They're freakin brilliant and always have been. Everyone needs to see the 2006 documentary "Shut Up And Sing" and remember the same country we have now abandoned them and threw away their CDs, and worse, threatened to kill them THEN, for being on the right side of history.

Ummmmm they were originally called the dixie chickens when they started in the late 80s. They then went to chicks because you know they are women. They lived near the Mason-dixion line which was a line that separated states, however, was considered a defining line between the states that wanted to keep their slaves as property and those states that didnt. They understood how hurtful that idea could be for some people and didnt want to be the reason to cause people grief, they've been trying to rebrand themselves for years using slightly different variations. But yes let's judge them for considering others feelings, those monsters.

Historically in America they did exactly what Joplin, Dylan, Mitchell, CSN and many others did and the Height-Ashbury festival was a testament to that protest. These ladies also spoke out against what they believed to be wrong and got persecuted for it. But they're still here and they sound in my opinion, better than ever. It's called determination, integrity and plain old courage. I can feel nothing but admiration because it would not have been easy.

Really enjoyed seeing the talent as they played their instruments. This is one of the most impactful protest songs ever and even though it was released during the turmoil of 2020 they wrote it long before. The official video with the long list of #names floors me every time.

Just want to say Congratulations to these Ladies. You Came back with not 1 but 2 Very Powerfully Amazing Songs.
We were at their MMXVl tour stop in Moline, Illinois. They did most of their standards, wish this album would’ve been part of the program. Even though many of their country fans may have deserted them they picked up a huge new following of Progressives. I think that was a definite step up. Their C&W music is fun to listen to but I like their newer edgier sound. Takes me back to when some artists just layed it all on the line. We hope to see them again along with Mary Chapin Carpenter, another progressive artist we were privileged to see in July 2018 under a BigTop tent in N. Wisconsin. Keep that great music coming, going to buy The Chicks new on vinyl. Way better than digital or CDs. Bless you three and stay safe and healthy.
