Never has an actor worked as hard as he did for this part. 2 years, nonstop Elvis in his life and nothing else. He had the essence, as much as any man ever could of this complicated, unique Elvis Presley. My only thing that bothers me is WHY couldn't the hair person get the sideburns right in the '68 Special? They are SO off, that it takes away from those scenes in the movie. Really bad. Otherwise, though this was not a movie about Elvis' life, but rather from Parker's point of view, after seeing it 4 times I loved it, but am crushed Austin did not get that Oscar he deserved! Austin got the stage moves exactly like Elvis , looks a bit like him the best actor for the Elvis movie should have won the Oscar, but for who was in charge of the writing the story they shouldn’t get a yodel for being lost in the alps , Elvis wasn’t depressed like they wrote, his father wasn’t a wimp , lots of things wrong on that , I watched a lot of interviews of people who knew Elvis , especially his relatives like Billy and Danny smith , he was not like the writers portrayed him at all , I’m a fan from when I grew up in the sixties, Austin did a great job though , hats off to him .fr Canada 🇨🇦

When I first saw it, I wasn't a fan of it cuz to me it seemed like Baz took Moulin Rouge and copied and paste it on to Elvis and also I thought it was gonna be a biopic and I saw so many in accurate things or in the wrong time frame e.g. Elvis appeared on Steve Allen show July 1 1956 and bought Graceland March 19 1957. But then I gave it another chance, I then learned it's a tribute to Elvis not a biopic which I later learned Baz never intended on making a biopic. And it was more about the colonel and told through his eyes, so with all that in mind I enjoyed it a little more. But it did get people to learn about him and that I'm happy about.

Got to stop you there. Austin worked for 2 years nonstop on learning everything he could about Elvis. I have never seen another actor work so hard on a movie part. I cannot stand impersonators. He was stunningly charismatic, with a presence that I've seen hundreds describe, that I was lucky enough to witness. He was one of a kind who brought joy to millions of people because he was talented and loved his fans so much. I saw the movie 4 times. It took the second to see more and the third to see more. I want to see it again. It moves fast and you have to keep up. Elvis is loved in 4 generations of my family. My mother had only Elvis gospel at her funeral. Elvis was extremely special in more ways than I can ever put here. We're still talking abut this man 47 years after he's gone. He was magical.
