Please don't ever stop explaining what you are doing as you take a watch apart and put it back together again. As a learning watchmaker/repairer, it is extremely important that that I see and hear, from a Master Watchmaker, the correct names of the parts and the correct order of operation for the disassembly and reassembly of a watch. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us, I can't thank you enough for this. Cheers, and God bless you!
I live in the US now, but I grew up in the village next to Hölstein, Switzerland, where the manufacturer that makes Oris watches is located and I used to drive by it quite often. It is a big building for that small of a village. So glad to have seen an Oris restored that beautifully! Males me want to become a watchmaker! Awesome channel, and wonderful watchmaker! Keep up the good work!
I find it amazing that anyone would want to have a commentary-free, music-accompanied version of your videos since it takes out all the fun and personality that others find rightfully endearing. It’s a beautiful thing when talent, intelligence, and kindness all come together. I hope your kids know how lucky they are to have such a dad...
I agree! This gentleman has a wonderful sense of humor and I love learning how these beautiful time pieces work. It just amazes me. This is a lost art.
Completely agree. So many channels just silently work. With the commentary I find myself learning obviously not gonna have the same level of expertise 😂, but you start to learn part names and location it’s really awesome
It is remarkable that disassembling, cleaning, lubricating, reassembling and presenting a finely crafted timepiece can be so enjoyable to watch. I feel so privileged to peer over your shoulder with a view closer than if I was with you in person and watch a master craftsman and artist utilize years of experience and study bring something long neglected to life. You are simply wonderful and I hope you continue producing and sharing your videos long after your son becomes a renowned watch smith. Writing "Thanks" is inadequate.
Thanks for including the washing and polishing. For me, who doesn’t know a pallet fork coil from a mainspring jewel lever, what I like is seeing the physical transformation. I love hearing about and seeing the gunk and abuse, seeing it removed/fixed, seeing which parts are broken, etc., and then seeing the transformation happen. Also the part with your kid laughing was great. Cheers.
You are a good Father my friend. I always love it when the watch makers apprentice makes an audible appearance on your show. Your interactions with him are really good to hear. A lot of people aren’t nearly as good with their children these days. I’m older and my children are all grown up. They aren’t nearly as patient and loving with their own children as I like to think I was with them when they were 3 to 5 even 6 years old. Keep up your fantastic channel my friend. Great watching as always

I've only been watch repairing for a very short while, just a little over 4 years now, and find your restoration videos very interesting. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share your projects with us, step by step - I am learning so much, and enjoying the light hearted humour along the way! I hope you and your family keep safe.
This is the first time I actually watch a complete vintage restoration, and enjoyed every minute. I like the the fact that you explain the process, and do not ramble on other subjects. Keep up the great work, and keep shining those diamonds.
I love your parts washer with small sections to keep everything separate. What a wonderful machine. Amazed how well the crystal came out. Notice that editing video is like assebling a movement. First assemble and prepare all the parts, lay them out in order then adjust the cuts and transitions required. Apply the VO to clarify key points and then check it' is all running to time. You are clearly getting a grip on the production process. Well done.
I can recall feeling deeply disappointed when the time began being displayed on so many devices, almost negating the need to wear my watch. I love your work Joe, it explains my appreciation of beautifully crafted watches. Thanks for sharing.

You did a fantastic job on that watch. It it belongs to someone, they better appreciate it. It is a beautiful watch. Thank you for the no music version.
Extraordinary restoration of that beautiful watch! I'm really enjoying watching your artistry and it's amazing how calm you stay...some of the things you're doing would get me so frustrated...but then you're a trained professional who knows anger leads to lost parts and lots of "floor time". But...we do need more videos!
Your videos intrigue me. But kills my anxiety just thinking of handling the tiny parts. I had to google why there were jewels inside where they aren’t seen. Lol. I know now. I love old pocket watches and I can see the excitement of making and old dead one come to life. 👍🏻
What an unbelievable transformation! I was actually surprised that the movement wasn't in worse shape, given the abuse heaped on the crystal and case. Thanks for an awesome video!
jmfa57 thanks mate. As long as no moisture gets in to it, the movements usually survive really well. And this would have been a dress watch so it wouldn’t have been around water much
