I’m a 58 y/o disabled veteran who discovered your channel today. When I was your age I wanted to do what you two are doing. The woman I was married to at the time said “absolutely not.” Long story short, I am now watching the two of you living a dream I had and you are doing it perfectly. You have a fan for life. ❤
Oh. I'm a 54 year old widow ( daughter of the pictured couple). I wanted to do up an old place too. Living in Australia it's not easy as we are only a couple of hundred years of settlement. And in Western Australia it's less than 200 years. So I longed to live in Europe or the UK. So it didn't happen. But it's nice to see young people living the dream.
Yes! I’m 56 in USA. I love love older homes. I’ve always wanted to buy and restore one. Unfortunately things don’t always go as planned but it is a joy to watch someone else live out their dreams.
Too bad you did not follow your true heart. You would've found another once you headed your desired path. Anyone tells me "absolutely not," to what my heart authentically wants it's, "See ya." Lose sight of self for no one; it's a hefty cost to self.
To be fair not every young couple have the same financial help that this young couple may have and therefore aren't in any position to buy let alone renovate such an incredible property. In Australia you'd be lucky to buy any house of any size nowadays.... It's an unreachable dream. I would have loved to have done it too. 😢 ( I'm not the lovely couple pictured on this profile, I'm their lucky third child. Lol. ( 54yrs young and still their child lol ).
Social media has definitely been an asset in these sort of vlogs. Your age has definitely brought people’s attention to the renovation. No one looks at the hard work and real time jobs people have to do to get where others are today. Your portfolio and previous experience has seemed to help you with home. Your vlogs and pleasant nature are worth watching. Thank you
I am watching this video in mid January 2025 and have seen what you have accomplished to this date, I think you are easily going to at least quadruple your buying price when complete. It is obvious you have spent a small fortune on the renovation so far , you've had to, it's going to be a fabulous investment , you have improved immensely every aspect of the house and thankfully you rescued it from being a potential HMO to the family home it was originally built to be. Congratulations.
Bravo. I’m 37 and in my 4th house. I’ve always bought houses that need work and lived in them while upgrading them. Didn’t have a working toilet in the current house for little over a month. Worth it though. This house has been flipped and the value has gone up. But I’ve always upgraded to better neighborhoods. It’s exhausting but worth it. And rewarding to do the work yourself. No mortgage on my last 3 houses. Used the profit and savings and have been very frugal with diy.
@@mR-dc4oq thanks. Grants are a massive help. Furnace and water heater being replaced this month. It’s a 20k job and I only have to pay 1,200 due to my income.
I think it's GREAT that two young people without kids are putting in the sacrifice and hard work to do something they seem to love and something so worthwhile! I live in the US and follow a channel of an older couple that have been doing restoration flips on old villas in Spain. The older homes and architecture in the US is so stark compared to Europe. And your garden! 😍 It's so rare here to find gardens and stone work like you have here. I mean REALLY rare. Restoring these homes 🏡 is also a service to the world! I've watched so many older homes here get bulldozed. 😖 Thank you for taking the time to share your journey 🙏
Young folks like the two of you give me hope for the future, mature way beyond your years you should both be very proud of yourselves. Would love to see the previous builds. Thanks for sharing.
Obviously a very smart young couple who understands real estate is an asset and one can make big bucks buying and remodeling and selling. Bravo! Love your hard work!
Thanks for this, really good of you to be transparent- so many people on social media aren't! As a 27 year old looking to buy a house as well it's great to get an idea. I'd be keen to see other houses you've done and learn more about your story, how you started on the property ladder and at what age etc.😊
Just found your channel and am really enjoying seeing you do up this house. It brings back memories, as back in the 80's, my parents bought an old Victorian house in the Cotswolds where i grew up. I spent so much time helping Dad out while he did the place up, we were told there was a basement that was boarded up, but never did find the door as the room it was supposed to be in was recently decorated so Dad didn't want to strip those walls back, what a shame!! We did find plenty of other things around the house, including a load of old pins under the floorboards of the biggest bedroom, we found out sisters who were seamstresses lived there in the 1800's. Outside while dad was digging to put a patio in, he found an old white sink buried and under it was a giant square slab of stone. It was so big and heavy we had to rig up a whole load of levers and get help from friends to heave it off, where underneath was a deep well. I look forward to seeing what else you find!
I love the outtakes. In general it is such a serious business spending your hard earned cash on the massive improvement of your home, it's nice to see the fun side too.
