Getting Started with Log4OM from an Old Man...

This is an introductory video, but more videos will be coming shortly that will discuss the many intricacies and features that this powerful, and FREE, program offers.
Log4OM V2 is a full-featured contact logging program with too many features to list here. But I will be presenting numerous videos, with each featuring one or two topics, making them shorter, but still informative.

Hi Tom - I'm enjoying your series on Log4OM. I had tried it out in the past and I was frustrated by the Awards program. I just could not get it to easily check things like LoTW DXCC, for example, or WAS credits by band. Those are just examples, but if you can do a video on that, then if it seems easy enough I will probably give it another try. Thanks for the good series. 73 KN3A.

Please forgive me for asking but how is the radio (FT-5DR for example) connected to the pc to be able to use this software? is it the cable that came with the FT-5DR? Cable model?

I’m really not sure about Yaesu HTs. I’m using Log4OM for keeping a log of HF contacts. I looked up what is used for RT-Systems programming S/W, and they use a USB cable between the computer and the HT…. Sorry I couldn’t be on more help

FT5D does not have CAT. Just log the QSOs with a handheld manually. The automated logging is for base or mobile radios with computer control.
