I'm doing the same thing currently in my 1978 D150. It almost caught on fire on me, but lucky for me...I was around the corner from home. I just yanked all the weird off of the engine and doing the wiring from under the hood to the fuel pump! I'll go into the dashboard eventually because the wires are brittle under the hood, so I'm sure they have to be brittle in other places!

That was why I redid all my wiring. I haven't done under the dash, except for the actual gauge cluster, but most of the wires under the dash aren't that brittle

Oh damn do I wish I had someone like you as a neighbor to work on cars with. I want this stuff done to my Ford sedan '92 sierra, the look of the wiring just pisses me off. It works, but its not pretty at all

Are you just twisting wires together then shrink wrap ? Dont see you using connectors , going to fast .

All connections used crimped and sealed connectors. The only places where I really needed a splice is in places places like the headlight connectors, where I used the existing connector and joined it to the new wire. I tried to eliminate most of the splices by using the terminal blocks
