I went to West marine and bought a fused distribution block, and a bracket with two relays, both key on powered to run accessories, works perfect, probably could have saved a buck ordering it, but when motivation hits, some times you gotta spend a few extra dollars.
Would love to see some pics of the install
I like the idea and it would make adding stuff a lot easier but I would definitely have to go with a different location. Nice project though 👍🏻
Don't forget to drill a whole in the center of the lid for each distro block, so it won't hold water and dirt.
As someone who has dealt with 12v wiring for a decade as my career, this is honestly not bad at all. Definitely better than any Jeep owner I’ve seen.
You addressed two key things which is it’s not ideal for wet conditions, and that it’s just one of 1000’s of products available to conquer this task. Keep up the good work and I’m sure it will look the way you want soon!
Thank you! Now that’s how you post a top quality comment even if you would have done it differently! 👌
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I always say there is more than one way to skin a cat.
@shelbyhoneysuckle1080 and there's always a right way and a better way😂
Very nice! I have some of my power wires on a second stud wired to the solenoid. I don't really like it though. A couple years ago, I bought all these distribution blocks, bus bars, relay blocks and a maxi fuse block to eliminate my solenoid (I have the mini starter anyway) and fusible links. Wish me luck! haha
You got this! 👌
Make sure your holley is directly to the battery
Brilliant idea, I’m looking for ideas on how to clean up the engine bay in my 12v cummins and this will come in handy! Thank you so much for posting this
Looks good! Just make sure holley is direct to the battery.
I was about to say the same thing I've seen several Holley system die because not hook directly to the battery
Try this throw all that away and put on a carburetor 🤘
Kidding kidding 😂 we own both a efi turbo car and carb car it’s just carb looks so much cleaner
This will be great for a wire tuck, which I’m going to be doing soon. Thanks!
Definitely a great addition
Good idea BREW2L, the distribution blocks are really cool, it is much better than 50 wires going to the battery
that seems to happen, your location is in a good place, as long as not rain driving or jumping railroad
tracks. haha..
Lmao I’ll try not to jump railroad tracks 🛤 👀😂
I’m the same I can try and try but my electrical always looks non professional. From rc cars to cars stereos. I don’t know how the pros do it. Great video.
I did the same thing in same spot woth same power block. I forced the fender liners in and works great!
Sweet!! Great to know 👌
@@BREW2LFOXBODY there is a slight bulge in the liner from the block and wiring harness. Mines tucked through there but liner still fits amd keeps the water out..
Hey I have that exact distribution block except I kept it in the engine bay and my battery is in the trunk. Nice!
Brew2l I uses the same kit, safe yourself a headache and isolate the power distribution block from the frame that you mounted it to with a piece of rubber or even duct tape.
I love wiring clean ups! Honestly though, any added power wiring should be fused, they sell distribution blocks/centers with built in fuses. Otherwise just use an inline fuse holder (and label it).
I agree.
Wire tuck look great for sure. Hopefully I can get to the point of cleaning mine up one day.
Whats up Brew2l, worked on mine this weekend. Previous owner had a big stereo. It had to go. Great video
I can’t stand wires running everywhere.. I’m just not good at hiding them. Lol
@@BREW2LFOXBODY keep these videos coming you saved me alot of time brother. Bought a 91 gt back in October, restoring it for my son. Waiting on a couple more parts then I can start the build (347) pretty excited even more when my boy gets in on it.
If you really want to have the connection block in the wheel well you could put your connections within a sealed plastic box.
Been waiting for a Brew2l fix,lol! That's a great idea and product.👈💯
Thanks brother!! It definitely worked for me 👌😎
For safety id throw a inline fuse between block and battery just in case
i watch many foxbody vids and your the only one left , the rest well just dont cut it.great work your doing keep it up.
I hope you put some battery corrosion spary on that because buses have the same setup and if someone forgets to spray it nothing but corroded wires you should have gotten a sealed one if you are going to put it there
Looks so good but wish you would've ran that negative around the back of the battery instead of next to the positive. Yikes! Looks great. I'm gonna do the same thing. Thanks for the advice.
Good, helpful vid. Gave me some ideas. What was your reason for removing the inner liners? I'm thinking I might do that. My car doesn't hardly ever see harsh driving conditions.
This car has never had them since I owned it now I like having the room under there Lol
I've always wanted to put a SN95 fuse box in a Fox. If I ever get a hold of a fox body again I will, I hate the factory rat's nest wiring.
Hey I've been a long time fan and watch her I think a great idea for your channel would be to have a drawing.. Where someone could win the opportunity to bring their Fox body Box body to you to have you do basic maintenance on.. It'd be great for your channel I know I'd watch it and let you take my Fox body
Such a simple thing and I totally forgot about a setup like that thank you for this video I know what I'm doing this weekend quick question for you how did you run power to your coil with the Terminator X
Tight work ninja!!!! Been brainstorming myself about how to clean stuff up. Great video today! 🍺👍
How are you liking the rear coil overs vs the stock lowers?
