There's nothing wrong with what she said. She is not saying she wants a thug in a suit. She's saying she likes to be with a man that gives her a sense of protection. That is the nature of a woman. Women were created to want (and need) protection and provision. We're just not used to a woman admitting that so we interpret that to mean she wants a thug.

@arkdestroyer5730Not sure how this is relevant to my comment, but okay....my reply to yoi....Probably because black women limit their choices, and don't venture out to men of other cultures. Its not a women's responsibility to raise communities but because the majority of black men, for generations, bailed out on families, black women was left to survive it. The black man is the root of the problem for leaving and not building, teaching, safeguarding his communities. Boys never grew up with the proper guidance by men showing them how to be men. These are the bulk of men, in the pot, that the women in their communities see.(the softees, the no male guided men that they had to raise by themselves). Black women just need to learn and be more confident to venture out. Lastly, keep in mind, women are not to choose men. Men should choose them or men help their female family members select the right man to join their family empire. That's the proper way. Seems as if the men, who have been weakened, happened to be the same men that complain about women choices, and tend to make women responsible for so much when they were suppose to lead women in the first place.

I don't know all the women in the world or their thoughts, but I see women all the time with men, their height, or shorter. What she's saying is very reasonable. Every woman wants the same thing - a man who can effectively defend himself and her, a man who is capable of being violent to protect her, but someone who doesn't enjoy being violent for no reason. There's nothing wrong with that, she just wants to feel safe.

The good Dr Jordan Peterson once said men should aspire to be dangerous but to be in control. I understand what she meant with this tweet. Now her actions may in her personal life may indeed be contradictory but this tweet made perfect sense to me.

Men should be dangerous & capable of violence. Otherwise you can mistake weakness for virtue. Its similar to learning a fighting skill like martial arts. You learn the skill to be dangerous but at the same time you learn to use restraint. This has nothing to do with being a thug & everything to do with being a man. There's a few videos on yt by Jordan Peterson called, "Men Should Be Dangerous" he explains it a lot better from the male perspective

It's not that hard to find that type of guy. There's millions of them. What I have learned about people in particular is that sometimes, what they say they want and what they actually desire tend to be 2 different things. Keri maybe saying she wants that type of guy but is she really gonna claim that guy?

idk who Keri Hilson is but she's in her 40s talking about this so that's a red flag.
She's gorgeous and single, so this guy is telling me that she couldn't find not ONE good God-fearing man that goes to the gym or boxes in her 20 whole years of being an adult.
Maybe she goes for thugs if this is her result. I don't know her situation so I can't just assume but... i mean idk lol.
