Thanks for the kind words, I’ve created is a full 3 step system that producers and songwriters around the world are using if you want to check it out here 🎹👍www.fasttrackkeys.com/threesecrets
Great vid! However, my 1928 piano does not sound good at all with raw settings (did you use any reverb?). Worth mentioning that I'm NOT using a MIDI or pedals. I am just trying to do it on piano roll of FL Studio. How can I get that beautiful piano sound like you do at 1:40? Thanks. And your piano skills are beautiful. My day will be made if I get a reply :)
Thanks, I think the issue you are having with it not sounding the same is that even if you have the greatest piano VST in the world, it’s never going to sound like a real piano in the piano roll using a computer mouse to pencil it in, my advice would be to play it in with a midi keyboard and sustain pedal 👍 that way it’s being played like a real piano, which is why is sounds very realistic in the video. Hope that helps..thanks for the kind words, cheers
Even though I already have a Roland RD-2000 Stage Piano, I'm going to get the Steinway reviewed here. I do have occasions in projects where the RD-2000 is doing duty for other things, and it'd be good to have a convincing VST piano. And you can't go wrong at the price!
Hi Craig, ah yes I love Roland keyboards, I've played the RD range and I also used to have a Roland Fantom X8 before I got my NI Komplete Kontrol S88. To be honest if you combine a really great VST like the Soundpaint 1928 Steinway with your Roland it will be a much higher quality as it's recorded in 127 velocity layers, which is considerably more than stage pianos. If you use your Roland as a MIDI keyboard you'd get the best of both :)
@@fasttrackkeys I DO use the RD-2000 as my MIDI master keyboard. I downloaded the Soundpaint 1928 Steinway last night. It turned out this is a company I have had my eye on anyway, and there are some products such as their Cor Anglais that I am going to buy when I get a bit of spare cash, to fill one or two of the gaps in BBCSO Core, which I own. On the RD-2000, the main piano sounds are modelled, rather than sampled, so I don't know that velocity layers is a factor. It also has the advantage that - since its sounds are built in, it makes for a much easier set-up at live gigs. I had a bit of a job getting the 1928 Steinway to work after I downloaded it last night. For some unknown reason, all the MIDI inputs on my DAW had become unchecked, so I couldn't get it to play a note, until I figured it out. After that, I had a lot of fun practicing Beethoven using the Soundpaint 1928 piano. Despite having the RD-2000, I can see the situation where I will need a VST like this. One example of this is in my composition "Ten Sixteen" ua-cam.com/video/7OXcoIOFrlQ/v-deo.html . The RD-2000 was doing duty as lead synth (and one or two other sounds), so for the big piano chords, it was simpler if I got something else to play them. In this case, the "something else" was a U-110 MIDI sound module. I know in the video, it appears that I am playing them on the RD-2000, but those piano chords are actually a U-110. That U-110 died last year, and if a similar situation arose now, I would use a VST like this 1928 Steinway. I would like to thank you personally for pointing me in the direction of this VST. I had seen it before on Soundpaint's site, but seeing it there and actually hearing it used and demonstrated is quite another thing. By the way, I DID get value out of your video, and therefore had no hesitation in giving it a like. You also got yourself a new subscriber.
Hi Craig thanks so much for your kind words, and glad you got the 1928 Steinway working, it really is a great one. Yes soundpaint are one of my favourite sample instrument companies, as well as 8dio, Spitfire, EWQL and also Output. I’ll be doing more vst plug in reviews soon as well as Kontakt libraries. If you’d like to have a complete guide on all of the sounds I’m currently using for my productions definitely check out my free music maker toolkit which has my top picks for VSTs in instrument categories, piano, synths, bass, strings etc. Think you would really find it valuable so you can grab it for free here- www.fasttrackkeys.com/toolkit Cheers Michael
@@fasttrackkeys Thanks, Michael. I've just had a quick flick through. I must say, it looks very professional, and obviously a lot of work went into it. Though there's a lot there that I already have, or have the equivalent of. (Ie, I have BBCSO Core, which is Spitfire's equivalent of Audio Imperia Nucleus. I'm surprised that wasn't on the list under Paid Orchestras.) I also have several hardware synths. I'm not sure that I agree with you on Subscriptions, though. $20 a month doesn't sound like a lot, right? Two caveats: 1) When people on the Internet say $20, usually what they really mean is US$20. For those whose currency is NOT US$, there's an additional cost: Currency conversion (this also applies to one-off purchases). In my case, that US$20 translates to about $36 per month. Ouch! And that's whether I use it or not. Which brings me to point 2): How much would a year or two's subscription's worth buy you? I bought BBCSO Core (on sale) for what it would cost me for 13 months subscription at US$20, which is mine to use until Kingdom Come, and I don't have to be on the 'net to use it (my Music PC is offline). And I don't have the constant Pay Pay Pay for something I will never own. Sorry, but I give subscriptions the order of the boot. And yes, I am already using the 1928 Steinway in a project. I'm doing an underwater scene, and the Soundpaint Steinway with a bit of reverb was more the sort of sound I wanted than my RD-2000's. I look forward to your upcoming reviews! Cheers Craig