I’m renovating my family’s old ranch house to be able to save our family ranch but I’m older and with a toddler and a partner who is not available to help me. After giving my all physically without much sleep for about a year and a half I had major burn out and severe fatigue. It’s very important to pace oneself and to know and respect limits. (I got heat stroke after working in 114 degree heat for multiple hours.) I was UA-cam-ing how to do things with my little one on my hip lol we were quite the team! I love how calm, patient and dedicated you both are. Way to take care of yourselves and each other in the process. Love from CA ❤

Think outside the box. Im 34 and had 5 houses by the time i was 27, was a millionaire by 31. It’s achievable for normal people, not everyone is “just rich”. Everyone has to start somewhere
@@JG-OK I agree! My first three reno’s were completed before I and my first husband were 30. First reno’ was an old stone 1915 farmhouse 15kms from the CBD of the small city of Adelaide. Beautiful ’bones’, but at the unfashionable end of town. Second project was a stone 1890’s 2 storey within the ‘square mile’ of the city. The third (after separating) was a 30 year old, 2 bedroom, upstairs unit, in a group of 30. Starting with very little money, all renovations were done by ourselves, as we could afford, on our very low income jobs. It takes awhile to crawl up the property ladder, but if you’re a good saver, frugal and can think of creative solutions, it can be done.
@@meridiefricker4156 Absolutely. The hardest step is making that something out of nothing. That’s real hard, and feels like getting blood out of stone. Those who are lucky and get that initial seed money still need to work hard to turn it into something
@@mollymalone2838 I sell houses for a living and I can categorically tell you that they definitely had help in order to cash buy a property. Even a £20k gift of a deposit can have a snowball effect. Although they’ll probably forget they had that help and believe it’s all down to saving money.
@@mollymalone2838 Oh without a doubt. Presuming university, between the age of 21/22 and 26/27, you're not casually savings £410,000 between the two of you. There just isn't the time or budget / taxes etc. I'm guessing parents bought them a starter home - which when sold bought the house. Now they have the house, the UA-cam income / working is probably paying for the renovation.
I'm 100% super curious about previous projects and just your background in general for both of you - like how you got into this, how you acquired previous properties, etc. Love the transparency on the budget, I think a lot of people (in US at least) don't stick to their budget and get in over their heads.
I don't normally write a comment but you guys have took me back to my early days I have total respect to you both with what I just watched ..... Ive done around 9 conversions within my lifetime and got where i need to be now with the beautiful house that is perfect for our needs and owning my own property of course .... it was a challenge for the kids at the time moving and living rough but they forgive me now that their all grown up !! lol.... the biggest thing with you both , and why i take me hat off for you both ....is that you start at such a young age and have got the mentality and passion to do this ...im sure you both know its a very hard strain on life , friends and your relationship with consent hurdles and cash flows around every corner .....well done guys !!! i think you both have such mature nature with great life goals as I did ......keep that focus as its a rare trait nowadays and you'll always succeed take a bow and best of luck
I would love to see your previous projects. You are so responsible. You and the villa were meant for each other. Lots of people can learn from your example. Well done.
Thanks for sharing your renovation journey! As an American, I find it very interesting to see how some things are different from where I live. The plaster process has especially been interesting. I’m amazed that in your mid-20’s you both have already owned your own homes. It’s sadly become less and less common for younger people in the USA to be able to afford to buy a house!
Our daughter did exactly the same as you did! Seven bed, Victorian, owned by three business men who wanted it in the location as their children were coming here for Uni. It was a huge amount of money when first listed. Then over time it dropped and dropped as they had let it out for multiple occupancy to student. Much need to be done with it, they are still making improvements sixteen years later. But doing it to last the test of time using and sourcing original materials that fits the era it was built in. They sold both their properties for great prices as they invested in both of those also.
Absolutely no disappointment at all!!! You two should be so proud of yourselves! "You both really have your heads on straight"......something we say in America. All the very best to you both!!
I would love to see your previous renovations. I am so inspired by you two and love watching your updates on Belgrave Villa and listening to the banter back and forth between you both ❤
You should be very proud. Its nice to see older building restored instead of doing them up into flat’s ect. I am trying to buy my rented house now at 46 on my own and its such a struggle. You guys have done amazing. Loving the content, please keep it up ❤x
I'll be interested in your previous projects, and i really appreciate to see "young" people like you being invested in renovating such a beautiful house
The only reason you don't see young people restoring is because they can't afford it. All we can do is look in horror as flippers and older people destroy beautiful houses due to poor taste and profit. I'm genuinely baffled that at 26 both had houses that were worth over 200,000 on average each. That's a lot of daddy and mummy's money that has allowed this.
