The advice my mom gives me when I throw out clothes is "Is it timeless? It is sentimental? Would your kids want it?" And with that mentality her clothes have gone through my older sister and myself. I literally wear all of my mom's classic pieces that I literally love to death. If you really love it and it's super pretty and the quality is good. Then keep it! You never know when your kids might go through your closet and end up wearing it because that piece is back in style.
I love how Freddy gives a breakup speech to each of the things she gets rid of "its not you its me"

In my opinion, I think Freddy should keep the & Other Stories white dress. She wears it all the time on her Instagram stories and I think it looks better on her figure.

We moved about three weeks ago, you BET I did not get rid of not one piece of clothing. In fact I went to H&M one last time and bought two new silk blouses xD

I notice only one Ted Baker item. I’ve been dying to get an answer to this…. Why don’t fashion influencers ever feature Ted Baker???? I LOVE Ted Baker and for you in particular i for sure think it’s your style!
Actually there were at least four Ted Baker items, she's always raving about ted baker in her clearout videos, and how she used to save up all her money to buy them when she was younger. She features TB literally all the time!

@@katiewright1987 I think thats just because its not necessarily trendy. Its a very specific style thats just not as much en vouge atm. Although I definitely think TB is so much more classy than most trends 🤷🏼♀️

Years ago I was able to buy a few of Freddy’s tops off of Depop, but that was before everything sold out in a matter of minutes. They are still my favorite tops.
Between the two white dresses, keep the one with the buttons. Let the rest of your “maybe” pile go. Onwards and upwards!

Anything you’re not sure about just get rid of! It’s painful and you might miss them at some point but it’ll be worth it. Really look at everything and ask yourself “do you want to display this in your new space and do you want to wear this in the next chapter of your life?” Very hard questions but you’re a fashionista and I think you’ll be happier opening the closet and seeing the pieces you love putting on and wearing out and about vs looking and feeling guilty about all the clothes you never wear year after year. You look amazing in everything so it’s really just about how you feel

When choosing between two very similar items that you love, I suggest choosing the better fabric and quality item one. Or, choose the longer one, it’s time to move away from teeny-bopper super-short items.
My wardrobe literally being a 1/4 of Freddy's wardrobe
I put sentimental pieces in storage. I still have flower girl dress, baptism dress, prom dresses, wedding dress, sari, bridesmaid dresses, etc.
My mom kept her dresses and I wore them as dress up or Halloween costumes.
I even have a skirt suit my great grandma bought in Boston in the 50s.
Way to be ruthless! 👏👏👏 Moving on to new and exciting things! 🍾

My go to when pairing down my wardrobe is if it is a maybe, it’s basically a no. If you don’t love it, don’t keep it.
Alternatively keep your maybes on the back side of the rail in your closet. If you wear it, hang it back up the right way. Decide on a time period (1-3 months) and if it’s still turned wrong way round, get rid of it.

How do you keep your clothes looking so nice? Washing/caring etc. I have had to get rid of so much clothes due to them getting destroyed in the wash. I would love to know how you keep your clothes looking great for so long! ☺️💕
You have to buy quality clothes in the first place. Than you should always wash them following the instructions😅
Besides buying good quality clothes, try to avoid putting clothes in the dryer whenever you can. Lace, silk, light cottons and linens air dry fast and should never see the insides of a dryer. Also knitted sweaters should be always air dry flat. If you have time, handwash everything delicate.
Also, the fact she hangs them deffo helps. No creases etc
Agree with everything written above. Wash bags are good for some “nice clothing” that can go in the washing machine on a delicate cycle. You pop the garments in the bag and then put it in the washing machine, it protects & preserves them
Me too. I switched to non toxic, natural laundry products, I also pre-rinse my whites with white vinegar and sometimes laundry bleach before throwing it in just in a bowl of warm water, especially if the stains aren’t budging, it also brightens colours, soften them and remove any dirt, stains, buildup from washing powders. bicarbonate of soda is also fab for adding to a pre-rinse! I try to wash on no higher than a 1000 spin. I know Freddy has said before she gets some of her clothes dry cleaned 💕

I think proper fit is key when trying to look your best! If you are having issues with proper fit with some of your garments but have difficulty finding the motivation to go to a tailor, I have a little tip you may find helpful. Hang the items needing alterations out in the open and in the most obtrusive and inconvenient spots... like in front of a mirror or frequently used door. The more unsightly and inconvenient, might provide enough inspiration to finally prioritize a visit to your tailor! When you hang it neatly and tidily inside the wardrobe, out of sight and out of mind, it may never make it onto your actual to-do list. This tip works for me for the shoe repair, dry cleaners and other tedious and necessary errands as well! 😉☺️😊 I hope you might find it a helpful tip for you. 🥰
You do whatever makes the most sense to you, but if I were moving to a new home with lots more wardrobe space, not to mention after living through lockdowns for almost a year and a half, I would definitely wait before struggling to get rid of things for the sake of getting rid of things you haven’t worn in a while. It makes sense that you haven’t worn most of your nicer things out and about in our times of loungewear and rarely going places. Just providing a little different perspective before you get rid of something lovely you may regret. Of course, and as always, you do whatever works best for you! 🥰😘🥰

This video makes me excited to see the set up of your wardrobes and if you’ll utilize all three rooms containing wardrobes! Will they be set up... Seasonally? By clothing type (tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear or tops, blouses, shorts, skirts, trousers, jeans, dresses, jackets, coats)? Color coordinated? From short to long? I just love watching Freddy’s closet decluttering video because that is the time when we can really learn what clothes that we really need or want in our wardrobe, not compensating the space for things we actually don’t really like from the bottom of our hearts.

I love the corsage skirt a lot, but I don't think you need to save it for any specific occasion. It seems like an easy thing to wear on a nice walk with a special someone paired with one of your basic or bohemian tops.

My life has been a crazy whirlwind lately - vacation, family, finals, we just moved this weekend, etc. And now today I found out I have COVID, same with some of my family members. 😞 We should be fine though. Thank goodness for Freddy’s videos - they are a light for me right now. ❤️
