Some tracks were great, but honestly expected better from this album as a whole. I thought a lot of the tracks were kinda lackluster compared to Jesse's past works. Sure, the ideas were great, but they failed to carry the same amount of energy as Jesse's past works. Favorite track: Griztronics II
Didn't see many comments about it nor did I comment (because I was flabbergasted by the last live reaction lmao) but LOVING the new layout! Looks super unique!
Onyx really ain’t that bad guys, re-listen. Decimate I such a good opener, cough drop goes hard especially the second drop. Temporary blues had a really good vibe, reminds me of zeds dead, Run this is HYPE, Osiris with the excision / Trap. Really good album if you hear it again 😎 but so is this one. O.P.U.S is wayyy better then he gives it credit for. Drew me in from the start.
Freaking Cabin Fever is sooooooooo good. The fakeouts were really cool. May not have that much experimentation in it but STILL this is the best one in my opinion
One of the best albums we've gotten in the past couple of years, easy. I don't think I will be offending anyone by saying Fractals absolutely destroys Onyx.
This album was pretty fresh, as a debut album, it's pretty amazing but it's not completely the best like chart-topping but it still does good for me. But if you're gonna compare Fractals to other dubstep albums, there are many which are better than this, some are debatable, but for me some my favourite dubstep album is still from X, like X Rated, Destroid, Codename X, Virus and many other artists. But for now, it's a refreshing album from Onyx, which one-third was okay and other two-third was just unlistenable.
Despite starting off a bit slow imo with some of the weaker tracks (Open Your Mind REALLY kicks the album off), this is a great album. Brutal yet filled with loads of personality, and plenty of welcome experimentation on show. Doubt it'll be my favourite of the year, but so far it's up there.
That's strange. I love the first three tracks (especially O.P.U.S.-Jesus Christ, the production is absolutely badonkers), yet I always skip Open Your Mind. I don't know, maybe it just isn't for me, but the I will definitely argue the first three tracks absolutely smacks
