ahh when GW cared about the players and not the money. when you could smoke in the nottingham shop. when the art team would be downstairs painting and swearing at kids. Carl and John and Jess... I used to make them tea (as i was a one of those kids being sworn at)
Much greatness! I still have a short-ton of the 1st gen Fantasy Battle figures. People do not realize how much SMALLER all the figures were "back then"! My old figures are notably smaller and those from "Citadel" prior to "GW" are smaller still. I have had gamers try to tell me recently that my old GW stuff was actually 20mm scale... Young'uns today!
I do 😊 I remember a story in a White dwarf, around 25 years ago, about old dwarfes telling beardlings that the orc’s was so much bigger, and greener in the old days. Fun fact they was not, they was more like the size of a human, and they was “Orc Brown” just like the paint 😊
These videos are so much fun. I love the classic models. and I will have to agree with the Bulldog beast man stans. It's a terrific sculpt with a great paint job.
Now that Sword weirdos is finally out, it would be great to see a bat rep with these beastmen/mutants verses the witch hunters in a mordheim style match up.
Yeah. It's disappointing that our batrep viewership numbers are so low. If we got half the views that the hobby outrage channels get, we could produce a lot of really cool vids.
You're quickly becoming my favorite wargaming channel. All the variation is so nice, and it's always awesome to see these old minis and even better that you still get them on the table!
Even though I think we're pretty similar in age, I was late in life to GW (2002). However, I still think their older stuffis so much more fun. Their models are so busy! Caveat: the Inquisitor line was amazing. Wish I'd kept them, if for display.
The two beastmen you mention near the end say look like sheep - you might be right! The model featured in the Death on the Reik from the Enemy Within Campaign and it had green two headed sheep in adventure!
Normal People (probably): "If I had a time machine I'd go back in time to stop " Me: "I'd go back to the 80s/90s and buy all the old citadel minis." Clearly, it is I who is the galaxy brain.
I love the early beastmen, great variety of models and sculpt. Now they are so boring... Only goat, bull and skaven. Wtf.... Call them goatmen at this point. They have even discontinued the werewolves (skinwolves) from forge world.
Agree, they've been actively undermined for over a decade. Used to be one of the coolest WF factions to me like 20 years ago. Couldnt care less about the goat peoples four armed goat giant, give me hog and hyena faces.
Good video. Kudos for skipping over the wildly infamous and insanely NSFW Broo Background that made its way into early Broo sculpts from Citadel. Folks can research at their own discretion -- but again it is highly NSFW.
Aww friendly beastman taking care of unwanted children
😂 depends on you definition of " take care of"
I love that old GW is your your focus.
I have so many Beastmen models, but only one in metal!? I must remedy that!
Beastmen are DTF, that is what i gleaned from this.

Kev Adams truly is the greatest gift gamers ever got
Beastmen are the coolest chaos faction IMO: on their latest iterations they definitaly give Chaos a very unsettling and terrifying vibe.

When chaos was chaotic, and creatures had some truly random looking combinations of body parts
7:02 I've got Axe 1, such a cool figure, love the khornate dogmen line.
Back to the good old days, where chaos actually was chaotic, and not uniform 🙂

I like weight of old minis. Felt like it was worth something
Their old stuff was just iconic, the new sculpts just lack soul in comparison

Fantastic!!!! These look so fun!
Always great to see a new video from you, great work!
Thanks for making these videos, they are really well done.
I love these guys.
The Beastmen in Battlemasters are the best.
Is it me or anybody not notice these early beasts were in lead.
They was 60% lead and 40% tin
They’re beautiful ! I only have the lizard man (11) from that old range you showcased.
That was a great Lookout of beastmen, MAN if you know what i meant to say..
Very nice and interesting video! May I ask where to find those beautiful fantasy landscapes? Thank you!
Yay for Old Lead!

@@hyldur Absolutely right. It's chaos after all, wich mean change and variety, not uniformity.
Good video. Kudos for skipping over the wildly infamous and insanely NSFW Broo Background that made its way into early Broo sculpts from Citadel. Folks can research at their own discretion -- but again it is highly NSFW.
I was not aware of that! Yikes.
I can't find much about this lol
one of my first packs was the turtleman and slime arm, owl beastman, and one of the pig beastmen with the shield on back.
