Love Love Love Hands Across the Sea Samplers. I have done 1 by her and got a few that still needs to be kitted up to be done. I also ordered the Rose Quaker by Stickideen von der Weihenburg got the fabric and threads. I would love to stitch Ms Lucy! Thanks for stopping by for another visit please come again soon!
Normally I wait until the weekend to watch, but I couldn’t wait this time!! I absolutely love samplers!! Great first sampler video and I am going to start Snooty Parrots for my birthday month, so I will be starting on October 1st, hope you will join us!! My favorite sampler designer is HATS, but I love Rosewood Manor and the Scarlett House as well. Happy stitching 🧵 my friend, hugs Debbie
Hi Twin! Yes!! I will absolutely be joining for your birthday SAL. Count me in 😍 This video was fun and just an intro, I’m excited to do another. Lol. I have so many Samplers. Hope to see you on Zoom later today
I haven't attempted any samplers yet. I have one kitted up. It was a freebie called "Betty Glover 1837" Google it. It's hanging in the MET museum. I'll start it soon. But I think my favorite designer may be "Long Dog." I downloaded the free Pandemic sampler and may try that one soon.. Thanks!
Great video Stacy, I look forward to seeing the rest of your collection☺. I am starting to 'get into' sampler stitching myself and it is fun to explore the different ones from all sorts of places. I just ordered a Reflet de Soie chart from France and am eagerly waiting for it to show up! Have fun stitching and we will see you next time!
My mother collects samplers but ironically I never paid attention to them until I started watching Flosstube. Now I want them on my walls. I am currently stitching Maria Finney from Teresa Venette. I joined SG Country Samplers Girls Club to get 4 kits a year, they are fabulous. I purchased several from many designers and am slowly kitting them up. I work on them every night and love every minute. Thanks for the video.
Hi! I love Blackbird Designs and the quaker samplers. My wips are Christmas Garden and Merrily We Welcome Spring. That halloween one is amazing. Primitive stitching is all so pretty. You did a great job with this video. You mentioned the best flosstubers in the business. Happy stitching! 🇺🇸🥰💃
Fun that you are getting into samplers. They are my favorite thing to stitch. I have Snooty Parrot started as well as Dutch Beauty. Look forward to seeing more of your sampler stitching.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful samplers. Like you, when I came back to stitching, I wasn’t interested in the samplers. Now, that’s almost all I want to do. I only have one started and that’s a Blackbird design. I would love the opportunity to stitch the design you shared. Thank you for taking the time to share your stitching! Lynette 💕
Thank you for your informative flosstube! I love so many sampler designers - Rosewood Manor, Scarlet Letter, Samplers Remembered, Needle's Prayse - the list is endless!
Hands Across the Sea, Long Dog Samplers and so many that you mentioned. I love all the different styles. Thanks for the neat pod. I enjoyed it very much. Long dog gave away a pandemic sampler, I think I will do that next.
I am working on Christmas Quaker 2, with all my favorite songs. So easy, so joyful. But I use DMC 4045-4507 multicolored floss. Original colors are little bit boring for me.
I like to collect Hands Across The Sea Sampler charts but recently I find myself drawn to the Quaker Samplers. Thank you so much for sharing all of your charts and WIPs and finishes. I love it all.
What excellent timing your Flosstube has been. I purchased the pattern and kitted up my first sampler today as a gift to myself for my birthday. I’ve chosen a Hands Across The Sea Little Gem (start small) and the design is Sarah Spencer 1870. I am just busting to start it. Thankyou for sharing some of your collection of patterns. I look forward to seeing more.
What a FUN video! Can't wait for the next Sampler special. My first sampler is Modern Folk Embroidery 2020 Family Patchwork Sampler. I'm also doing Long Dog Sampler's Pandemic and Pavane of These Times. Each are different color schemes and fabric counts. I'm LOVING them!
Long Dog Samplers and Rosewood Manor. I am currently working on 3 Long Dog patterns and 2 Rosewood manor patterns. I really wish I had more time to stitch with all of the things I have. I hope you have a great week Stacy. I love watching your videos. I cant wait to see your next sampler video.
