    Antoine,
Glad I found your channel a few months ago.
You have a knack for answering those questions that are circling around most of us hobbyists'
heads. Amongst the reviews that I've checked out on the "lifestyle" format projcetors, including yours, there is a consensus that the Hisense C1 rates the best in Cinematic performance. But before this new format of projectors was released , I was already looking into what the compromises were in investing in 4K projectors using pixel shifting processor vs Native 4k chip technology.
You're the first hobbyist whose acknowledged seeing a clear difference between these processing technologies. Thanks for confirming my concerns that there IS an actual viewing experience difference. Now you've created a new problem for my budgeting for a $6000 projector. Grrrrrr. But thanks anyway. My only further concern is that the current processing technology for Native 4K available in today's projectors is not future-proofed for upcoming Cinematic standards. The Sony projector you reviewed is fine for today's Cinematic standards , i.e they can project images processed within the DCI-P3 color gamut range for Professional Commercial Cinema . But the higher end lifestyle projectors (Hisense , JMGO , XGIMI) are currently conforming to the REC 2020 color gamut which will be the range for 8K sources. And they also process new cinema video technologies like Dolby Vision. Hopefully you are satisfied enough with the results you are getting from your Sony projector that this wont be a concerning issue for yourself. But I gotta speak my truth, It bugs the hell out of me, Resulting in my purchasing paralysis!! Thanks so much for your exploring these differences. But you causing problems for my wallet, buddy!!!
    Thanks again Brother A!!✊🏾✊🏾

Hello, I know you said you don’t own a blu ray player, but 4k blu rays have a really high bitrate that would be appreciated on a projector like this.
I would recommended you find some video files on the level of 4k blu ray and play those on the projector. You’ll notice how clean the image is.

BTW: I take 20,000 hours of laser lamp life with a grain of salt. For example, Sony said for my 2017/18 - 285es that the bulb was rated to 6000 hours. Truth!: I just swapped it out at 2700 hours or over 6 years of use. Agreed, that is impressive and twice the lamp life of my previous Panasonic 2080 / 1080p projector.
Don’t get me wrong: Sony makes excellent projectors but there are details like intermittent/excessive fan-noise that I hope Sony will fix in the next generation of its laser projectors. I’m waiting to see if that happens and if JVC decides to replace its budget bulb projector with a laser at Fall 2024 CEDIA. If so, I will have a hard decision to make if both of them make worthwhile improvements. Meanwhile, I continue to be patient!

    Very nicely explained.
btw if you want to do this projector justice you have to get a really good sound system.
I would suggest you get the Sony AZ5000ES with Klipch Reference Premier II speakers and subs. Or the Focal Theva speakers. You can later pair these with a separate multichannel speaker amplifier like from Rotel, to really bring out the power to the next level. Do some accoustic treatement here and there in your room and then you will trully have the cinema experience.

congrats and welcome to the Sony family. I finally made my jump from full hd projector to this Sony 4K a few weeks ago and I'll never look back. I also considered the Sony amp, but settled for a Denon X2800 with Dali Oberon 5 Floorstanders at the front and Onwalls at the back. They are shooting the Olympics in native 4K this year so that's going to be incredible for sport. My next purchase will be a 4K Bluray player though as while I am the same as you with the streaming apps, I saw a demo of Oppenheimer and I felt like I was back seeing it at Imax again. I just can't get over the detail (and sound of course). Also tested out some House of Dragon, Breaking Bad and a few other 4K stables. Film, Live Sport, TV Shows it just handles everything so well.

