Magic can be done either through materials or mental. Newt uses mental magic quite often ( e.g: not using wand or other materials ), which shows his understanding of magic and the capacity of his ability. Material magic is the most basic of all magic delivery. Wands, swords, rings and etc. You name it. As long as it's not done without any sort of material, that magic stays quite weak unlike mental magic which requires the user of said magic to be fully focused and calm so as to not cause any imbalance in their mental state. Which being said, with Newt being such a calm cinnamon roll, his ability to pull of tricks without using other materials is just amazing. If anything, he's on par with Dumbledore in term of ability to use mentally generated magic, just a bit more peace loving and introverted.
Wait! I just realized newt release zouwu without his wand, that mean he can do a magic without his wand. Which is a hardest things to do for a wizard/witch if I'm not mistaken
For most witches and wizards in the series wandless magic is difficult because it's become ingrained in the culture, it was revealed by Rowling that wands are mostly used by Europeans and in places like Africa (where we know Newt spent some time as that's where he found Frank the Thunderbird) most don't use wands at all, so it makes sense where he's more traveled than most that he'd have a little more skill with wandless magic.
This is what i love the most about HP and FB universes. How magic is personal, how it is really representative of the witch or wizard. Voldemort's magic is deadly, dark, quick and powerful. Which reminds me of a snakes bite. Harry has a more luminous magic associated to him (lumos, expecto patronus, etc) -which reminds me of his scar in a lightning shape - and it is always increasing in power. His spells are colorful. Hermione despite being brilliant has a sweet and protective magic. (Her little flames, her helping Harry and Ron..) and here, it reminds me of her patronus form. Dumbledore is powerful af yet is humble with that (I mean he doesnt use it to make him the greatest wizard in the world nor to make everyone bow to him). He does a lot a complicated spells (him being skilled at metamorphosis), which include so much power and strength to do so (just look at the impact of his spells in HP and FB). There is no wizard like him. He's strong, powerful and "rare" - which makes me think of the phoenix that is always associated to him. And Newt here is not the most powerful, not the brightest. His spells are not the most difficult ones, the most impressive. Yet he is skilled. He knows what he is doing. He doesnt need to formulate them. He simply does what is needed in that exact time. Some are useful for his job (we all know that magical creatures mean the world to him), some are simple and taught in the first years at Hogwarts, some are used for fighting something, but it always shows one thing: Newt acts with the heart. And I think his magic shows that really well.
0:50 why didn't they use this in the harry Potter movies to find out what happened to harry and shit. This magic makes me wonder why was it difficult for everyone to search for Voldemort, or why most crimes are not solved
It looks like the casters have to hold that spell active by constantly fuelling it with magic. While Grindelwald was powerful, Voldemort was even more so because he sacrificed his humanity for power. He wasn't as skillful and knowledgeable as Dumble's boyfriend, but his spells hit like a battering ram. (My thoughts on this)
It isn't Fiend fyre, its a different spell called "Protego Diabolica" (Sorry if I spelled that wrong), you can find it in the screenplay for the movie.
you can see fiendfyre in the last HP movie, too. goyle or crabbe uses it in the room of requirements. and im pretty sure voldemort uses it in his duel with dumbledore as well
This is closer to how wizards in life would cast their spells if magic were real: soothing, poetic, and calm, unlike in Harry Potter when everyone yells like they're about to perform Naruto jutsus
he's one of the most powerful wizard in my opinion, he face grindelwald twice, and he can cast a spell without his wand. I read somewhere only a powerful wizard such as dumbledore can do that. is that means he can beat grindelwald or dumbledore? and eddie potraying newt really well. you can feel that he's really powerful and skilled wizard, but he keep it down and simple. kudos for JK for choose eddie even years before they make this movie
wandless magic is common every wizards can its just takes more effort to control it without a wand. wand is a tool to help control wizards magic. newt is a full grown wizard it doesn't mean that he is a match to the great wizards like dumbledore or grindelwald
Im here to say that, If you dont know It, Newt is someone that has some scale of authism - hence his diverse personality, different gestures and sometimes odd behavior. That's SO AMAZING representative I absolutelly love It.
In this movie we get to see the capabilities of a Hufflepuff, I'm happy that the other houses are getting more credit than just griffindor or slytherin