I love samplers as well and have done over 35. My favorite is the Loara Standish Sampler from the Plymouth Museum. Loara was the daughter of Mikes Standish who came over on the Mayflower. It was done over three on silk and was reversible. The chart was graphed by Joanne Harvey. I was fortunate to go to Plymouth, Mass and learn the reverse stitching technique from Joanne Harvey. I have just gotten back into stitching again after a lone venture into quilting. I hope you enjoy your time stitching the works of the past and marvel at the work created by young girls. I really enjoyed your video and look forward to seeing more samplers because I do not have a store any where near me. I quickly wrote name and designers of the ones that interested me. Now to find them! Thank you
Hi. What a delight. You showed a few samplers I had never seen before. I love The Scarlet House, Gigi R, Shakespeare's Peddler, Modern Folk Embroidery, etc etc etc I am also stitching Dutch Beauty at the moment. About one third done. Loving every second of it. Thank you for your flosstube. My thoughts have been with you and your family so much lately. I would love to stitch Lucy. She is a beauty.
You have very lovely samplers shown. Thanks so much. I always thought that I do not have enough linen ... now I know I also need more beautiful charts. I love the samplers from hands across the sea, they are so lovely. And I also love all kind of Quaker sampler.
I love samplers, especially samplers with birds. Hands Across the Sea would have to be my favourite. I love how Nicola searches for information about the little girls and the history behind each sampler. I'm currently working on Harriet Salt 1866 Bristol Sampler. You have a wonderful selection and I'm looking forward to seeing your WIP's.
Your collection of samplers is amazing..thanks for showing all the eye candy...I would love to stitch Lucy. And right now am thinking my next sampler will be my rosewood manor music among the trees. Love anything rosewood manor
I’m working on my very first sampler. I joined the HATS Jane Fiddes SAL. I’ve been stitching since 1983! I agree so many changes!!! I love the history behind the samplers. Love your videos! LUCY C. is on my wish list. I love Hands Across the Sea, Scarlett House, Gigi R...
Thank you so much for doing these videos, Stacy. I’m so grateful that you take the time. I am so interested in starting a sampler. Been wanting to tackle one for some time. I love all the designers you mentioned and I look forward to more of your videos. 😘🌷🌺💕
Hi there! I have been a HAED fanatic for years but just recently discovered samplers and quakers. Omg! They are sooo beautiful! Rosewood Manor's and Heartspring has caught my eye, but after being introduced by you to Hands Across the Sea I'm in total awe. I need to be stitching one of their samplers. Omg! 😍 Just Stitching Along is beautiful and I would love to stitch it. Thank you for a wonderful, interesting and enabling FlossTube! //cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
Great video! I have loved samplers for a very long time. There's not enough hours in the day to stitch all that I want to stitch. I have stitched two of My Big Toe Quaker Endurance Sampler, one for each of my pastors. Lookiong forward to seeing your next video with more samplers. Enjoy!
So glad I found your channel. All of a sudden, at the young age of 80, I decided to want to learn how to do samplers and learn the history. I love doing patriotic cross stitching and I believe the samplers will fit in. I am so tired of Christmas right now and bowl fillers etc. I hate trying to figure out how to finish these little things. I am definitely going to check out your recommendations for floss tubers.
Thanks so much Stacey for this video! I love the French samplers. I didn’t know about them. The Copenhagen sampler is intricate, and I’m captured by its beauty. I took notes. Looking forward to more sampler. I’m a fan of Queen Victoria, I’ll take a look at the web site.Enjoy your stitching time!!
I have never stitched a sampler but would love to start one, and Lucy is beautiful. Your flosstube was very informative and sparked my interest, cant wait for your next flosstube. thank you.
I am stitching 'Christmas Garden' by BBD....each motif is like a finish..I am used called for along with DMC equivalent...using both adds interest & depth as the project calls for only 4 colours of thread...would enjoy stitching Miss Lucy....thanks for sharing your love of samplers!
Wow! So interesting! My story is very similar to yours. Came back to cross stitch after 25 years and was blown away by the changes! Linen, silk, and the designs are amazing! My first sampler that I loved was The Biedermeier Sampler by Needlework Press. Now I am also smitten with samplers. Would love to be entered for Lucy Calcutt! Looking forward to your next Sampler video!
