    I enjoy the video and the knowledge that you shared with us and I am just now getting to watch this video because I have been in the hospital since January 2nd and I am glad to be home. So I have some catching up to do and I own the same guitar so I’m happy to see the work that I may need to do. Thanks

      Thank You . . . . Video 3 will be up in the next few days. Still working on the content of that video.... But the frets are Very Shinny now ! ! !
      I have time for some Hardware Install . . . Just not sure how to break down the content vs time yet...
      These videos are fun to make .... love working on Guitars . . . . As I work on them, I think to myself.... Man, this is going to play like butter . . . . LOL
      Thanks for commenting and taking the time out of your day to watch the hole video. I glad you would keep coming back until you had the hole video finished.
      That in its self .... tells me its good info.... and is worth the time for me to do it.
      Thanks again

      My friend you are the first person to do this ! ! ! ! Thank You so much.
      FYI... was playing around with the DST Pedal for the upcoming pedal video.... Man using that Infront of the amp with a Alesis Multiverb 4 in the EXF loop.... BlackStar HT20 on the clean channel.
      WOW ... it sounds way better than I thought it would.
      Alesis Multiverb4 on ebay right now for 130.00 new... Pedal is around 60.00 off Amazon
      so 190.00 for your hole fx system and your boost/drive pedal.
      If your amp has a FX loop you can do this setup. with the Tube BlackStar HT20 amp it is doing well.. Still playing around going from clean to dirt and doing some tuning.... But it seems like a good setup. I will be starting the video recording tomorrow...
      again Thank You so much ...... for helping the channel

      @DominionFretWorks Don't mention it. You have provided so much insight into connecting the dots of how to get to where I want to be. If I ask a question, you never fail to provide an answer.
      Yeah, I haven't pulled the trigger yet on a tube amp or pedals, but I'll get there. I could simply pick up a wha pedal and throw it into the loop with what I have, but after talking with you, I want an analog(ish) set up with some tubes involved.
      I had set playing on the back burner for years - raising my two kids, etc.. but when the pandemic hit, I got back into it. At the time, Positive Grid came out with the spark 40W, and I picked one up. It's not a bad lil amp, IMO, but compared to a tube amp, it lacks a lil. Good for practicing, though.
      Other than the few mods I want to make to FFST, simply for my taste, I couldn't ask for a better strat guitar. ESPECIALLY at that price point!!
      I also need to get the tools I need, so that will be my first thing, then I'll get a tube amp/pedals.
      Thank you for all you do. I know it's no cakewalk getting everything recorded, edited, and uploaded.
      Oh, I also shop on good will looking for the gems that come thru on auction. Yet to win, because if I'm going to pay damn near retail, I might as just buy new, but a Peavey 6505 came up last week, was originally 5150 combo (tube) that I was hoping I could get a deal on. Yeah, someone liked it just as much, if not more than me, and they won it in the last minute.
      Thanks again. Appreciate you!!

    Thank you for documenting your work on this guitar. This video is informative and helpful. The bookmarks are nice. I'll be using it as a reference (as will others). It's greatly appreciated. All the best.

      Thanks for commenting....I was wondering if I should stick to just reviews ..... I see views but no comments.
      I glad you like the video... If one person finds it helpful, I guess it is all good. Thats means I helped someone and that's what it is all about!
      Thanks again for your support !

    How would you approach this when there is binding on the tops of the fret ends (Les Paul Custom)?

      @@DominionFretWorks Sorry, I meant how would you level and crown when there a fret nibs like on bound Les Paul fretboard? Would you just proceed as usual crowning the nibs along with the frets?

    As far as getting a string height guage, do I need both metric and sae, or is that just my preference? 🤘

    • @DominionFretWorks
      @DominionFretWorks  10 місяців тому +1

      Thats a preference thing. Some people use 1 or the other..... OR if you're like me. LOL
      'During the video I use both..... witch I'm sure has people scratching their heads at times..... LOL .

    • @jerrydover4140
      @jerrydover4140 10 місяців тому +2

      @DominionFretWorks Most definitely. I understand that everything from overseas is metric , but also know that it can be converted to sae, generally speaking. Now, which way do I want to go 😂 🤘

    • @DominionFretWorks
      @DominionFretWorks  10 місяців тому

      I have always liked Metric..... It is just easier in very way.... But .... in the USA it has not taken hold yet. But,
      I THINK METRIC IS WAY BETTER AND EASIER TO LEARN.
      Just my two cents.... LOL @@jerrydover4140

    how about a scallop fret board?

    • @DominionFretWorks
      @DominionFretWorks  11 місяців тому +2

      Ya... the scalloped fret board. The two scalloped fret boards I have here still have a shoulder next to the fret before the scallop. You can use that area to check your fret heights based on your wood fret board.
      1 of my scalloped fret boards I can use my 25.5 scale gage on as it will set on that shoulder. But it is still very hard to see how the wood area is setting when adding or remove relief to the neck. I have done it but most of the time I go back after checking that and just use a straight edge along the top of the frets. The fret Guru still works on both of my scalloped guitar necks.... BUT my second scalloped guitar is a fan fret. At no point does my 24.75 - 25.03 - 25.5 gages work on the neck. There are areas where if I move the gage, it gets close to working but.... Nope. That one I have to use a straight edge when checking neck relief.
      When I go to do fret work on these guitars, I will use the should and gage the wood shoulder to the straight edge. I have only cleaned the frets on these guitars as the fret work was so good on them.
      I really try to show everything when working so you can see what I'm doing. I have other video's show fret leveling using a hand light to see the work you're doing. Works very well. The overhead light I'm using in this video works great for shining the frets. Does it work as well as the hand light.... No.... But I have done enough to be able to see what the fret is doing when filing. In this video the tool was a Fret Guru File.... I have used the StewMac Z-files in some of the video... But find trying to show the Z-file and how to use it sometime confuses people. It is a great tool. But the Fret Guru File is set on the radius of the crown. Two side with two different radiuses. This makes crowning much easier and easier to show how to work.
      Hope this helps ! ! !
      Thanks for commenting and joining in. I hope you liked the video !
