Hope you like the cutting noises! Next, I will do more castle terrain so let's see what I come up with. Here is the Simple Castle Terrain playlist if you have missed something: ua-cam.com/play/PLgyxyHUpqO6SxgawZfu1Ib1qbY0DxGwUX.html
Bard's Craft ... oh yes, enough cutting noises to make me very content - thank you! I'm always in awe of how sharp your blades are ... how about a sharpening tutorial?
@@modelsfromscratch Haha, sharp. I haven't sharpened my kitchen knife since the big fire elemental video. When I get a new diamond file I'll remember to make a sharpening & cutting tutorial (I lost mine while moving)
Much like you Layers of the grass plans you can stack the shards of glass together one size smaller than the next to add a thicker look or you can make a mold our of rubber and mix hot glue with some glow in the dark paint and have rock, stalagmite, or stalactites.
My fingers are turning blue just looking at these super crystals. The slashing of the XPS for the rocks is so effective 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Similar to what I do when I texture using plaster over foam. Yet another fantastic video👏👏👏
This is a perfect fix for my crafter’s block! I needed to create some scatter for a void dimension and this will work wonderfully with a purple or green paint job instead of snowy
just found this channel and i love it! never dwelled much into terrain making for my mini painting, but this gives me lots of inspiration, love the dwarf castle too!
I've had fantastic results from using the aluminum foil on my stone buildings and other hewn stonework. These horizontal slashes to produce layered results though, this is a definitely useful addition to my crafting repertoire! Thank you for this tip! It produces very nice natural looking 'wild rock' and I can definitely see myself using this for some cliff faces.
Another crafter uses a lighter against the foam to create very smooth curves that resemble ice very well. Try it you will be shocked. Just lick the flames against the foam, don't keep it there for any extended time. Not sure how it will work on that type of foam but he uses the thicker pink/blue stuff. The UA-camrs channel is called Runehammer.
Nice ice! My current adventure has some terrain inspired my your magma tutorials... I think my players would like some ice right about now cauz the floor is lava!
I like your videos and your ideas and techniques are very inspiring, but your butcher knife really amazes me. It's a great blade! Wish I had one or more knives of high quality like that.
Kind words :) The kitchen knife is a cheap one but I just reworked the edge. It cost about 8€. I'll do a sharpening and cutting tutorial, everything I do you can do as well!
Another method on how to pant plastic: use blue markers (kids markets works good) and add layer of white glue, the glue will mix the marker and create interesting texture
I have used the AK Dioramas Snow and Snow microballons for the first time last week and the result is awesome, although it requires some patience. The Diorama Muddy and Wet ground are a little more straight forward and easier to use, however (I use Muddy Ground for my Death Korps of Krieg miniatures and trench terrain, as well as my winter terrain)
@@michaelritzen8138 I like it. If you paint white under where the snow goes or over it comes out much nicer. I don't mind waiting. If you think that takes a while the water diorama effects take 24 hours to dry but you can build up after a few hours. I do like it because you can build it up unlike resin.
Hmm, there are many things I could do. And that others have done, such as smoke markers, campfires etc. Perhaps I could do some kind of monument with a light inside, so any carvings or such look glowy. Thanks for the idea!
When you cut the stone textures I thought that is way too much, and when you painted it, I was like "I want thaaat!" :D Great work! Btw are those scibor miniatures?
Great video but dammit I shouldn't have watched a bunch of disturbing exploitation movie scenes before this. I keep expecting something bad to happen while you are cutting at the foam.

Bard's Craft well they ‘sound’ sharp👍👍👍

I LOVE the cutting noises!! 😁
Officially my new favourite channel
Re-watching this and it says it was only one year ago?! This channel has come so far in just one year... Incredible!
These were seriously awesome, I love the use of scraps like old coke bottles or something, really awesome!
Scrap is good 👍 Next episode I will use scraps from animals. Bones .
Thank you for your videos, they are both calming and useful.
Love it my dude :)
Rybonator I like your vids

i totally want to use this technique for underdark crystals!
Great video, thank you for the ideas!
I've been working on ice bases for my Tau with cracked ice, and these would be awesome looking on my larger bases. These look great!
The music in your videos is fire.
Thanks, I put a lot of time on finding music and timing it 👍
I like the crystals, I will use this technic for my stalagmite
Thanks for this. You just gave me ideas on how to build my tiberium field
Gorgeous!~ Stay frosty!

Good that you got something useful from the video 🙂
Great result!
Very well done.
Love the scatter terrain videos
Good, I'll make more

That would be some hot/cold therapy, healthy for heroes
Smart and simple.
Going to do something like this for my Reign in Hell game board.
Love the idea. Also using different colours this method can be used for different locations, such as mines or crystal caverns.
Yeah, thats the beauty of this. Green or metallic ones would surely look good
Another Great Craft my Friend!!! Keep it going!
Really enjoying your videos !!!
For snow, I usually use sand flocking and paint it white. Hot glue streaks dry brushed pearly blue make nice ice floes, as well.
The hot glue streak idea sounds interesting :)

great idea!
Lookin good, great idea! ...Beard on and Craft! 🍺
Appreciate it :) Bard on and Craft!
Great idea with that clear plastic. Hienosti tehty! :-)

cool ideas for ice !
Great ❄️

I hope Jeremy from BMC sees this. Great video. Small channels 😂👌
AK makes some really cool snow diorama acrylic jell.

fantastic!
We demand you back!
Can you do something with those finger LED lights

I am here for the funny cutting noises :)
Enjoying your channel, have you tried baking soda and pva for snow?
Mixing acrylic paint and white glue in various proportions makes the paint dry harder.
Ok that was cool
have you ever used EVA foam instead of XPS? Sadly, it has minima cutting noises.
Subbed!
Very nice mate, that's some cool terrain! I wonder if the ice shards are strong enough to add to a mini as like an ice giant or something... hmmn 🤔
Thanks! Don't give too many spoilers for one of my upcoming miniatures ;)
@@BardsCraft I didn't know lol! Great minds think alike :P XD
UA-cam had un-subscribed me from your channel I found out now.
Do you know what thickness/grade you use for the foam?
I had never realized how sexy cutting noises are.
More cutting soon. I'll make ou some noise ;)
Pls can you make a volcano boss battle arena
Anouther interesting craft.
When you cut the stone textures I thought that is way too much, and when you painted it, I was like "I want thaaat!" :D Great work!
Btw are those scibor miniatures?
those horizontal cuts ended up looking a little like volcanic rock from cooled lava...
cooolll!!
"If you have already, good for you." lol
Id be worried about getting stabbed by the plastic
*10 hour asmr cutting noises*
Alien or Plane Terrain.
For the tabletop, this is a very bad idea with the spiky edges. That's the slice up the players and your own hands while using them.
3:00
Dont like the technique. Liked the video anyway.
Im not going to leave a cool comment
Great video but dammit I shouldn't have watched a bunch of disturbing exploitation movie scenes before this. I keep expecting something bad to happen while you are cutting at the foam.
I can’t stand that styofoam cutting noise. The first 5 minutes were torture with my noise cancelling headphones lol
Small Channel? Black magic craft has about 23 times the amount of viewers you, have that's not small.
Ok furry
S. Ram. Dry your tears. It'll be ok.
Love the content and keep up the great work!