Thank you for the sampler show. About the only samplers that I have stitched have been by Shepherd's Bush so I would have to say that they are my favorite. There are so many new samplers out there now that are really beautiful and look fun to stitch that I would like to go in that direction with my stitching.
Samplers are my jam. I'm jumping fully into the deep end, I'm kitting up Ann Tong Uffindell and Sarah Braizear right now. You might be able to tell that Nicola with HATS is my favorite designer.
Such a delightful video. I, too, am relatively new to sampler stitching, and as yet have not completed any. I am currently working on Emily’s House by Lindy Stitches and really enjoying stitching. Hands Across the Sea definitely has some of my favorites. I only want to do pieces that are straight cross stitch, and definitely do not want to do one over one stitching. I would love to give Lucy a try. Take care.
Wow Stacy! I loved this video and your whole idea of showing and teaching about samplers. I melt when I see the Quakers, which are my absolute favorites. But those Reflets de Soie--magnifique!! If I ever learned to stitch well enough on linen, my first Reflets de Soie projects will be Louise Lallier 1901 (for the donkey and the rooster) then G. Leger 1898 (that house and those letters...). Thank you for putting this video together. I will anxiously await your next one!
I was the same, started at 7 and then stopped. Just now started again and couldn’t believe the new items available! I love samplers also and the history!
Thank you, I loved seeing your sampler collection. I have just discovered Reflets de Soie and am loving the French style at the moment. I am also love Hands Across the Sea samplers, kindest regards, Karen R
I have always loved samplers. I do want to buy the Mary 395 soon and get that one started. Thank you so much for doing these videos. So interesting. Have a great weekend!!
Thank you for the video about Samplers...I too, would have passed them by, but I'm starting to see how gorgeous they are! I've really been watching Teresa Kogut, as I love the beautiful designs she has created. I want to start "Pet all the dogs" and "Newcastle Bouquet"...and "Faith, Hope, Peace,Love" oh and "Land that I love". I guess, I really like her style! Love all your projects...so inspiring!!!
I am relatively new to cross stitch. My initial reaction to samplers was I love them but couldn’t see myself ever stitching one. I discovered floss tube during the Covid lockdown thanks to a friend. I am now hooked, and thinking of doing a sampler. There are so many wonderful designers that I haven’t narrowed it down yet. I would love to stitch Lucy Calcutta. Today was the first time that I have seen one of your videos and I really enjoyed it. Thank you. I am now liking and subscribing!
I'm so glad you are doing sampler videos . The more I see them, the more I like them. My newest favorite samplers are Beth Twist's Consider the Lilies and His Eye Is On the Sparrow. I just ordered them and can't wait to start them. I also like Quaker samplers and really enjoyed the samplers from other countries.
Hi Stacey! A wonderful video as always. I just love samplers 💕. I’m enjoying stitching Gigi R’s Red Deer sampler at the moment and have many more of her charts that I would love to stitch. Stay well, Nicky xxx
I recently purchased some Blackbird Design samplers. Wanting to fill my bedroom walls with samplers for each of my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Thank you for all the information you shared. Samplers are a new territory for me.
Hi, I am working on a Quaker Style Sampler that was in a Cross Stitch Antique Style Samplers book. It's the 30th anniversary edition by Jane Greenoff and it's a great book. I got it on Amazon . I bought from 123 Stitch a Canada Sample by Ginger & Spice, it' colorful and it' the history when Canada was first discovered until now, it was charted Design by Ginger Miller. I am Canadian and proud to have this chart. You have beautiful Sampler and Quaker charts. I am looking forward to see your progress. Have a nice stitching time and stay safe.
My two favorite sampler designers are Hands Across the Sea/Nicola Parkman and Lila's Studio. I loved seeing all your samplers! You had better get busy! LOL I was scheduled to attend the May 2020 Sassy Jacks Class with Nicola Parkman, but it was cancelled. I hope one day that I will get to attend one of her classes.
