    Nice to see someone actually make something without using a proxxon and xps foam. It's harder to come by in the UK and for sheets thick enough to actually make stuff with it costs an arm and a leg.
    Awesome stuff I will definitely be utilising some of these techniques in my ongoing frostgrave board.

      Haha yes hopefully just using the livestreams to bridge the gap between videos. Great to hear people are keen for more! I have a lot of episodes planned and will be wrapping up filming on one this week. The channel is currently balanced between work, running games and being a dad of 2, but I'm passionate enough to work on it any chance i get. My goal is for every video to be quality i can be proud of and ulitimately be useful for GM's as passionate about this as I am. Hopefully as I upgrade equipment and learn more about creating videos the gap between releases will shrink. Thanks for being a loyal atmoseeker!

    I would mix the mod podge with blue paint instead of black and do a couple brush layers over it using lighter and lighter blues until getting to white. Would probably end up using less paint overall.

From that greenscreen intro with the matched color grading, those different camera angles which show off the diorama just perfectly, your way of describing the techniques step by step and just that overall production value. I'm not a D&D per se, but I will try and use your techniques to build a cave diorama for 1/144 Gundam scenery. Thanks for the effort and please keep it up. Good value!

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for asking! Yeah always great to see how these effects go over time. In that year it's been used in a few games with fog effects. It's still mostly intact with no yellowing.

  • @emiliaregan825
    @emiliaregan825 3 роки тому +1

    Absolutely fantastic work. Two questions though - Was the EVA foam something you'd recommend or just because you had it on hand? Or if you're using eva, can you still get this same effect and skip foamcore? Also - I love what you did with the styrofoam, but I'd be curious if you know of a more environmentally friendly alternative in this execution.

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  3 роки тому +3

      Hey thanks for watching! The thought with the EVA foam was that it's gonna create a bit of grip for the pieces, but you could get away with using an alternative. I probably wouldnt skip the foamcore because its easier to shape for the flagstone effect, EVA foam is a bit more elastic, and not as easy to shape this kind of detail.
      As for the styrofoam, doesn't get any more enviromental than saving it from landfill and using it in my crafts, but i'd love to hear any alternatives for bulking up the cave walls before sculptamold-ing. Maybe even bunched up newspaper could work.

    Another brilliant video! How do you get such intriguing camera angles? Your opening shots make the caverns look much bigger than they are. And what lighting effects did you use this time? Trying to learn all I can!

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much for watching! Composition and lighting helps, but the camera I use has a decent field of view and a broader focal range, so that might add to the sense of size. With the exception of a few shots, most of this video is shot on a Logitech Streamcam.

    • @Atmoseeker
      @Atmoseeker  3 роки тому +1

      As for the lighting, it's mostly a combination of a general soft light (white), a led color change flood or those dmx par lights, (sometimes to water ripple party light) and some smaller lights that are designed as mini led spotlights for christmas displays that i've put color gels on (these are my favorite lately) instagram.com/p/CH1OpWVnkvB/?
