"Is This Love" is a song by American rock band Survivor. The song was released on October 1, 1986[3] as the first single from Survivor's sixth album, When Seconds Count.
Possibly my favourite Survivor song! Great reaction Empress. Jimi's vocals are so good and that guitar solo is sweet! They don't make em like this anymore. Rockin 80s can't be beat.

- ...This tune was the lead song off of Survivor's 1986 LP, "When Seconds Count", so, Miss Empress was RIGHT about that 'time'! ...ha-HAA! (2:33)
- BUT! the original lead Singer of "Eye Of The Tiger" left, and was replaced by THIS Singer, the incredible Jimi Jameson, who was brought in on their 1984 LP, "Vital Signs", which had the MASSIVE hits, "I Can't Hold Back", "The Search Is Over", & "High On You", sung by Jimi.... Jimi DID do a "Rocky" tune also, the #2 Pop hit "Burning Heart", in 1986...
- As always, tensions started to rise within the Band, and problems arose with their label, Scotti Bros.; the label folded WHILE the album came out, and they were almost about to bomb, with "Is This Love", because their old label wouldn't promote it....
- luckily the label was bought out by Sony / CBS, and the tune went Top Ten Pop (#9), January of 1987....the band broke up, & got back together, on and off, for MANY years, until Jimi died from a heart attack in 2014....here's the Top Ten....

Actually the lead singer replaced the previous one when he left the band. The previous one did "Eye of the Tiger.". This singer was Jimi Jamison. Sadly, he passed away in 2014.
The lead singer the band had at the time, Jimi Jamison, would also do hits for the band such as "Burning Heart" from the Rocky IV soundtrack, and "The Search is Over". One interesting solo recording he did was "I'm Always Here", aka the theme song from Baywatch.

I like this song and White Snake's own song of the same title. Survivor has so much power and energy behind their music.
In every 80s movie, this is the type of song that plays when the hero rides in his motorcycle or drives at night reminiscing about his friend that just got killed in the boxing, kickboxing karate tournament lol. Bloodsport, Rocky, top gun, kickboxer etc you know it’s time for revenge.

Had the pleasure of seeing Survivor live in my former home of Great Falls, MT. They played in a dance club of all places! 😱

You know it's a great song when you're singing along before the end of the first time hearing it 😁 Old news by now but not the same lead singer that was on "Eye of the Tiger". They had to make a change after the "Eye of the Tiger" album. But boy, Jimi (Jamison) stepped in and CRUSHED it. Arguably the better singer (my opinion). You heard it ... his voice just lifts everything up. RIP Jimi. Your patron has good taste ;)

This is second lead singer, Dave sang Eye of the Tiger, this is Jimi, check out High on You, How Much Love, Didn't Know It Was Love, and Across the Miles Jimi sings. Then check out Dave singing before EOTTiger, Poor Man's Son, their first hit.

The vocalist on this song is Jimi Jamison. He replaced "Eye of the Tiger" singer Dave Bickler who had to leave the group due to vocal issues.
His name was Jimi Jamison, not Johnson.