Haven't started it yet, but have A Dog's Declaration. Still need to kit it up. I'm sure I will enjoy stitching it because it reminds me of our dog and his obsession with squirrels. Would love Lucy.
You have some beautiful sampler charts, Stacy! Thanks for taking the time to show them in this video. I haven’t done many samplers (I have 3 butterfly ones from Rosewood Manor), certainly no big ones, but I love G. Leger 1898 by Reflets de Soie. If I were going to attempt a complicated one, that would be the winner! Have a great week!
Hi! The samplers that you showed are beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. I am working on The 1803 Judith Townsend Sampler by HandWork Samplers. It is fun to complete a motif and feel like you have a little finish. Have a wonderful week.
Lucy Calcutt is so beautiful I can see why you bought it twice! 😃 right now I’m loving stitching on the Linen and Threads mystery SAL which is a Quaker style sampler.
I would love to do Lucy!!! I'm a Quaker lover as well. I also love Long Dog Samplers, Cardinal Points, Carolyn Manning, Jeanette Douglas, Blackbird, Marjorie Massey, and so many more. This was a terrific video....I hope you do more. Take good care.
I want to try one of Hands across the sea samplers as Nicola has some beautiful ones. I have Considered the lilies by Heart String Sampler. I need to kit it up. I have a couple of samplers by Kittensticher. I want to do them all so need to retire so I will have more time to spend on this lovely hobby. Also like you I came back to stitching and was amazed at all the new products available. I love that there is so much variety. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the video. Loved the sampler parade! I have not stitched a sampler yet, so I do not have a favorite. I really want to start one. Happy stitching 🧵
I love samplers! I just bought the Hands across the Sea Unfidell Sisters charts from kitten stitcher. Haven’t started yet, still kitting them. Just love all the sampler charts your showed. Looking forward to the next installment of samplers video.
Quaker Samplers are by far my favorites. I have most of the Quakers you showed. Autumn Quaker hangs in my living room & covers my colors as well as my style. For you big chart I still go ahead and make a working copy just tape the pages together. I don't like to write on my charts either but like to track my progress. I'm looking forward to your next video.
I too didn’t think I would like to stitch samplers either. Now love them. Love seeing all,you have. I am almost finished with Ann Roberts 1842 from hands across the sea. I think those are my favorites but hard to choose love so many different ones. I have a couple from Germany that are in museums there and need to get busy. Would love to stitch Lucy. Thanks.
I enjoyed your sampler chart parade! Loved the variety you showed. You always do a great job talking and presenting. Currently, I am finishing up the Margaret Gibson sampler by The Scarlet Letter. My favorite sampler designers are The Scarlet Letter, The Examplarery, The Essamplaire, The Scarlett House and HATS. I would love to stitch Miss Lucy Calcutt’s sampler! Thanks for your great videos!
Excellent video! Looking forward to viewing more samplers. Love Lucy Calcutt! I love all samplers-Shakespeares Peddler, Hands Across the Sea, and The Scarlet Letter to name a few.
I am so glad you are sharing your love of samplers. That is primarily all I want to stitch! HATS is my favorite design company (love the history with each chart), love Rosewood Manor, anything Carol (Saltbox) or Nicole (Needlework) or Reecie (from Australia) stitch. I am about 2/3’s way through Bristol sampler Louisa Coulimore by HATS! Loving stitching it. About 2/3 through the Acworth Quaker sampler Sassy Jack’s published! I would love to stitch Lucy Calcutt - a beautiful sampler!!!
Loved this type of video. Just a great vieuw of all the diverent samplers and quackers. I normaly dont do them but love seeing them. Thank you for sharing. X Jantina
I have just returned to cross stitch after many years and am loving the samplers. I am working on Sarah Spencer from Hands across the Seas and have ordered supplies for Long Dog Samplers, The Templar Prophecy and Pandemic. Love your podcast.
Really enjoyed seeing the samplers and the differences depending on their origin. I, too, love Quaker samplers! Currently I am working on Rosewood Manor’s Autumn Quaker and Rose Quaker Sampler by Wiehenburg. So want to stitch a French Sampler next!