@@CraigRodmellMusic hi Craig, that’s great glad you like the guide, Ah I thought I added nucleus in there, I’ve not actually tested that one myself yet but I’ve heard great things about it. I’ll be giving it an update every year so I’ll be sure to test that one out. As for subscriptions I actually totally agree with you, I always buy my sounds up front then I have them for life. But I do think for beginners or producers who want to test out sounds to see if they want to buy individual libraries it’s great. For example splice do a rent to buy option which is great, and also composer cloud gives you the chance to test out expensive libraries that might not be the sound everyone is looking for. I used it for a month to test out the Forbidden Planet synth before eventually buying it. Glad you are loving the Steinway, look forward to putting up more free and paid vst quick reviews for people to hear the sounds of these great instruments, cheers
No worries my friend glad you found the video helpful. Let me know if you’d like any more VST videos or if you are on the search for free vst plug ins I have a complete music maker toolkit here with my top suggestions www.fasttrackkeys.com/toolkit
Hi Chris, I haven’t played the keyscape ones yet but it’s definitely better than the analog lab ones in my opinion. It’s the way it reacts to your playing that’s the big difference as it’s recorded in 127 different velocity layers. So it’s the closest thing I’ve played to a real Steinway if you combine it with a great 88 key weighted MIDI keyboard 👍🎹
On each layer on the top right hand side of the soundpaint plug in, there’s a little symbol that looks a bit like a fan, right underneath the number of each layer. If you click that and then a menu pops up, there’s a switch called ‘foot pedal’ which you can toggle on/off on each layer. So you can switch it off there 👍🎹hope that helps, cheers
Hey man yes you can change the download folder no problem 👍 you can have multiple directory folders in the soundpaint menu and then save the libraries wherever you like on your computer
I downloaded the plugin but my mac says that there is not any program I can open these plugins. What program should I download to open these, and how can I set it in the logic pro x as a midi? Thanks!
Hey, you need to download the soundpaint engine from www.soundpaint.com and then download the 1928 Steinway piano separately… Then you can open the piano inside soundpaint which you can open as a separate app on your Mac, or you can open it as a plug-in in Logic Pro x as a software instrument… Hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions on it 👍
I see, but how can I open it as a plugin in logic pro x? I found the keyboard in soundpaint and it works, but i don’t know how to take it to the logic. Thanks so much!❤
Oh cool awesome glad you have got it working, when you install the soundpaint engine it will also automatically install itself as an AU plug in which you can then open in Logic. So when you open Logic Pro just make a new software instrument and from the drop down menu on the left hand side where you select your software instruments, just go all the way to the bottom where it says AU instruments, and from there you should see soundpaint which you can now open as a software instrument in Logic 👍
Ah it sounds like it might be an issue with the installer, it could be what system you are on, are you on Mac or pc? Best to contact soundpaint suppprt on their site from the homepage 👍
It’s another production music track by BMG, one is called the adventure, I can’t remember the name of the other one… nice vibe isn’t it, if you search the adventure on BMG here www.bmgproductionmusic.co.uk you should hopefully find it 👍 might be on Spotify but not sure, cheers
Hello ! Thank you for sharing theses amazing vst ! :) I have a question, how do you manage to make the piano from soundpaint sounding like this ? I am taking the same "Main 2 Mic TF" from the category 1928 Vintage Grand Steinway but it doesn't sound like yours. Can you share like, a preset or something like that maybe ?
Hello there, thanks glad you enjoyed the video. Do you mean the presets that I showed in the video that have more effects on them like reverbs/delays? Etc. I’m mainly using the main2 mic TF throughout for the normal piano sound
I'm on Mac, and when I install the 1928 Vintage Grand Piano from "Sound Paint" it says "Error occurred, please restart downloading". The issue is that when I download it again it says the same thing
Hi there, you can just go to programs and then if you have installed correctly you should see under piano in the left hand menu, you just double click the program you want to load, for example ‘’main 2 mic” hope that helps
Hi there yes it can be used in any recording software such as Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton, Fl Studio and more. If you go to soundpaint.com it will tell you all of the compatible DAWs 👍
how do I use sound paint in fl studio or any other DAW, as it itself can be played separately, but the soundpaint app only supports plug and play and no recording option. So for recording I want to know how do I use or install it in a DAW ?
Hey Sonis when you install soundpaint it should open in your DAW (FL Studio) from where you load your virtual instruments and plug-ins. It should say soundpaint in the menu and then you can load it up in your DAW from there. Just like the way you would load the stock FL studio sounds when creating a new track
Realistic sounding piano VST deserves the attention, and yes the melody you're playing reminds me of a song from Justin Bieber, would be really glad if you could tell 😊
Yes the soundpaint 1928 Steinway is such a great VST! oh really I’m not sure I don’t listen to Justin Bieber, but it’s probably a popular chord progression used in many hit songs 😄🎹
Ah okay, you just need to go to the menu in soundpaint (top left) and then I think it’s directories, and then select the folder on your computer where you have installed the 1928 Steinway library 👍
Thank you for recommending these amazing free VST!!! I am using logic pro to make demo, but I think the piano and string's sound are weird and not realistic. Should I need to buy Kontakt for different realistic sound sources? And where can I find other free VST?
Hi Jason, thanks glad you enjoyed the video, you don’t necessarily need to buy Kontakt as you can get Kontakt 7 player for free, but there are plenty more both free and paid VSTs in my free music maker tool kit in the virtual instruments section, you can download it for free here www.fasttrackkeys.com/toolkit 🤛🎹

