CONGRATULATIONS ON 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS ALEX!! YOU DESERVE IT! I love your trucking content sometimes I play American Truck SImulator while watching your videos.
I really like how safe you are driving your truck. I'm going through cdl school to drive over the road as well. It's always good to go a little slower than rushing to go nowhere. I'm glad I found your videos. Please be safe out there, my friend 👍
i really like content like this, just driving on the road while chatting and all that, you should make more content like this while keeping your other content
10:10 There's that much traffic a lot of the time on I-294 bro. Interstate 94/80 is a very busy area and I-294 basically cuts right through that corridor. I used to drive 80 to Cleveland and Akron, Ohio back several years ago. I mostly drove LTL, not truckload. Never had to sleep in my tractor, always had pre-paid hotel stays. Night driving like 85% of the time but you avoid the traffic that way, bro. The company I drove for did 'slip-seating' which is where you never drive the same tractor hardly *ever*. It's great for learning different tractor makes/models and for learning how to operate different transmissions as well.
always follow the truck gps, it will be a far better option over google gps. Here we also use truck gps's for larger trucks where smaller truck will use google gps as they can go everywere they are under 3.5 Tons total weight. DEF is a "cleaner", it helps with clearning dissel smoke out.
I drove I-294 daily for years. That exit you used as an example of how we all drive the same is notorious for last min lane changers and folks trying to jump the line from the non-exit lane at the last second Annoyingly frustrating. I always went far left for that exit. Every time.
It really is funny to know that the reason they make multiple lanes is to combat traffic overflow. But the reality is, there is no amount of lanes you can add to keep traffic flowing normally without disrupting the structural landscape around the freeways and bypasses. So, might as well call it a day after 4 or 5 lanes. 😂
I always enjoy your videos, Alex. You come through Ohio a lot so now I know how to spot you if you're ever coming through the Dayton area, lol! Just look for the GP truck with nobody around it! 😁 I have great respect for what you do. I appreciate and enjoy these videos. Can't wait for the next one! Safe travels my friend 😎
I’m from the uk so to hear your load is w 17tonne or 37k lb Is crazy out artics or semis normally run 28tonne or 61k just in the load alone Very common for our trucks to weigh in at 44 tonne or 97k lb Even more crazy for me is we’re limited to 56 yet you guys can do 70+!!
You should have taken 39/74 which bypass all of Chicago and the B's. It's a lot faster. It won't direct you that way because it's like 12 miles longer. But you make way more time up with all the slow downs in Chicago and the speed limit is higher.
That’s the problem with cars they know big trucks can’t pick up speed quickly after you slow down that’s why they cut trucks off and make them slow down so they can get ahead of trucks.
Im the same kind of driver as you, bro. We will have long careers if we don’t get screwed, somehow. People are crazy out there, I want them as far away from me as possible.
Right now I live in the Twin Cities. Every time I go out in the Twin Cities I find myself asking what the F are you doing when it comes to other drivers.
I am a rookie truck driver and I drove through Chicago for the first time yesterday those highways were confusing at first I had to pay real close attention. I am from California but I see alot of GP Transco trucks on the east coast. I wonder if you were ever one of the trucks I seen so far
16:00 berating someone for not moving over for someone on the shoulder after you didnt move over for multiple different people on the shoulder is delicious
Grew up in Humbolt park and Maywood, 294 S to 94 Kennedy is too long, his best bet was to take 294s to 290 East past Maywood down to 90/94 Kennedy towards Maryville Indiana.
It doesn't matter what I'm driving, I *always* expect other drivers to do stupid things. In fact, I'm surprised when they don't. This way nothing really bothers me because I know it's going to happen anyway.
Just FYI people who wach this video, he shouldn’t have his GPS in middle of his windshield because it’s violation, any driver that has it like that is steering wheel holder in my opinion 😃🫣
Im from IL, we have some of the most reckless drivers. My time on the interstates tells me drivers with a cabbunk are the best truck drivers (cuz their not local 🙂). Other local truck drivers are garbage.
You inspired me to start trucking! I'm 2 months in with Western Express, yes I know it sucks but it's for experience. It's my dream to work with GP Transco because of you. I promise you I will join when I make my 1 year experience 🙏🙏
There are much better carriers out there than GP. I worked there for 3 years, Sergey their marketing director is just really good at his job, which is making a failing company seem good. They already had to sell out once, and the management I still talk to says they are looking to sell out AGAIN. Find a 2nd company that has contract freight. GP does not. They claim they do, but whet they have is broker preference, not a real contract.
You are an awesome OTR driver! You have so much care for all of those around you! You have always been open and honest with the UA-cam community, so thank you!
Im a new and upcoming Truck driving UA-camr that’s sharing my vlogs and experiences of what it’s like to do long haul for a moving company in an 18 wheeler!
Minneapolis is becoming Chicago. I sat in 45 minutes of standstill traffic yesterday just to miss my exit onto 35W because of all the damn construction so I went east on 494 to Lyndale ave just to find out they closed the exit to get back onto 35W and ended up lost in the neighborhoods of Bloomington
I’m a local/regional driver in Minnesota. 9/10 I work 7am to 2 or 3pm. 1/10 I’ll stay in a hotel out of state. I’m leasing to own my truck, already paid off the trailer. The hours are good, company itself (as in employees) sucks. Generally bring home 8-10k a month.
"i got another special FUEL tank, we calll it DEF" bruh, i lost it, def is not fuel. Diesel Exhaust Fluid, id give the basics but there aint no point. 🙄 i swear he does it on purpose, has to.
Good day, I am a South African citizen who recently obtained my truck driving license. Although I am new to the trucking industry, I am eager to learn and contribute my skills. I am writing to inquire about the possibility of employment as a driver with your company. If there are any opportunities available, I would be grateful for the chance to discuss them further. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, Ash
Alex of course people are cutting you off, you’re driving under the speed limit. Driving significantly under the speed limit can be very dangerous and cause a lot of accidents and impede the rest of the road way.
Hi Alex… i Love your videos ❤ and it definitely helps that you’re such a cutie 😅 … I know you dislike NYC lol I’m sorry . But hello from Brooklyn, NY. 😂
There's this Norwegian girl, who drives a Volvo, much larger, with bigger loads and tighter roads, but she ain't crying this much. I come across his video after 6 months and he is still complaining. And being a trucker, how do you not know the weight of your truck.🤦
Alex fittin to be the first trucker vlog with a MILLION subs! Super crazy, definitely getting paid more from UA-cam than driving the truck. CONGRATS!!!