Like you, I didn’t care to stitch samplers when I first began stitching. Recently I’ve come to love them and can’t figure out why I didn’t love them sooner. I love Hands Across the Sea samplers.
I love Samplers and my favorite designer is Brenda Keyes....I have stitched a couple Blackbird Designs...heck....I love them all!! Have a wonderful week.
Thank you so much for showing such great patterns, like you I found my love for samplers growing as I watch so many beautifull ones on flosstube. It's hard to have a favorite, but I recently discovered the ones from Beth Twist were available on pdf (the easiest way for me to get them if I don't want to wait a long time for mail delivery) and I just finishd one by her. I guess stitching the one you are sharing must be a lot of fun, it is beautiful.
I'm working on autumn quakers now and will do all the seasons, I like lilas studio, Hearstring samplery, there are so many good designers and only started liking samplers this past few months, I'm loving them. Thank you for the chance to win this beautiful sampler
I just recently got interested in Samplers maybe a year ago. I’m doing Xmas Garden now I consider it a sampler. I Love the. Lucy Calcutt Sampler. You got A lot of stitching girl! You better stitch non stop ! Fun video The more you see Samplers the more you learn to just love them!Take care. Hope your doing good you look great.
Thanks so much for the informative floss tube on samplers. I am a old stitcher returning back and can't believe the difference in cross stitch. I am j just getting my feet wet and would love to stitch a sampler at some point. I have in my stash The New Constellation that I will probably start when I get up the courage.
I really enjoyed all the samplers. I am currently working on so many samplers but my favourite at the moment is Charlotte Mills 1844 by Fox and Rabbit designs. Happy stitching
I became attracted to samplers just like you did, by accident. I never thought I would be stitching alphabets or houses and then I saw Lori Holt's Quilters Cottage sampler and fell in love! Who knew I would like stitching houses! I have not started a stash yet, but seeing your parade has made me want to start putting items on my Christmas wish list! I loved this video and I hope you do more chats about samplers. It was very informative.
I am just coming back to cross stitching from my knitting passion due to an injury that prevents from knitting. I picked up a hibernating project from years back and as I made a couple of stitches, I realized how much I loved cross stitching. Other than Callcut's designs, I am not familiar with any other and your video has educated and increased my appetite to learn more. I do like the Quaker samplers with the one color designs, however. I will be looking forward to your upcoming videos and go back to the ones I missed.
Hello Stacey, wow what a great video, I love all your videos but this tops the lot. I love samplers. I've just come back to cross stitch after a long break where I did freestyle embroidery. Now cross stitch is another world, Flosstube was a great discovery, I'm learning so much and then there's so much else, it would take me all night to write about it. I love samplers and always have. My favourite designer at this stage is Hands Across the Sea, I want them all, I could go bankrupt here lol. But your video enlightened me of so much more, all the foreign designs and quakers are amazing. I think this is a huge rabbit hole to do down and a pleasurable one at that. Thank you so much. Love Mandy xxx
I always enjoy seeing samplers. They are my thing! One of my favorite samplers I've ever stitched was Jane Pattison by Shakespeare's Peddler. It was so fun. My friend just finished Lucy and it is gorgeous! And large!!
I'm 100% obsessed with Long Dog samplers right now. I'm kitting up Bloo Boo Kay right now and I have Wachet Auf all kitted up already. I also really like Blackbird Design, Plum Street Sampler, and Little House Needlework, but I haven't purchased any as yet. I think that the Lucy Calcutt pattern is gorgeous and it most definitely would find a good home with me!
Going to need the Miss Mary Ann Bournes 1791, beautiful and I love roses. One that I have which you would like is the Nevermore pattern by Lila's Studio. That is what I'm starting next! Great video, I enjoyed seeing all these beauties.
I loved this sampler video and am anxious for your next one. I am new to the sampler world also and recently purchased Love Abide by La-D-Da; I felt like it looked easy enough for me to start down the sampler path and the wording on it spoke to me! I want to believe that when you stitch samplers you’re a much more “sophisticated” 😁 stitcher! Haven’t started it yet, but after watching your video I’ve decided to get brave and dig in. I would love to stitch Lucy, beautiful chart!