Hi Amir, you just download the soundpaint engine from their site, plus the free piano vst… and then you can open it as a software instrument inside Ableton just like you would load any other sound 👍
Hello there, you just need to download the piano library from soundpaint.com, there’s two things you need to download, 1. The soundpaint engine (app) 2. The 1928 Steinway piano from their site. Then you can open the soundpaint app on your computer and you can go into the menu to point it to where you have saved the piano samples 👍
Ah okay yeah might be worth checking your usb cable. Also if you have the full version of Kontakt you can actually get the 8dio version of the 1928 Steinway for free as well, which in my opinion is much nicer and more realistic to play, but you would just need the full version of Kontakt it doesn’t work in the free Kontakt player 👍
Hi yes you can download the soundpaint 1928 Steinway piano as mentioned in this video 👍 it opens on the soundpaint player that doesn’t need a DAW, you can open it as it own programme 🎹
can you make a tutorial on how to download these plug-ins because I tried to download both of them and they did not show up in logic. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
Hi there, you just need to download the installer from their website, install the piano using the soundpaint installer and then it should show up under the sounds under piano
@@fasttrackkeys yes i download but its downloading only software in software also i look for piano sound but its didn't show i dont know ,what happen can you make video on this please sir please i need your help very much sir please make video on its please

Hi there, you need to download the soundpaint engine, and then download the piano separately to open it in there. Try soundpaint support though if you have any questions www.soundpaint.com

Too many pianos Including spitfire piano sound like a wooly sock which are awful in a mix. So out of the two I would pick sound paint here. Best ones i've played are not free. You get what you pay for...some of the time.
Woolly sock! Haha that’s amazing 😂 I know what you mean, the best piano vst I’ve played is actually the 8dio emotional 1928 Steinway for Kontakt, you use to have to pay for it but they now recently offer it for free so worth checking out. I use it in all my projects 👍
@fasttrackkeys It all depends what sound you are going for. I have the 8dio steinway it is good. My current search is trying to find a bechstein that sounds like the 100 year-old Bechstein that Elton John played at Trident studios on his early albums. The piano was made famous by the Beatles, Bowie etc, but it has a certain tone on the Elton albums I love. Would be great if vst manufacturers came out with classic pianos like this. Could call it 70's Album pianos. I think there is a niche market for such a thing. I would buy it. 👍
Wow yes that definitely is a niche piano, I know East West Pianos have a Bechstein but I wasn’t that impressed with it to be honest, and it is a really old library now.

@@fasttrackkeys Alright, I'll try that. Thanks for the reply :)
Think you would really find it valuable so you can grab it for free here- www.fasttrackkeys.com/toolkit

Cheers
Craig
Glad you are loving the Steinway, look forward to putting up more free and paid vst quick reviews for people to hear the sounds of these great instruments, cheers