Plenty of "young" people want to renovate beautiful houses! The issue is that the average first home buyer in the UK is in their mid-30s, and even then they're mortgaged to the gills so would be in their late 30s/early 40s until they can afford a renovation. Unless you're born into the land owning class, you're buggered.
I found your channel yesterday, and I just could not stop myself from binge watching all of your content on here. Your voices are so relaxing to listen to, and your spontaneous singing brings me so much joy!!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!!! 🎉
I'm really excited for the 2 of you. It's going to be really expensive to bring this beautiful home back to life and all the repairs. You always find something unexpected when renovating that breaks the budget. Good luck!
I just found you today and I absolutely LOVE that you have taken on such a gorgeous house and are willing to put so much love, money, and time into it.❤
I enjoy your story! Keep sharing what you can. You are doing it right. I appreciate that you are preserving this old home's design instead of doing a contemporary style reno.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your renovations. You two have worked great together. I’m still watching and I’m bing watching and love every show. I’ve got to say you two have grit and are very hard working individuals. I wish I could see it. That won’t happen but thankfully tv has made it possible. Thank you so very much.
Would love to see past Reno stuff you guys did for sure! ... and this was very helpful and answered questions I had but didn't ask! love your channel and so excited to see where you go with this historic home! PS I love seeing the little treasures you find in the fire places, floors and walls. One little house I renovated we found some pretty cool newspapers in really good condition under the original flooring which was so exciting! Keep up the good work guys!!!
I'm binging all these videos, loving them. Im 41 but I bought a 4 bed semi alone to renovate when I was 39 and so many people ask me why I need a big period property on my own. Like you - investment, but again like you, to preserve the original features and make it my home! I'll double my investment if I ever do sell, but I've put my heart and soul into this house and I love it. I had a 5yr plan, so I'd like it completed properly in 5yrs, but I'm taking each area as it comes. The stairs and landing have taken me SO LONG!
You will have happy memories from this. My husband and I bought a farmhouse in Wales in a very similar state 30 years ago, and we still remember our first home.
Leaving my dream! In the US and I have always wanted to renovate an old church into a home, but my husband was injured in the military and now I’m his caretaker. Can’t wait to live vicariously through you guys! Good luck! ❤

Hi guys, thanks for this update,I still think you are both extremely brave to be doing what you are doing, but the care you are taking with the work, this house will turn out to be better than when it was first built, but don't forget to take a break from the work every mow and then, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
Thank you for being willing and be open and honest with the world about how you’re doing this project. My husband and I have also worked our way up the property market by strategically buying, renovating and selling several properties, and it’s a great way to do it, so I think it would likely be very encouraging to others to see how you’ve gotten to this point by showing your past projects!
What an amazing young couple. The thought that was put into the purchase, the renovations and the long term benefits of this property are carefully considered. Looking forward to seeing more from these young people and their beautiful home in the making.
I think it's impressive that you've done so much already, and I'd be interested to see what you did with your previous homes. It looks like you did your homework and came to this project well-informed. You have a lot more house for the money, being willing to do the work. In California you can barely get a 3-bed, 2 bath 'tract house' for that price. Being young, you will have the energy to get this work done. Congratulations!
Your doing what my wife and I wanted to do when we were 20 somethings, but with 4 kids by the time we were 28. So happy for you, and the building is wonderful, so good on you. Even if you didn't think so this was a renovation video. Nice breakdown and wish you lots of fun doing it.
Really appreciate the honesty! A lot of channels don't tell us this stuff. I wish I'd have been as smart as you guys in doing this, I cannot wait to see this project as it comes along. Would love to see your previous ones too!
I love your passion to preserve such a beautifully built home. The house is in the right hands for sure, I wish you both all the best in your endeavors.

You two are amazing. I am loving living your dream from afar. What a wonderful, creative, productive project. As a sixty-something looking back, I have regrets I did not push to undertake something like you are doing. Keep the humour between you and you will go far indeed -- and enjoy the journey. Mazel tov.
