Back is a strong word 😅, I have uploaded 2 videos after the channel update video. Video production has slowed to a crawl but I will be uploading when I can
It's not just the wheel base or the axle design that affects how the wagons manage the curves. The distance between the coupling and the axle also has a huge impact, which only gets worse with S bends. While you can't easily do it with the Lego switches, S bends are easier to navigate if there's a short straight between the two bends (Trixbrix do some very short track pieces).
Thanks for another great video. I Always look on Blue Brixx kits as a set of parts at a good price. Even if you have to alter the build or swap out a few parts they are still good value. I also like that they make parts like train windows in colours Lego don’t do or are hard to find.
YES you definitely have to swap out the wheels. The tanker car was the only one I still had problems with after the wheel change. I still had to reduce the wheel base by 2 studs. Awesome review!
Not sure if a person would use these as fodder to build more tankers from set 7939 or a longer tanker with 4 sets of the wheels on a LEGO train base....😂
I'm really impressed with the bluebrixx buffer magnet performance in this video. It would be great to do a video putting them through their paces with longer and heavier trains on the trixbrix inclines.
I agree, the only problem is BlueBrixx doesn't currently sell the buffers by themselves. I think I saw something that made me think they might in the future
It's an option but I don't know how good it would look with these. I have some plans to rebuild these in the future and adjust the buffers / wheels to work better
YES, exactly. The axle spacing is even farther apart than the Lego "stock" tank car. Resistance in the corners will be terrible. Perhaps modify the bogies to articulate. Another "fix" that I've done is to use silicone lube that is safe for plastic to help the axles. I like the value for the wagons, though! I will look into these. Also, the AliExpress stuff I have bought so far is great - the R72 track is excellent.
I have limited experience with alt trains. The alt couplers were weak, the wheels were bad (compared to Lego plastic), and a boggle plate broke. I replaced all that with Lego and still came out money ahead.
I've heard that they plan on replacing their train wheels with a new design soon. I can't wait to try them and compare them to Lego and other third party suppliers. The couplers I got with these wagons seemed to work better than my Lego couplers
I changed the axle and added ball bearings on nearly every bluebrixx train wagon. After the change they perform even better then the Lego train wheels - i take changing the wheels over having near to none / overpriced Lego trains
Although it wasn't the point of this particular video, I just want to say that the BNSF is a beast (as you said), and really love it. I dig what you did with it.
Whoa is he back?!?! What a pleasant surprise in my feed!!

Things would definitely improve if you make the axles + buffers rotate, instead of fixed to the frame.

The round plate on top needs a jumper plate underneath to center it.
I think I'm going to completely rebuild them. If I come up with something I like I'll be sure to share it on the channel
12:20 One way you could do a double boogie is by using Jacobs boogies

3:50 - Too large distance between coupler and wheels

I feel like the distance would be less of a factor if the buffers were allowed to rotate.
@@boulevardbricks508 eventually upgrade from single axel to boogie system will do the trick
Like the switch-point actuators you have made.
The switch machine for the TrixBrix switches are Novakasa's design. There are instructions in the discord 👍

A bit disappointing that you did not do this bit in German....
I can assure you the disappointment would be higher if I had tried 😅
