device completely shut down. They do not carry a waranty on the replacement, therefore, you will receive a 35% discount code to buy a new one. Save your money and get soemthing better.

I don’t know maybe I got a lemon, but my Fitbit charge five has been nothing but problems. I have the most problems with it syncing the data correctly. I get my sleep pattern chopped up like into three or four sections when the only reason that should be happening is if I actually woke up and left the bed and was up for more than 15 minutes and I never have been.
I have had to call customer support twice. I’ve spent hours on the phone restarting, resetting shutting off Bluetooth turning it on deleting the app, putting that back on pairing it on. This has been nothing but a nightmare. I got it for Christmas present and I’m ready to give it back to the person that gave it to me and say go get your money back. I have it on manual in the in the watch goes off in the middle of the night lighting up here and lighting up there even though it’s on manual.
I’m not happy with it at all. I don’t know why people thinks it’s the greatest thing. Every time I open my phone I have to go in sync it cause it doesn’t automatically do that and quite often it all go through the night loading without it having completely syncing so my data is not gonna be correct. Sad 😞