Yes it would be nice to see the projects you have taken on before. It makes a lovely change to see a couple of your ages who think things out so well. Many people buy property with their hearts and not their heads, a bit of both is best

Love to watch your stories, you are a great couple doing a great job on the house. Would love to see more of your back story as another set of videos separate to the Wednesday renovation updates
From the outset, I guessed it would have cost £400k so I wasn't far off, and yes I did look online and saw the article you showed where 700k is mentioned. Such a stunning property. I would love to know about your past projects. You must have done a fair few to be able to sell two properties and have somewhere around £half a mil to buy this one AND put aside the initial renovation costs. This truly is a house for life, one to raise a family in as it's absolutely beautiful. I am curious as to the ages of you both. I shall go back to binge watching now so I'm up to date. Thanks for making videos of your progress. /G x
You mentioned about you tube taking you away from the renovations. However if you are all renovations you will burn out and maybe get irritated by little things. Having a full schedule but a varied schedule is a goodwill thing, IMO. Good luck to you both. This is the first of your videos I’ve watched. Will be getting into the first video shortly.
Wonderful project and loving being able to see all your hard work!!👏🏽👏🏽Thank you for taking us on the journey😃Would love to see your other projects as well! Good luck and Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
I'm newly subscribed after watching your birthday video. My first reno was a city multifamily, which I lived in while renovating. You certainly have a well thought out plan. I'd love to see some of your prior work. Your new place will be quite the gem!⚘️⚘️
Your comment in the description of this video says it all. “We are immensely privileged to be surrounded by supportive and encouraging family and friends and you really can't underestimate how much of a leg up that kind of thing is.” So many people feel isolated and alone in this modern world. That sort of support is certainly a leg, a hand and a ladder up.
Here’s the thing. The more limitations and restrictions, you have, the more difficult it will be to active your goals. Yes, if you have no money, no jobs, no income, no family help, no friends, no motivation and you spend every day in your life moping around and doing nothing, you will not achieve your goals. No duh. No one said you can do what they did with no money and no support from friends and family!
@@thehungrygoldfish I love this couple and their energy and enthusiasm and especially the lovely building they’ve chosen to revive and give a new life. I know people that have done this sort of thing because of who they are with very little support from family and friends. But I have seen over the decades thet that sort of support can go along way to someone’s well-being and happiness. Very sorry if you misunderstood my comment, But if that’s not the case, I hope you enjoy the story as much as I do and their conviction and determination at such a young age. That sort of thing got me where I am many decades later and I am now enjoying the benefit of all that hard work and perseverance with very little family support.

Oh without a doubt.
I just found your channel and would love to see older projects you have done. This house is absolutely gorgeous and I’m thrilled you’re renovating it
I'm 100% super curious about previous projects and just your background in general for both of you - like how you got into this, how you acquired previous properties, etc. Love the transparency on the budget, I think a lot of people (in US at least) don't stick to their budget and get in over their heads.
Seeing content from your past projects would be brilliant. Your channel is becoming one of my most watched. 😄
I’m so pleased you have been so transparent, especially going through costa AFTER purchase
I don't normally write a comment but you guys have took me back to my early days
I have total respect to you both with what I just watched .....
Ive done around 9 conversions within my lifetime and got where i need to be now with the beautiful house that is perfect for our needs and owning my own property of course .... it was a challenge for the kids at the time moving and living rough but they forgive me now that their all grown up !! lol....
the biggest thing with you both , and why i take me hat off for you both ....is that you start at such a young age and have got the mentality and passion to do this ...im sure you both know its a very hard strain on life , friends and your relationship with consent hurdles and cash flows around every corner .....well done guys !!!
i think you both have such mature nature with great life goals as I did ......keep that focus as its a rare trait nowadays and you'll always succeed
take a bow and best of luck
Yeah I think showing the other homes and what you did with them would be awesome!! It also shows your skill and dedication to this project!!
Would love to see your other houses , you guys are doing amazing much love from Scotland 🏴
I for one would love to see the other renovations that the two of you have done! And fantastic job on this one so far!! Love watching the progress!
Good luck!
I just found you today and I absolutely LOVE that you have taken on such a gorgeous house and are willing to put so much love, money, and time into it.❤
Yes to the previous houses you've done, that would be really interesting❣
Would love to see previous renovations. Best wishes you two!
I enjoy your story! Keep sharing what you can. You are doing it right. I appreciate that you are preserving this old home's design instead of doing a contemporary style reno.
So glad it went to you and that its being restored !!! wonderful
Wishing you all the best! Love that young ppl are preserving these grand old buildings! Pls take care and take some down time…Happy New Year!
Good luck! ❤
Please tell him thank you for your service God and Jesus Christ bless you and your family
May you and your husband be blessed enough to move forward continuously. Amen
Did he kill a lot brown people?
