Hello from the UK. I’ve just come across your channel this evening. I’m not particularly interested in this guitar, however, I am interested in detailed, informative, long format, high production videos like the ones you produce. The ones I have watched so far have been very interesting and I have learnt a lot. I understand this takes time on the job and then in the edit. Thank you for this. Keep up the great work. You have a new subscriber here.
I picked one of these up about 3 weeks ago, and man am I LOVING it ! I was shocked, to be honest. For $239 or $249.... I think that's what I paid on the G-G web-site... man what a guitar! I threw a black switch-tip on it, and a matching black tone knob. I did that b'c I couldn't find a cream one. LOL But then.... I loved the way it looked. Used my Spanner tool as well, to pull the knob off. It has a little padding under the arms. I never liked the guitar, when Edward went with the MM. I thought it was kind of plain and ugly. Even had a Sterling Axis about 5 or 6 years ago, and did not bond with that at all. But wow. I feel in love with this one - straight out of the box. It did have a few issues - looked serious at first. But they weren't. I raised the trem bridge. Adjusted the springs and tuned, and re-tuned, and re-tuned.... etc. LOL Kept messing with it. Held the Floyd in place while I got the tuning where I wanted it (rough-tuned). Stretched the strings some too. Got it about right... then fine-tuned it. And BOOM!!! Man what a guitar! The pickups are smokin' hot - but somehow they are also articulate. At least... the way I play, and the tone I use. Just a great guitar! I partly made my decision on watching some of your earlier vids on this one. And then Anthony R Javino pushed me over the edge. LOL I think I literally got the very last one. Watched it all one night... then went to get it. Gone. I was so mad. Then several hours last.... it re-appeared. They must have found one more... b'c I grabbed it - and it immediately disappeared again, and has not come back since. I also saw (after) that they did this same guitar, in EVH Stripe. R/B.W. My God. I have to have one of those!!!! I never saw em.' Just saw another toober review 2 of them. I gotta find one! Anyway - cool vid. Your guy will love this guitar.
And every time you do a deep dive on a Firefly, I regret returning mine. Your results are always fantastic. Going to grab an FFST with the locking trem and try to get it playable, as you have shown again and again :0)
Wonderful Job. For Stubborn Knobs I know there is the ESP Spanner Tool but there have been times where I didn't have one so I would wrap some wire around each of my hands like a garrote then slide the wire under the Knob and pull up. Thank you for the video 🍺🇨🇦
Ya... I have the very thin nosed spanner at work.... works every time. But this the know was right down on the body... very little gap. So, I don't know. I may have had problems getting that under there too.
So I had a strat type guitar that was fretting out in the high register…I couldn’t get the action below 6/64…I’m banging my head against the wall…thought I had “ramp up” at the bolt on area…went back and checked the neck and somehow it had bowed up quite a bit…straightened the neck and everything fell into place…just goes to show, you have to check and double check and check again…great work brother 👍
Ya adjusting the truss rod is a job that should be done during the change of seasons.... New guitars sometimes do it more than older guitars. I have a Kramer Night-Swan that I'm chasing the neck on right now... it keeps going back and forth... Low action, you have a have a good fret job and a good setup.
Im starting to enjoy cheap guitars, juat got the leo jaymz skull n bones graphic, had it professionally setup but somehow the neck had a bow in it,wasnt straight at all but the bridge was perfect and the bone nut was cut just right, used the neck gauge like the one you have and after adjusting the truss it was dead on,the negative aspect of cheap guitars is the fact they installed junk parts and its up to the customer to fix the issues but its fun doing things to your guitar
In some cases, YES... You have to install some tuners...sometimes....maybe the pickups are not so good.. But you can build a very nice guitar sometimes for under the 400 to 500 dollar range.... and still under what a name band guitar like it would be ... even at the 650 to 900 dollar mark.
Another awesome video. Will use if I do a big setup in future on mine. The knob was the first thing I replaced as well with a matching cream “Tone” knob… Not sure what they were thinking with the bright white. Bought one of those knob pullers and it worked for me. (Prob same thing you have at work) May have to send my next your way first…
I will be look forward to doing up a guitar for ya ! Now I'm thinking about what you may be thinking ...... FFLP...... FFST ??? or maybe a Leo Jaymz... Monsoon ??? I'm doing up my Monsoon.... Love the hard tail rocker... It just needs some tuners.. bridge screws and a really good fret job and setup.
My Helicopter brother from another Mother ! ! ! ! If I fly my KDS 720 inverted here, is it still inverted on your end or is it right side up as you watch it ? I may need to do some Inverted flying in the back yard... the grass is getting really tall. LOL I miss the Skype Meetings ! Life here has just started to return to Pre-Watching after the parents. Losing them has been hard on us here but I made sure they were well taken care of during the 3.5 years they were with me. Still feels strange here without them. Hit me up on Skype.... Need some outside pointers for the channel... You know the good and the bad.
Boy, whoever buys this guitar ought to be really happy with it-you’ve obviously done a very thorough job! This guitar clearly has some good bones. Where can I find your guitars for sale?
Most of the guitars are listed on Marketplace. Others are ordered by You... shipped here and reviewed... After the review it done up to the liking of its owner. I have done this only 3 times for SUB's here on UA-cam ... These subs have been within driving distance so their was no shipping the guitars after they work was done. I just cannot do Reverb due to their fees... Maybe at some point I will be able to. Right now, UA-cam money really doesn't come into play.... So, it doesn't offset the funds paid for the guitar so it can buy another one. Maybe at some point it will... but doesn't as of this video. You can do a Great Guitar for under 600.00 dollars.... if you pick the right one from the right vendor. Prices for the work goes down on my end for Guitars that are reviewed here. So, in this video the work was at 150.00 dollars plus the guitar. The video makes up the labor loss in this case. In the video I said the fee would be around 280.00 to 320.00.... If I picked this guitar up at one of my local guitars stores for service that would have been the bill to the customer. Keep in mind the store gets part of that money... I don't see the total. Most stores are taking 20 to 25%. This is the way it works for me at my location / area. So, if you want a guitar that has been on the Channel..... Just send me a message. I think we have done over 40 Guitar reviews.... I would say there are 5 or 6 still here waiting on a home. If that model has already been sold off.... We can order another for you and do it up to your liking.
Great Work !
Thank You !
please check out some of the other Mod/Setup video on the channel !
