Oh wow, you couldn't get that fancrappytastic paint finish like that if you tried! Sort of looks pretty cool though! Yep, I had that same effect on the Lunchbox body that you kindly sent me, it looked great with the Tamiya acrylic green and then I went and ruined it with a Halfords clear coat! Lesson learnt, mate! Hi Mark, since filming this last Wednesday, I have now lacquered the rims and they look pretty cool actually. And once the tyres are on, you're not really going to notice them once they are spinning round on the axles. Like Addam said, a bit of rust wash and they look like rusty wheels so I might go down that route at a later point during the build 👍
I've got plenty of lemonade making skills after the amount of lemons that have come my way 😝

Yeah man, there's always a way of salvaging rc products, and no excuse for wasting parts!
Must admit, painting wheels is something I have stayed away from.... although I have dyed a few in the past which worked well!
Those wheels you painted ended up with a similar finish to Taylors lunchbox after we strapped those fireworks to it! 😂

Been a bit quiet at the Green hawks camp over the last few weeks....
I've got the next Tesco time trials planned (xvo1 lancia, king blackfoot, blitzer beetle, RC10 B6. 2,and our brushless speed run mustang)
Even got a new leader board made up with all the times so far.....
But unfortunately I can't get Taylor and moo moo out to film it, they keep saying it's too cold.... bloody youth of today have got no stamina!
It would be great to get your name up on the board with a few of your creations at some point mate!
We did film a strip down and service /bearing upgrade on one of my superstock brushed motors last week, but the file corrupted and we lost the lot..... shame cos it was such a funny video, oh well. 😞
Anyway fella, hope all is well your end.... bet your jobs been a bit cold over the last few days, I know mine has! 👍 👍 👍

@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC Hahaha, youngster's these days don't know what cold is! Nothing that a woolly jumper and a warm coat won't sort out, that's for sure 👌
Looks like my little brown turd (Austin All-Agro) could be up your leaderboard but runs a 3900kv so would have to be in a class of its own. Maybe the mk1 Golf German Police Car could make an appearance (15t) with its older cousin the Bay Window Campervan (15t), both have locked diffs on 2s lipo and are a bit bonkers to drive in a straight line but definitely worth a good belly laugh 😄🤣😝

I mean you can sponge a little rust color on them and you would have a perfect set of old rusty wheels but I am sure that is not the look you are going for! You can always soak them in some super clean degreaser and start over.

I'm going to leave them as they are and give them a clear coat of lacquer hopefully to keep the appearance of a crunchy paintjob to give me a stark reminder of not mixing my paint types in the future.
To be honest, the wheels really won't be that much visible when they are on the axles going in a forward motion 😉

Unfortunately, a lick if clear lacquer won't fix the problem but if you squint enough you probably won't notice how shiny and crunchy they look 👍