Yes, that would be interesting to see your other projects that you’ve done in the past thank you for taking the time to show us
Yes please!! I would love to see previous projects!! Thank you!! I love your content!!
I just binged watched all your videos and looking forward to more as they get posted, I think you both are brave and are doing an amazing job. you should be very proud of yourselves. Girl you're a tough cookie and sir I like you are paying attention to details and are doing the jobs right. no cutting corners here, God bless you both.
I just binge watched all the episodes and am looking forward to more! You are a very nice couple and hard working with great editing skills and wit. Keep up the great work! God bless you and your efforts! 😊 🏡
Yes, please. I would love to hear more about what you renovated in your 'stepping stone houses' to gain the experience to take on this huge restoration project. Found your channel by chance and have binge watched all platforms today. Thank you for sharing this portion your lives with strangers like me. ❤
I've just found your channel and will be watching all the other videos. Thank you for being so open about your expenses, costs, and the strategies you employed. So refreshing. Good luck with your journey. Good onya! From Western Australia ❤
Yes to your other fixer upper’s and current renovation. Have been watching from the beginning. Congratulations you both should be proud of yourselves and all your hard work. Hello from Australia ❤
I Would love to see your prior projects. You two are great together. And very savvy on what you can and cannot do and keeping the cost to within your budget
Your previous renovations would be interesting to see. Obviously you have ample experience by now and your willingness to work is how you get well established. Good on you both. Best wishes.
Hi from NZ. Would love to see your previous projects!
Love seeing how far youve come with this renovation. It looks amazing!
Hello from Michigan, USA. I just found your channel last week. I binge watched all your videos. I hope your channel really talks off. Thank you for sharing your journey. 🤎🧡💛
Yes, would definately love to see or hear more about what you've done to other homes and what put you on this path of doing renovations. Also, I'm sure more people are curious abou the two of you as well. Good luck in all you do and keep up the good work. Nice to see the younger generation that's not afraid of hard work and into preserving history.
The ending 😂😂😂😂. You guys are an inspiration. I love the bit where you mentioned preservation.
Yes please, show us how you got all the skills to do this yourself, It is amazing!
I would love to see your previous renovations. Thank you for this video. Cheers.
Thank you for sharing your channel! I’ve truly enjoyed watching and absolutely love what you’re doing to the home. The artifacts you’ve found are so fascinating. You’re both amazing! Keep up the fantastic work and please keep posting-I can’t wait to see more! Watching from San Diego, CA.
this has been so helpful, I am going through this process right now in Germany, and this alleviates so much stress, love your optimistic attitude!
Good for you! And thanks for sharing what you’re leaning along the way, and then taking on-board helpful suggestions. That’s community building!
“We are immensely privileged to be surrounded by supportive and encouraging family and friends and you really can't underestimate how much of a leg up that kind of thing is.”
So many people feel isolated and alone in this modern world.
@@thehungrygoldfish
I love this couple and their energy and enthusiasm and especially the lovely building they’ve chosen to revive and give a new life.
I know people that have done this sort of thing because of who they are with very little support from family and friends.
But I have seen over the decades thet
that sort of support can go along way to someone’s well-being and happiness.
Very sorry if you misunderstood my comment,
But if that’s not the case, I hope you enjoy the story as much as I do and their conviction and determination at such a young age.
That sort of thing got me where I am many decades later and I am now enjoying the benefit of all that hard work and perseverance with very little family support.

I’d love to see the other projects you’ve done. I saw a short and have seen all your videos since Sunday! I’m hooked!

I think it’s great that you purchased the house very reasonably. Good for you👏🏻👏🏻. I would love to see some of your other homes that you’ve renovated.
Absolutely the best time of your lives to take on such a large project. I’ve been investing in property for over 40 years best job ever. Keep up the amazing work guys. Love the work. 👍🏼
I would love to see more of your renovations ❤
Thanks for updating us on the purchase. I would also like to see some of your previous projects. I hope this blows up for you on here to really help with your funding as I'm really enjoying your videos. I'm currently buying a house with my partner, but we didn't want to put the work in ourselves so bought a house that's ready to go, but it's great to see what you guys can achieve with such a big project.
Fabulous ! I thought you might be property developers, good for you! This is a fantastic property and I'm glad this house has you to preserve it and not chop it into a hmo! Looking forward to seeing it all come together.x
I can see you two being future developers and planners. Good luck and all the best for the future
Love to see your previous renovations ..look forward seeing Belgrade House come together ❤