so is english ....
So is FRENCH
And spanish
Is because is latin
Me, being a spanish speaker, I can understand them too:
Ascendio/Ascenso
Accio/Aquí
Confundus/Confundir
Lumos/Luz,
Papirus Reparo/Reparar Papel,
Revelio/Revelar,
Riddikulus/Ridículo,
Ventus/Viento
Finite/Fín
Newt is naturally gifted
all magic spell he did was so ✨ beautiful ✨
Scamander : riddikulus😇😇😇
Whole harry potter : RIDDIKULUUUUSSSS!!!🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
I like it when Newt fights with his suitcase in one hand, he seems like a badass
Until it gets blown up and 50 tons of animal remains splatter all over. Newt would need therapy after that. Poor guy. Hope it's not Gestalt. That'll push him over the edge.
He really is. He killed 2 aurors from MACUSA. Swooping Evil ate their brains. But to give justice for him they wanted to catch him and send him for death penalty.
Love how quiet his spells are so when he actually shouts them it has impact, like the finite spell
Damn so any spells and so clean and precise ! Beautiful art is one word to describe newt's magic
His spell control and calmness with them is fantastic thats my huffleypuffly boi!!
0:09 "What the... Sir, are you alright?"
the strongest weapon of a bad guy is that a good guy would do anything to protect innocent people
I really don't understand the reason why some people find it difficult to admit and digest the fact that hufflepuffs can be as successful as the other 3 hogwarts houses
Exactly, PuffyBunny house sounds just as hard core as the other ones.
True. They just do not seek for power. Accept for Newt we also have Tonks and Cedric. Those were quite successful young wizards
Yes, absolutely right
Newt is such an adorable cinnamon roll
Who ever playing Grindelwald next has some big shoes to fill
hopefully they reinstate johnny
Why what happened to Johnny Depp?
@@hamzamalik-ln3ch Amber Heard accused him of abuse a couple years back, now he's lost a court case against a tabloid that called him a wife beater, and despite evidence that Amber abused him, and her history of abuse, Warner Brothers fired him but allowed Amber to stay.
I really like how the magic was done in these movies, it’s got so much life to it.
Newt is one of the smartest wizard in this magic universe knowing well with spell and magic beats
This magic makes me wonder why was it difficult for everyone to search for Voldemort, or why most crimes are not solved
possibly some obscure spell from some far of location that newt learned, who knows
Harry: *SCREAMS SPELL*
Newt: Papyrus Reparo :)
A talented wizard and pleasant gentleman for sure
Newts know and do more spells than all of the professors in hogwarts lol... 😂😂😂
Why they never use 2:40 spell againts dark Lord & his followers when they attacking hogwards.
(My thoughts on this)
you actually have to hold the wand and cannot let go of it

One of the best instances of Fiend-fyre I've ever seen. ^^
Newt is so POWERFULL!
Is another level of magic.
He's rock
Love him
A high level hufflepuff wizard in action.
I love this man with all my fricking heart
Reparo would fix a lot of problems for me. Literally.
The handclaps on the moment of Newt has transformed the Boggart was too early before the creation appeared hahaha
No, it was on time.
you just showed the whole movie in just 3 minutes
you sure you are a muggle?
First time we really get to see Fiend Fyre and i love it!!
It isn't Fiend fyre, its a different spell called "Protego Diabolica" (Sorry if I spelled that wrong), you can find it in the screenplay for the movie.
you can see fiendfyre in the last HP movie, too. goyle or crabbe uses it in the room of requirements.
and im pretty sure voldemort uses it in his duel with dumbledore as well
It was nice to have a protagonist with years of magical experience.
It’s really cool seeing an experienced young adult wizard.
The way he pronounce the spells is so hot
This is what differs an experienced and fully educated wizard from a student. Massive variety of spells with all graceful technique
This is closer to how wizards in life would cast their spells if magic were real: soothing, poetic, and calm, unlike in Harry Potter when everyone yells like they're about to perform Naruto jutsus
0:58 is that a niffler?
Yeah
he's one of the most powerful wizard in my opinion, he face grindelwald twice, and he can cast a spell without his wand.
0:38 ah yes my favorite spell
*hair blower*
Calm and elegant
Nick had a fear of working a desk job for the rest of his life? Relatable
Yo, winggardium leviosa looked "extra" with the way he do his spells. 😂
That RELASHIO was legit Therapy
I love the wizarding World 🧡
Can someone make a list of all these spells please?
He kind of sounds so exasperated and done when he casts spells 🤣🤣🤣 especially when he casted Apare Vestigium
Im here to say that, If you dont know It, Newt is someone that has some scale of authism - hence his diverse personality, different gestures and sometimes odd behavior.
That's SO AMAZING representative I absolutelly love It.
this is what adult's magic world looks like😏
This series will overcome hype of harry potter
He’s playing Pokemon with all of these Beasts
Fear of desk officr work, Newt must be my soulmate 😂
ニュートの魔力は凄すぎる。

In this movie we get to see the capabilities of a Hufflepuff, I'm happy that the other houses are getting more credit than just griffindor or slytherin
I like how newts biggest fear is literally paper work
Finite was the coolest spell I saw in the film
Edit: nvm I also think that protego diabolica is cool too
I like how he uses Ventus to distract, clean and dry.
I think that may have been the best moment of my life
🥰🤣
just noticing now that the Relashio was wandless
He was in Ugadu there they teach wandless magix
1:30 the niffiler was like 'oh come on'
Harry : *Expectooo Petronuuuuuuum* XD
Ok the people complaining about the difference between Harry and Newt is dumb. Not only is Newt more experienced with magic but he is calm with his magic because that’s the characteristics of a Hufflepuff.
And everything is ruined since Johnny Depp is no longer Grindelwald. FU #AmberHeard. 😕
i never watch HP even a single movie b'coz i don't know! or maybe because i dont like it or it's like just for kids.. but this Scamander movie damn even trailer i'm so excited to watch it...
1:37 i remember this on harry potter
The wand choose it's owner. Remember that guys. And look those newt's wand.. The ear for tracking things like fantastic beast..
Unfortunately I think these spells kind of break the world building... That evidence finding spell could have been used in harry potter and the entire series would ve been cut short
eeeehhhh you could boil that down to it requires ingredients that Hogwarts didn't have, and Newt could get becuae he travels? Lol but excuses aside I agree.
@@3Katapa put its a spell?
@@fabiosilva9637 making a new spell requires more than a spell model. It requires it's own set of ingredients that acts like activation code for it
@@cielo4413 I don’t understand how that would have limited its use in hogwarts during harry potter’s time.
@@fabiosilva9637 it might be from an entirely different region of earth, and not known by most british wizards and witches