There are two Samplers by Theresa Kogut that just came out at Market I would love to stitch! I also love all the ones that Brenda and Laura showcase! I can’t remember all the names right now, but know several on on my radar! Thanks for showcasing these lovely works of art! Appreciate you!!
Thanks for this first video on samplers. I’m back to stitching after a decade or so break. I’m loving samplers! I’m working on Teresa Kogut’s Newcastle Bouquet right now. I’ll be starting Quaker Christmas II in August (I’m waiting on my Victorian Motto threads).
What a great video! I saw several that should be here in my collection! The Reflet de Soie and the other French designer were really pretty. Plus loved the Quakers and Hands Across the Sea! I’ve stitched several so far. The coffee Quaker is framed in my kitchen and I have several lurking in my WIPs! Thanks for sharing these and enabling us a little more!
I’ve been stitching samplers for nearly 50 Years! Reproductions from Scarlet Letter, Joanne Harvey were my favorites but now, loving red work ones. Getting ready to start Anna Ohlman. I’d love to stitch Miss Lucy Calcutt 1825. Thanks for the opportunity ❤️
I enjoyed watching your video today I love to do samplers mine are bit smaller. I love watching Hands across the sea love her work on reproduction. I would love to stitch Lucy. Have a great evening and happy stitching 😊💖
I just started with samplers this year, maybe because of the pandemic and being at home. So far just Quaker has garnered my attention but I am obsessed. Have to comment on how good you look.
First time finding you. Excellent program and I love samplers. I love Quaker samplers particularly Rosewood Manor, Nicole Parkman, Kathy Barrick and Liz Matthews has a new fall Quaker sampler which is darling.
Thanks for sharing some of your sampler charts. While I don’t want to stitch them all I sure do think they are all gorgeous. Miss Lucy is a fabulous sampler! I have been eyeing Band of Roses 1845 and Karoline Berringer by Summer House Stitchworks.
I am an absolute fan of the samplers from the French Designer Gigi R
Love Love Love Hands Across the Sea Samplers. I have done 1 by her and got a few that still needs to be kitted up to be done. I was on the fence about samplers until I saw Mercedes Ospina 1863 from Queenstown Sampler Designs. Love, love it! Thanks for the chart parade.
Your flosstube was very informative and sparked my interest, cant wait for your next flosstube. thank you.
I have been stitching Just Nan for years. Love the designs.
I am beginning a love of samplers. I watch Nicola often, and I am looking forward to watching the other floss tube people you mentioned.
I love Quakers. GigiR, Modern Folk Embroidery, Linens and Threads are a few of my favorites. Thank you for sharing your stash.
Was not that excited by cross stitch but watching this video I have gained interest. Thank you for sharing.
I just started stitching and I love that sampler! I didn't like them until you really showed them up close now i want to stitch them!
Wonderful. Samplers have always been my favorites. Very informative. Thank you!!
I love Hands Across the Sea samplers, GiGi R, Reflets de Soie. Great video! Enjoyed the overview and can’t wait for more!
I loved that you showed the different styles of samplers. So interesting! I want to do your little Crow one!
Very enjoyable Flosstube. I especially liked the Reflets de Soie charts.
I'm a lot like yourself. I wasn't much into samplers. I really like the one with the pansies. I love watching videos of people's patterns
Great video...can't wait for more! One of my favorite sampler designers is Gigi R.....looking forward to seeing what you have to show us next time!!
What a beautiful collection of samplers. I like Rosewood Manor designs. I would like to stitch them all😀
There are two Samplers by Theresa Kogut that just came out at Market I would love to stitch!
I am working on 1830 sampler. My favorite designers are Barbara Ana, Brenda Keyes, Permin of Copenhagen and Gigi Ries. Great video!!
Rosewood Manor, Quakers & floral motifs. Would love to stitch Lucy. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos about samplers.
Thanks for sharing some of your sampler charts. While I don’t want to stitch them all I sure do think they are all gorgeous. Miss Lucy is a fabulous sampler! I have been eyeing Band of Roses 1845 and Karoline Berringer by Summer House Stitchworks.
I love the crows, how fun, love Nicolas Samplers. So many great choices! Woohoo
