I don't care what anyone says, Michael was one of the most fine men ever in the 80s. Totally original, and in the late 80s he seemed to come into his own and feel better about his appearance. I truly think some Doctors intentionally botched him in the end, because he seemed to have restorative work done afterwards. A lot of people messed with him and I hope this movie goes some way in legacy restoration, because those MF's all literally got away with murder.
In 1984, at the height of his success, he was filming a Pepsi Commercial where he suffered 3rd degree burns to his scalp that almost reached his skull and killed him. He was able to spin his way to surviving that but it led to his Vitiligo spreading and a discovery of Discoid Lupus on his scalp. From that incident, he had to have multiple surgeries on his scalp, suffered migraine, had to wear HEAVY makeup as his Vitiligo got worse and had to carry an umbrella to avoid skin cancer. All during this time, he continued to perform while people bullied him and made fun of him. Discoid lesions were also an issue.
Ever since I seen the way he sings and moves. I knew that Jaafar was going to go places. But no one could ever predict that this is one way for him to do it. That is major and I am proud that Jaafar is the one to do this. There is no one better to do it than this guy. However, my only critique is how is his acting? That remains to be seen. If the actor who played Michael in Jacksons: American Dream (who I believe was new to acting in his time) is anything to go by, I am sure Jaafar is gonna knock it out of the park.
Why not split this into two movies? The first would end with the triumphant VICTORY album and tour, while the sequel would pick up with the infamous fire incident while Jackson was filming a Pepsi commercial, on through the making of MISS CASTAWAY & THE ISLAND GIRLS (arguably his best film), before finally ending with the fallout following the release of the much-acclaimed LEAVING NEVERLAND documentary. There's certainly enough there for two movies...

Awesome. I will go see it! Just saw the MJ Experience in Vegas! If you haven't seen it, it's a flawless, great dancers, music and there is an unexpected surprise. Brought tears of sadness and joy!😊💞
Have you seen the tv series URBAN MYTHS? That show was a masterclass in acting, with Stockard Channing portraying Elizabeth Taylor, Brian Cox (Marlon Brando), and, best of all, Joseph Fiennes, absolutely brilliant as Michael Jackson. He may be too old now to star in the upcoming bio-pic, but I can't see anyone besting his amazing performance. Check it out if you can.
Really for those who don't know Jaafar go and listen to him sing, I promise you will be amazed at the resemblance with Michael's voice, he is not very high pitched but there is clearly a resemblance.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this movie. There's just SO much to cover regarding Michael Jackson, that I just don't see how it could be done in a 2 hour movie.

Thank you for showing the real journalism in reporting this, yes Jaafar Jackson is the best person to represent his beloved uncle Michael Jackson the king of pop, Jaafar 's voice, singing style, , song writing so similar to Michael, his looks so close to his uncle especially during Thriller and bad era,he can dance act too by the look of his music videos, with time and dedication he can become a great actor too, I wish him all the best ,love and blessings ❤️🙏👑🤟🦋🌻
he would sounds like him and looks like him, but he's not an actor, he never played a role in his life, and his first one would be Michael. I'm so scared about this, Elvis was played by an experienced actor who studied the character for months, as Freddie Mercury's. this character is way more complex than these two. I hope it will not come outt a disaster...