I like them but they pop around now that I have a spool in the rear.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY I’m still running he south side machine lowers bars. I’ve been thinking about doing the swap
So thsbkfuk for finding your chsnnel man. Been lesrning all about my carburated 83 fox. Stsring wrenching on it on my own shoukd be a great peoject now that my little one is here 🤙🏼
Good way to cean up the wiring. We'll done. Thanks for sharing 👌🏾😎
Beautiful mustang…. Thanks for the vid!
I have fusible distribution blocks on my 85...dont know why...I don't know if my car came with them from the factory...there on my firewall...unless my car had an 8 billion watt stereo system installed once along a time.
no telling honestly 🤣
Would the supply wire into the block get hot from powering all the others?
I have a question I’m doing a carb swap 5.0 I wanna use the factory cluster and ac. Can I go through the motor harness and cut out everything I don’t need? Oh and I using a 6al box and hei Distributor
Could you mount this in the car where the stock computer use to be??
Man please get some real cable ends for the battery . Napa part numbers 728510 & 728511 have solder in them and easy to use with a little hand held torch
What's up Brew2l!... Love the content..
It’s all good brother! Thanks 🙏
This is awesome and very useful
Nice now all those connections won't get eaten by battery acid corrosion.
I need to do this. Thanks for the idea
So this does not delete the starter solenoid ?
What about if you hit a bump is the tire gonna bottom out
No it’s honestly not that close. It just looks that way on camera
Alright Fox Fam, get them Thumbs up,y'all slacking....
Thanks for a good tip.
Hey man. Any tips or tricks to get rid of the throttle body whistle?
Love this kind of content.
Take the car to FoxCast Media shop , they’ll get you going in no time ..
Got a link for it
Look I agree with this but there is an issue I watched a vid of a computer/wire guru and he said that Ford's are pretty much finnicky about lengthening and shortening wires.... Like for instance it was as simple as the O2 sensor wire being too long.... U get a lot of B's on sometimes but he said something that simple made that ECM/PCM fail and showed me data.... Find it far fetched but I do believe that it's possible.... So does this hold weight or B's
Wouldn’t doubt it on the more important wires
Yeah on wires attached to sensors that work off of resistance you could affect the load by lengthening wires.
I've never understood people that like to soup up these Ford Escorts
Great idea 👌🏾
Thanks bud! Should be hearing something back on our shirts this week btw 👀👌
@@BREW2LFOXBODY sweet 👍🏾
I need to pin this video I have one of those blocks I haven't gotten to yet. Good for reference
Would you say I have a plethora Jeffe?
Great tip brother! 👊🏻
Rip that nest out put a mafreakn carb on that jewel!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m tempted…. Lol
@@BREW2LFOXBODY right!!!!😂😂😂
I like the idea of the live wire running under there without a fuse next to the battery. Fuses are so over rated.
Hey Brew2l. I noticed you have ridden without spring isolators. I have the top one on the front but none on the bottom. I have both in the rear. I just can't get these springs in with both isolators no matter how hard I try. I'm even using the maximum motorsports spring installation tool and I still can't get it close enough with the lower isolator on. Will it ride really harsh because of that?
You can pretty easily tuck the giant alternator fuse wiring in thru the fender/ front bumper, the solenoid into the fender (a bit harder with stock harness at least) the hood latch line, I have the wires to the coil coming out one of the holes in the strut tower going straight to the coil. I did that all by only lengthening 1 wire for the wiper fluid reservoir. Would be a good video to see that man
Let's say i get the sve 130 alternator upgrade kit, instead of running the new cable for that to the solenoid like instructed, could I run it to a block just like that?
You could, but honestly I would run that one back to the solenoid
That is a good idea to have a constant power source without having 59 wires attached to the battery terminal..........just pray that you don't have a blow out right there🤣 because it may look like a lawnmower got ahold of your wires 😂 but you could put a liner back in to protect it and if you need access you can just take it off and it will be protected from the rain and shredded tire flopping around hitting your wires and cutting them or getting tangled up in them, i know that it is a 1 out of a million chance that would happen but if your luck is like mine it would happen 😂🤣😂👍🏾🚗💨💨💨💨💨💨
Hell yeah
you ever wondered why your vise has jaws on the inside? well turn that pointy foot inwards, and use the pipe jaws for your lug. then crimp her home. youre welcome! lol
The only thing I don't like is hot connections unprotected. I'd at least want something covering that. This ( and cheapness) is why Ford puts all this crap in the bay.
Thats insane!!! You don't see the danger in the placement of the set up??? Bro you gonna have a big upset if u run something over that whips around and catches them wires like anything. Plus u can't drive it through puddles now and the grime they will now collect under there is dumb idea!! You sure picked the #1 worst placement for it. And what about if someone hits you in the side there just say its going to cause a fire and burn your car down! Hope you cary fire extinguisher!!! You gonna need it. If that were to happen you prob get sued for what you did. This type stuff here is what gots the gov trying to ban working on cars yeah the epa people are taking it all away soo. But yeah I would thing of impact and how to route your wires thsts crazy!!
I can see your concerns with that honestly. But this car never goes more than a few miles away from the house. And an in-line fuse coming from the main power wire should pop first if anything goes wrong. Which I will be adding
