- Hey Super Nerds!! This episode was so amazing, definitely my favorite episode so far. Seeing them risk it all for each other, hearing their pained screams through the door after Percy slammed it shut to fight the chimera even though mans was about to keel over. They're setting up his fatal flaw of loyalty and I'm eating it up. Athena's already showing her true colors, letting a chimera in to attack her daughter because of what PERCY did, paralleling Medusa and Poseidon. And Grover's Pan journey is being set up, too!!! So many things happened in such a short episode.

This was the best episode so far, I love that Percabeth is beginning to come through. The makeup for Percy was great he looked so ill. I think we must get the first hug in 5 😊 As usual Abby your reaction was great, hope your fingers better 😂.

Trust me, some good youtubers have lost my interest because they're just not giving the show an actual watch, they went in expecting it to be bad and they're nitpicking every little detail and if even one line is changed the flip out and say the show is awful.
Hell, one minute on reddit will tell you that.
Personally, I love the show. And I love it more with the understanding that this show is an adaptation. it ADAPTS the story into a new medium, fixes things in the books (such as the Arch's distance from the Mississippi River) and gets adds content (the flashbacks)
what really makes a good adaptation is capturing the heart of the series, not show picture by picture moments from the story (you want one that does that? It's called the last Airbender by m Night Shyamalan. give it a watch)
and this show really does capture the heart of the series
I know, I’ve stopped watching some channels because of how much they’re absolutely TEARING it to pieces. And yeah, Reddit is awful, too.
We’ve waited so long for a good adaptation, and almost 4 years since the tv show was announced and now it’s here and we’re getting one!!! I can’t help but giggle and kick my feet at all of the amazing things they’re doing. It’s so sad that it’s getting hate for such dumb, little things. And I’ve seen people *still* talking about acting and lack of chemistry?!?! They’re amazing, they have a good dynamic, and even if they are stiff at times (which, sure they are sometimes), they’re kids!!! They’re just getting into the swing of things
And I agree, I love some of these additions and changes they’ve done. And it works so well! These kids embody their characters SO perfectly and I’m absolutely in love with this show🥹
I agree. God, it's awful out there. A lot of them are being so unreasonable too.

I feel like i've been surrounded by some book purists and it's hard to enjoy and fangirl too much when they're so critical about the changes. so i'm glad to see people enjoying the show as much as i do! your reaction feels like i'm watching it with a friend and we're just both so happy and emotional about the series. ugh. i'm so excited to see more of the series and your reactions!
Aww, thank you!!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the show, too! I know, it really is hard to when there’s so many people dumping on the show. They’re being WAY too harsh on the show, it’s so upsetting. I understand being critical in some respects, because I have been too (to a degree). But it doesn’t deserve all of the negativity it’s receiving, the actors are all doing such an amazing job and the writers and show runners are doing a wonderful job keeping the spirit of the series. It’s such a good show, I love it so much😭
Now that I’ve watched the whole video! 😜 This episode was so good! 🤩 I loved the changes they made with the Arch being a temple of Athena and there being consequences for their actions! The character development was great, especially between Percy and Annabeth! I loved that she was more open and vulnerable with him.
It also appears that she’s dropped the whole, “I shouldn’t like you because our parents are rivals” thing. They appear to be catching feelings a little sooner than in the books and I am definitely not mad at it 🤣💙
I did too, it made it higher stakes, I love it! And Percabeth already Percabething just makes me so happy, they’re so cute😭

FYI, the first reference to Percy on a swim team comes in the first book of the Trials of Apollo series, when Percy is a senior in high school, and it's expanded upon in The Chalice of the Gods.
Oh my gosh, you’re so right, thank you! Now that you say that, I recall the HS part at the end at the end of the hoodies and things people make, replicating his swim team gear. I read all of the books straight through in May - July of 2020 and I guess they’ve sort of blending😂
In the book water did heal him, but it has to be Natural water, so Annabeth thought any water, but then she mentioned to grover that maybe it has to be natural water when They were splashing him. She was telling Grover to get Percy to the river to heal him before heading to los angeles ( when she was trying to sacrifice Herself) because the Mississippi river is what is next to the St. Louis Arch. I like that the changes They are making show the trio’s relationship grow faster than what it felt like in the book. In the Percy still didnt realize Annabeth thought of him as a friend when They were in St. Louis. Annabeth had to tell him she thought of him as a friend , but in a later chapter. The book is in Percy’s point of view , but Rick said the show wasnt so the audience is seeing perspectives from Annabeth and Grover as well, which i like.
Yeah, I don’t know how I didn’t remember that, since that’s what heals him in the book and the water makes him stronger in general. I don’t know what I was going on about😂 I love the changes, too! They care so much for each other already and it’s so sweet! We’re getting to see so much more of each of them and it’s wonderful, I love that it’s not just Percy’s POV. We’re seeing the true beginning of Percabeth and the moment Annabeth fell for him at Medusa’s and him being a dork. I also loved that in episode 2 we got to see Grover and the Cloven Council! That was amazing!!! I love it so much🥹

I just finished watching all your reactions. You are now one of my favorites. I love when a true fan can see what they're doing with show. I've seen some haters reviews. I don't enjoy them, won't subscribe. You however, I did subscribe to. Can't wait for your season 2 reactions.