The producers don't seem to be trying to portray MJ's inner life, his conflicts, and how he overcomes them. MJ's smile makes people smile. no one can play him. I prefer documentaries.
This is the second time I've seen this exact comment from you, which has only intensified my “curiosity,” I guess you could say, lol. By “curiosity,” I mean what has led you to think or believe that the producers “don’t seem to be trying to portray MJ’s inner life, his conflicts, and how he overcame them,” precisely, especially when there have been public statements made by those behind the film saying how they are very much going to cover the things you described?
Let's hope they do justice to this film and show the REAL Michael. On another note, I think the name of the movie should be "King of Pop" or "The Gloved One."
The fact that his nephew is playing him almost guarantees that the movie will not touch on one of the most defining facts of Michael’s life: his attraction to young boys. No matter how many times his fans try to remove him from this fact, it will forever be linked to his legacy. That’s not being negative and that’s not hating on Michael Jackson, that’s just a historical fact.
Here we go! And it ain’t even the family. lol. At this point, it’s pretty much guarantee that this is going to be a revisionist history whose only goal is to try to remove any blemish from Michael Jackson past. I’m a very big fan of Michael Jackson’s. But we have to tell the whole story, the triumphs and the tragedies. king David was another historical figure who is revered today by billions. But his story tells the tragedies and the triumphs.
and about that trial, that was just one. And of course he won that case, you know how much money Michael Jackson poured into that? But there’s also the case where he settled for with the family. And we have him on video saying that he loves to sleep with children. The documentary just needs to tell the triumphs and the tragedies. And who knows maybe the family will do that. Maybe they won’t try to rewrite history to make Michael Jackson look innocent.
I am very sceptical of this. Michael didn't have a good relationship with his family and distanced himself from them. He was very lonely for all his life and felt that they only contacted him, if they needed money. The family on the other hand thinks other people manipulated him in distancing from his family and that family is the most important thing etc. As someone who grew up in a dysfunctional family as well, I think it is very unlikely that his family members knew him at all. You would think that family are exactly the people that know him best, but in dysfunctional families that is not true.
Michael jackson will be proud of his nephew to play him as mj. This movie will be big and how much u want to bet they are going 3 movies like this this in my mind or 4 in mind KISS,Madonna,Phil Collins, Bob Marley. I hope they will cover the 1984 Pepsi burns that seem to go unnoticed as it relates to MJ's appearance. They act like that era was a joke and not something that IMPACTED him for years to come. 1. Dr. Metzger said it led to his vitiligo spreading. 2. He was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus on his scalp 3. He wore heavy makeup to hide the Vitiligo cover his entire body and spreading rapidly 4. He had migraine and became addicted to pain killers 5. He had several rhinoplasty and skin graph surgeries on his scalp that the public were not aware of 6. As it got worse, he had to avoid the sunlight as it could cause skin cancer so he carried an umbrellas for that 7. He wore wigs and weaves to hide his ball spot 8. All during this time he was bullied

Can't wait, I'm so excited and kinda nervous 🤯♥
Can't wait for this biopic. Wow!!!!!!!
Awesome. I will go see it! Just saw the MJ Experience in Vegas! If you haven't seen it, it's a flawless, great dancers, music and there is an unexpected surprise. Brought tears of sadness and joy!😊💞
Finally someone who can do him justice
Absolutely 👍
How many do not live in this world, but life will always find, How to surprise.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this movie. There's just SO much to cover regarding Michael Jackson, that I just don't see how it could be done in a 2 hour movie.
Exactly, more like a 3.5-4 hour movie.
I think it was the right choice that Jaafar will play his uncle
Thank you for showing the real journalism in reporting this, yes Jaafar Jackson is the best person to represent his beloved uncle Michael Jackson the king of pop, Jaafar 's voice, singing style, , song writing so similar to Michael, his looks so close to his uncle especially during Thriller and bad era,he can dance act too by the look of his music videos, with time and dedication he can become a great actor too, I wish him all the best ,love and blessings ❤️🙏👑🤟🦋🌻
I CANT WAIT
Bravo this is a wunderful ❤👍♥️🙏
can't wait for the upcoming biopic
Yay, Jaafar - CONGRATS‼️
he would sounds like him and looks like him, but he's not an actor, he never played a role in his life, and his first one would be Michael. I'm so scared about this, Elvis was played by an experienced actor who studied the character for months, as Freddie Mercury's. this character is way more complex than these two. I hope it will not come outt a disaster...
It's very brave of this young man to undertake a movie with such a dark and disturbing story. It's hard to comprehend what's left to reveal after the 2019 movie but we'll see...
You mean that one sided mockumentary with two proven liars
the proven false cash grap doco?
@@rosa_stars349 No, the one that took home an Emmy for Best Documentary -- Non-fiction, that got people talking about a very sensitive issue. Few films have made such an immediate and lasting impact.
@@lpquagmire3621 Obviously the media will award the fake lies? you expect the same media that tarnished Mchael his entire life to be on side? The FBI and Court documents will prove his innocence but people will direct a documentary filled with people who then claimed they lied, as "proof". If your argument is that because a documentary won an award, from his enemies, it's full of truth, then your brain cells are as equivalent to dust mites.
@@rosa_stars349 I'm not going to engage in personal attacks -- I just hope the new film gives us some insight into the making of Jackson's last starring vehicle, MISS CASTAWAY AND THE ISLAND GIRLS.