double are perfect.
🎹👍
That first piano sounds so good, definitely gonna have to download it. How would you compare it to Analog Lab/Keyscape pianos?
Hi Chris, I haven’t played the keyscape ones yet but it’s definitely better than the analog lab ones in my opinion. It’s the way it reacts to your playing that’s the big difference as it’s recorded in 127 different velocity layers. So it’s the closest thing I’ve played to a real Steinway if you combine it with a great 88 key weighted MIDI keyboard 👍🎹
@@fasttrackkeys Sweet! Thanks for the info
How to you fix pedal sound in piano keyboard in soundpaint??? when i push the pedal it create sound in soundpaint like banging soft string
COUND I CHANGE THE FOLDER AFTER DOWNLOADING?
Hey man yes you can change the download folder no problem 👍 you can have multiple directory folders in the soundpaint menu and then save the libraries wherever you like on your computer
sir what DAW are you using to run this vst?
Hello there I’m using Logic Pro X 🎹👍
I downloaded the plugin but my mac says that there is not any program I can open these plugins. What program should I download to open these, and how can I set it in the logic pro x as a midi?
Thanks!
Hey, you need to download the soundpaint engine from www.soundpaint.com and then download the 1928 Steinway piano separately…
Then you can open the piano inside soundpaint which you can open as a separate app on your Mac, or you can open it as a plug-in in Logic Pro x as a software instrument…
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions on it 👍
I see, but how can I open it as a plugin in logic pro x? I found the keyboard in soundpaint and it works, but i don’t know how to take it to the logic.
Thanks so much!❤
Oh cool awesome glad you have got it working, when you install the soundpaint engine it will also automatically install itself as an AU plug in which you can then open in Logic.
So when you open Logic Pro just make a new software instrument and from the drop down menu on the left hand side where you select your software instruments, just go all the way to the bottom where it says AU instruments, and from there you should see soundpaint which you can now open as a software instrument in Logic 👍
@@fasttrackkeysIt didnt because it writes error under the files, and it does not appear as an au instrument. Do you know why or what should I do?
Ah it sounds like it might be an issue with the installer, it could be what system you are on, are you on Mac or pc? Best to contact soundpaint suppprt on their site from the homepage 👍
3:00 pad is like 🌌🌺 i cannot describe it's delightful vibe pls breakdown or reveal the track name
I have a question, how do you manage to make the piano from soundpaint sounding like this ?
Hello there, oh yes I had this issue too because I’m on an older version of OSX, what version of OSX are you currently running?
What strings or pad sound is on the background?
Hi, which point in the video is it that you are hearing it? It could be baked in to one of the soundpaint piano presets
What piano software are you using to display you midi keys ?
Hello there, it’s called MIDICULOUS 4.0, and then I’m using ECamm live to add it to the bottom portion of my screen with Logic Pro X above it 👍🎹
@@fasttrackkeysIs midiculous 4.0 free to download?
Impressive❤
Thanks glad you like the video 👍🎹
how selected a sound in soundpaint ?
Hi there, you can just go to programs and then if you have installed correctly you should see under piano in the left hand menu, you just double click the program you want to load, for example ‘’main 2 mic” hope that helps
Can it be used on any audio recording software?
Does the sound have delay when you play it in real time?
No delay it’s all played in real time yeah, try my Logic Pro X latency video on the channel if you are getting any latency
why when i record midi ,, after 1 minute the sound freezes in fl studio , any help :( ,, and BTW i cant increase the voljme like urs
Hi I’m not sure maybe it’s an update thing, I use Logic Pro x and it works great
Never could get 1928 plugin to work. My sound paint had not option for purchase. Just missing. Oh well
Ah okay, you just need to go to the menu in soundpaint (top left) and then I think it’s directories, and then select the folder on your computer where you have installed the 1928 Steinway library 👍
how do i download the Soundpaint 1928 Steinway Piano
Hi there, just need to click the link in the video description and it will take you straight to the download page
Thank you for recommending these amazing free VST!!! I am using logic pro to make demo, but I think the piano and string's sound are weird and not realistic. Should I need to buy Kontakt for different realistic sound sources? And where can I find other free VST?
Hi Jason, thanks glad you enjoyed the video, you don’t necessarily need to buy Kontakt as you can get Kontakt 7 player for free, but there are plenty more both free and paid VSTs in my free music maker tool kit in the virtual instruments section, you can download it for free here www.fasttrackkeys.com/toolkit 🤛🎹

how can i use the sounds with ableton
Hi Amir, you just download the soundpaint engine from their site, plus the free piano vst… and then you can open it as a software instrument inside Ableton just like you would load any other sound 👍
how do you use the soundpaint already downloaded but i cant hear the keys
Hello there, you just need to download the piano library from soundpaint.com, there’s two things you need to download, 1. The soundpaint engine (app) 2. The 1928 Steinway piano from their site. Then you can open the soundpaint app on your computer and you can go into the menu to point it to where you have saved the piano samples 👍
Why does my soundpaint sound shitty? I use that same Main 2 Mic as you. It sounds not good, like in a can or under water.
Not sure, are you playing on a midi keyboard with a sustain pedal? Without the sustain pedal it doesn’t sound as realistic
@ yes. I have yamaha p45. I think my usb cable is just weak and sucky. Or maybe its me that is sucky