Great review! I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this projector. And I really want this particular projector. However, in my case, it's too big. It will not fit into my custom projector box I designed/built for my Sony VPL-VW60 1080p projector. This box was designed with fans that automatically power-up when the projector is turned on. The fans pump cool filtered air into the box from the back - and the warmer air that is produced by the projector is vented out the front. It's a very elegant design that I'd really like to re-use for my next projector. The VPL-VW60 is no small projector either - but it looks like a toddler compared to the ginormous size of the VPL-XW5000ES. My projector box serves 4 important functions: It mounts the projector, it cools the projector, it reduces the running noise of the projector, and it keeps dust out of the projector. I really don't want to tear this box out - as it was a huge project to get it installed and tweaked just right. So a question for you - and maybe you could ask your Sony-man about this: Will Sony produce a 4K projector that has a smaller form-factor anytime soon? Thank you, and please carry on with your fine reviews!

@@trendyprojectors4743 Update: I did end up un-installing my projector box. And I selected the JVC DLA-NP5 native 4K projector as the replacement. No new hush-box, but I run the new JVC in low-lamp mode, so it's pretty quiet. A ton of work to take down the old projector box, and repair all the holes in the ceiling - but it was worth it. I love my new projector.

I had before the Viewsonic PX 701-4K hdr lamp base projector , image was ok but I need something that I can watch with some ambient light so I upgrade to the laser projector Dangbei Mars Pro 4k , is a pixel shift projector also but the image ,contrast colors and brightness are outstanding ,with my 135 inches white 1.2 gain screen look just amazing , my point is there is a market on this hobby for every budget , and thanks to your channel you help us to make the right decision according to the review you put in your videos

@NewStuffTV1, Thank you for the detailed review of this projector. One question: Between this Sony - VPLXW5000ES projector and the Hisense L9H Laser TV, which one do you recommend? Primarily for movie watching!! Thank you in advance!!

    • @NewStuffTV1
      @NewStuffTV1  8 місяців тому +1

Thanks for watching! This is a tough question because the setups are waaay different from each other. The Sony is the superior projector for movies, but the L9H is considered a smart laser TV which can be used for anything.
As far as the setup, if you want something simple to set up, the L9H wins. However, you may need to get a low-profile tv stand.
If you want to be "at the movies" when you watch... Get the Sony.

    Hi Bro!
The Sony, it is a very good Projector, I give him a 4,5 from 5,0, same as the EPSON LS12000B, or JVC 5
The better Ansi Contrast on the Epson & JVC
HDR is on JVC a best.
But, with a Master Contrast Tuning from Avitect the Epson has the same native Contrast from 7100:1 as the Sony, and the same deep Black, like the Sony.
Sony hasn't got a mechanical optic, so on my 21:9 it won't work. Ok.. IMAX.. I don't regret it, I m not a Marvel Avengers Fan.
    JVC has a Lamp.
The Best Black on the JVC
The best sharpness on the Sony
The brighter one is the EPSON, and it has the better Ansi Contrast.
All together for me the Epson is the best.
    Thanks to EPSON :D
The best of the EPSON has the flexibility of positioning and a storable lens.

You neglected to mention that you only get 2000 lumens at - full power. Do that and you won’t get 20,000 hours out if it. Instead, it is recommended you start at 75% power otherwise 1500 lumens and then maintain that by increasing power in 5% increments over time. A major complaint about the x5000 and x6000 is “fan noise”. Various other reviewers have found that at full power the db level can be over 60-70 db. (Hatoraid Cowboy for example). Trouble is it is not consistent from unit to unit. If you get one, Sony won’t fix it! (Vlogger Chris Pieser, for example.)

@@kman9387 You are talking about lumen output? If so, that is instructive. However, what is the decibel level when the projector is in high mode / putting out its full lumen power?
Hatoraid Cowboy,in his review, measured at up to 70db. Similarly, vlogger Chris Pieser with his x6000 got the same kind of result. A local end-user near me also had the same issue. Sony offered no support (at that time). Having said this, these were fairly early models off the line. Meanwhile, other vlogger owners are not having any issues, such as yourself? I just corresponded with another vlogger who just installed an x5000 and is not having any issues with fan noise

I tried the Epson ls1200 and JVC NZ7 and the Sony took the win with picture quality. The Epson was a very close 2nd and would have taken the top spot if not for th non native 4k panels.