Michael Jackson goat
Agreed; the 2019 documentary covered all this already.
Let's hope they do justice to this film and show the REAL Michael. On another note, I think the name of the movie should be "King of Pop" or "The Gloved One."
I think it would be called Billie Jean. Like how the Freddie movie was called bohemian rhapsody
@@AidenHilton981 thriller would be perfect imo

They need to let B Howard play the second role of michael jackson
Yup
Su sobrino es lindooo
If they get it right like Austin as Elvis and Rami as Freddy it could be great but if not it could also be awful...
It can't be more greater and promising, the director of the movie is a great MJ fan, and Jaafar looks and sounds like MJ, it will be a great film.

The Jackson so deep they got a “community”🤦🏾♂️😂😂🙏🏾
Love it! Fuqua will do a great job 👍🏻
Those are false allegations and it was proven in court
Hit the nail on the head sweet
I am very sceptical of this. Michael didn't have a good relationship with his family and distanced himself from them. He was very lonely for all his life and felt that they only contacted him, if they needed money. The family on the other hand thinks other people manipulated him in distancing from his family and that family is the most important thing etc. As someone who grew up in a dysfunctional family as well, I think it is very unlikely that his family members knew him at all. You would think that family are exactly the people that know him best, but in dysfunctional families that is not true.
I think this will be a amazing performance from Michael nephew got MJ Gene's in him the family worked with him close acting coaches probably amazing
Thank goodness,
they’re keeping it in the family!
Michael jackson will be proud of his nephew to play him as mj. This movie will be big and how much u want to bet they are going 3 movies like this this in my mind or 4 in mind KISS,Madonna,Phil Collins, Bob Marley. I bet they make movies like that if they do make movies like that I'm going to see them.
Why can’t they just leave Mike alone he suffered enough. Why would his family even do the movie that’s just stupid.
Great, good luck man, I know that is like trusting Akio Otsuka to do the characters of Chikao Otsuka

"The Jacksons - An American Dream" can NOT be surpassed with soulless digital 21st Hollyweird! Late 80s/Earl 90s Vibe was epitome perfection! So Michael's biopic up to 1984 it will be much asame IN BEST CASE! In worst case his best years will be handled within 5-10 minutes. While Jason Weaver/Wylie having looked more like a Jackson Sibling than islamistic nephew Jaaaaaaafar!
And past Victory... well... they have to cover all the rather negative shit Michael had to deal with since BAD! Hounding hysteric media, plastic surgery progress, ridiculous marriages as there was no Plan B passion to Diana Ross, those lying brats..... and if they truly touch on the Kike-Conspiracy behind/causing all the shit in very same Entertainment Bizz I simply can not fathom!
I lived in real life alongside the daily crap. NO-ONE can tell me different in retrospect. I understand HIM and I understand how and why he got literally cruxified!
Those 100 grandkids ain't done shit! 3T I acknowledge only! Esp about Jermaine's 4th wife incl the islamistic overpopulation brood I can do well without!
Stupid fans are excited for literally everything without common sense. I very well remember the weeks ahead of the Bashir Interview when I already wasn't giving much damn anymore due to prior years declining art and not concentrating on music anymore. Having those Klein/Rowe-brats on his ass. Heck Fans were even excited about the announced Wade Robson Documentary. Fans are like greedy cancer only demanding stuff. No matter if it's ongoing ruining prior epitome legacy! 90 or 130 minutes can not cover much. Randy Taraborelli's book in 1992 was the fairest deal "to get" Michael Jackson. The movie "The Jacksons" the candy on top! Plus Superbowl, Oprah, being more loose, comfortable and approachable... until he got ultimately Jewed!
I hope they will cover the 1984 Pepsi burns that seem to go unnoticed as it relates to MJ's appearance. They act like that era was a joke and not something that IMPACTED him for years to come.
1. Dr. Metzger said it led to his vitiligo spreading.
2. He was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus on his scalp
3. He wore heavy makeup to hide the Vitiligo cover his entire body and spreading rapidly
4. He had migraine and became addicted to pain killers
5. He had several rhinoplasty and skin graph surgeries on his scalp that the public were not aware of
6. As it got worse, he had to avoid the sunlight as it could cause skin cancer so he carried an umbrellas for that
7. He wore wigs and weaves to hide his ball spot

The conspiracy behind his modern day cruxification is way more relevant than his 'minor' not life-threatening diseases. Conspiracy and permanent betrayal brought him to his early grave. His organs/physically rather fit for a 50 yrs old man (despite being so skinny in his last few months ) stated even the Coroner Report.
