@@gerardwoods1529 It's the Slate river lad. It's a tributary of the river Figile. A bit weedy at the moment but some decent sections too. Thanks for your comment 👍

Thanks Andrew, sorry for such a short comment this morning I was running out the door for work. I appreciate your feedback on the camera angle this helps as I'm a novice and trying to get things dialled in. Thank you for your kind words, hopefully I can get a few more videos on soon 👍

Great tip with the indicator tippet, I’ve really struggled on smaller clearer waters in the past so will try a v small nymph and your indicator method in future, subbed

Thank you Simon I appreciate your comment and sub. I'm hoping to get out to the river today and I'm planning on doing a short video on how I manage my waste tippet material while on the river. It's easily made from cheap materials and a game changer if you're conscious of waste material harming small animals that come into contact with it on the water. Tight Line out there 👍

Head camera position is better. Reading the furred leader, I want to make my own, can you tell me what tread you use please. Very well done on the fishing side.Keep them coming.

Hi Martin thank you for your comment. When I used to make my own furled leaders I used 8/0 Uni Thread in olive colour. I buy mine now as they last too long for me to be messing around with a jig making my own and the guy that makes them for me is doing it a long time and makes better ones than I did. He's pretty decent with prices too. It is enjoyable to make them though and to catch on your own always feels better. If fishing heavier rods like say a 6wt you could use the heavier 6/0 Uni Thread for a furled leader more suited to the thicker line. Thanks again for your kind words.

Sir, I mean no disrespekt....but fishing for such small fish......in New Zealand you could end up been labeled a pedophile🤣
Wonderful video. A pleasure to watch. Brings back lovely memories of my youth fly fishing around Rotorua and the Bay Of Plenty region.

I fish for the enjoyment of being out doors on the river. I'd rather 10 small than one big. Plus our wild trout are native and truly wild none were introduced. Glad you enjoyed the video though. Stay tuned for more 👍

@@KW_FlyFishing I realized that the native trout were small. I just thought I´d throw a bit of New Zealand humor in there. And yes, rainbow and brown trout were introduced into New Zealand waters which , along with so many animal species which have been introduced into New Zealand, have displaced native species. In all my years fly fishing I have never caught a native trout. Never heard of anyone else catching one either. As you said fishing for the enjoyment of being out doors on the river....I know exactly what you mean. I could go all day and not catch anything and still go home happy. Honestly a wonderful video.
