John, the film was released in early 1968. There is a companion piece with Herbert Normington fishing upstream spiders at Kilnsey, so its possible that the filming was done through the 67 season. I lived on the same street as Reg before he moved to Barbon, he would sometimes play cricket with us kids in the street.
Dear Sir: I love these old angling productions, such as Michael Hordern in, "Rod and Line," and in particular anything featuring BV. Is there a source for more of them, or a way to purchase a collection? Thanks very much. Best, Evan Emmott
Funny how at the 5 minute mark the angler simply takes the cigarette out of his mouth and throws it into the river. I guess in the good old days polluting and preservation was not on the agenda.
From so long ago, ..home waters, ,...I fished the Nidd and thankfully still do but have many happy memories of Burnsall and Grassington
I’m intrigued to see this film as I fished with Reg on a few occasions. Is there a date for the film? I’m guessing mid 1960s.
