Stacy Jean Farish is a fantastic resource for samplers and cross stitch instruction, she also has a blog, so good, very calm voice, easy to watch and easy to listen to, and excellent teacher. She has been an instructor for years and it’s like a class every floss tube, a win win!
I was fortunate enough to take a class with Eileen Bennett back in the early 1990s in Des Moines Iowa. It was part of the Spirit of Crossstitch Festivals. Her sampler was a white on white band sampler which I still hang in my walls. I’ll definitely be stitching some samplers in September. Trying to fit some fall smalls in the mix too. I’m not entering, but I am so excited about a sampler coming my way. A very generous and trusting FB member is letting me borrow an OOP Brenda Gervais sampler pattern. I’ve looked for it on Ebay but never found it. I believe it’s called Birds of a Feather. I’ll have to stitch it ASAP so I can get her chart back to her. Thanks for taking the time to share your beautiful samplers with us! 💗💗💗
I'd stopped stitching for awhile, but then I saw Long Dog's Pandemic. So, yeah. I have fallen hard fort he stitching again and am loving wandering through all my old supplies and seeing all the new samplers that have come out. Pandemic has all my attention at the moment though.
The Eva rosastand black design is a traditional alpine folk art, mostly fro Switzerland, named "Poya", describing the days when people go to the mountain cabin at spring with their cattle, or going back to the village before winter, with animals and big cheese wheels, cauldrons, little lambs...
My favourite sampler I have stitched is Louisa Coulimore from Hands Across The Sea Samplers. I loved every minute. My favourite not yet stitched sampler is Ann Tong Uffindell also by HATS.
As a relatively new stitcher, I have not done a sampler and would like to stitch one. I think number two is just gorgeous. Each one that you showed was beautiful. It amazes me how young some of the girls were that stitched these. Thank you for sharing your collection.
Hi! Just Discovered you. I started stitching in my teens and taught my son and daughter how to stitch when they were young. Ive been stitching for over thirty years but have always kept it on the down low. Been through the mill being a guy stitcher back in the day. I’ve enjoyed samplers. I started doing some after seeing some very old ones in a tiny museum in Athens Tennessee. I love the idea of doing one that’s been done years earlier. There are TONS of samplers. So I was at a yard sale and seen a very old thank you card from a company in Illinois. The card had a cross stitch diagram on the back of an old house and picked fence and and old car parked out front. I completed it and then thought I’d try looking them up. The company is still active and they informed me that card was from 40 years ago. Not a bog deal. I just thought it was cool🤷🏻♂️😬 Enjoyed this video Ima subscribe. Blessings, Tom
I'd love chart #2, Land That I Love. I'm fairly new to sampler stitching (2017) being most attracted by the history and the fact that most were done by young children. Then again, I love the floss and fabrics, the tactile sensation of stitching something I feel connected to.
I loved seeing all the Brenda Keyes designs. Her colors are beautiful. I just started cross stitching this year after a 30 year hiatus filled with quilting and crochet projects Three samplers on my wish list, include Land that I Love, Christmas Garden and Salute to Abigail(Blackbird) I would love to stitch 2
I have always loved samplers and their history. I try and keep one to stitch going in between a million other things. I did get to take a class from Eileen Bennett and she was a delight, so knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing, my list is growing 1 or 2.
I love stitching samplers and have so many in the works!! One of my favorites that I Stitched years ago is a band sampler by Rosewood Manor called Sixteen Birds. The color palette is so pretty that I kept all of the colors together in a floss box and use it to pull from for patterns that I want to change colors. I love Brenda Keyes samplers and have quite q few of them too. I would select number 2. Thank you so much for doing sampler videos; I love seeing so many options. Hugs and happy stitching..........
Chart 1. My favorite sampler designer right now is Beth Twist Heartstrings Samplery. “His eye is on the sparrow” is one of my WIPS. I’ve always loved samplers, even when I started stitching in the 80’s 😊
Hi Stacy, i took a band sampler class with Eileen Benett and shopped in her store that she opened in Grandville MI The Sewing Bird. Bennett taught me so much. Every stitch has a meaning, like three of something means Father, son, and Holy Spirit. Back then people could not worship God out right, or identify as believers. Women would incorporate the symbols of their faith so that fellow believers would see it and know they were believers Tip of the iceberg. She traveled all over Europe learning the meaning and stitchers stories etc...
Chart number one or two. Both are beautiful. I have stitched The Red House sampler a few years ago and it is one of my favorite pieces. Thank you for your videos
Sampler two. I have only done one sampler. It was one with apples, probably back in the 80's when apple stitching was very popular. Now that I am retired, I would love to decorate a wall in my living room with samplers. Love all the ones you showed in this video!
I have recently started cross stitch after about 30 years away from stitching. I love samplers and would love to stitch 1 and 2. I love looking at the charts also. Hands Across the Sea is one of my favorite designer.
I love chart 1. I stitched my first sampler back in 1989 and it is hanging on my wall. I can't remember its name but it is alphabets and scroll work. Thanks for sharing all the sampler charts. So enjoyed this video. Happy stitching.
This was fantastic.!!!!!!! I'm on the same page with you on all the sampler points you said!! I could sit all day and just look at the patterns and read the history. I started stitching in the 1980's and have always been drawn to samplers...they are timeless. I would love pattern 2. Blessings!!!
I’m currently stitching the Autumn Quaker sampler by Rosewood Manor. I like Jeanette Douglas samplers as well. Thanks for your informative floss tube videos! Emily
I watch Brenda and the Serial Stitcher. Brenda once did a video of her completed and framed samplers, and they covered her walls, top to bottom. Also I love The Saltbox Stitcher. Carol is also very knowledgeable about samplers.. I appreciate your list of books to review. Sampler history is fascinating.
Love the sampler parade. I had not realized how many samplers were out there. I am stitching Anne of Green Gables by Twin Pezk Primitives. They also have many more samplers available. Jean Farish has a flosstube where she shows several that was handed down through her family that she has done a reproduction available. Also she has several teaching videos on a sampler that she is reframing showing her progress. Jan hicks also has Narnia which is beautiful.
Hi Stacy. I am glad to hear you are recovering from your elbow surgery. I started cross stitching 30 years ago and to be honest, I never really understood the appeal of samplers. It wasn't until you showed Ann Thomas 1854 in one of your early videos that I started researching more about them. I now appreciate the historical significance these samplers have and I have three patterns I hope to one day stitch. My favorite so far would be Trooper Arthur Hillyard 1919 from Hands Across the Sea. As a male stitcher and whose parents are Vietnam veterans, it was exciting for me to learn cross stitching was used for some in the military to help with PTSD. I would love to stitch #1 or #2.
Oh my! What a wonderful Sampler floss tube. Samplers are what drew me to cross stitch. I LOVE the histories behind the Samplers. I have several Sampler books and read and re-read them all the time. Their stories never get old. I would love to own a vintage Sampler. I plan on starting A Perfect World but haven't decided on another sampler yet. I would love to stitch Land that I love. I really love Brenda Keyes too. Her Samplers are just stunning! Sweet Humility is just gorgeous! I have Coming to America;Women of the Mayflower and Mayflower Landing by LHN but not sure if I will start them in September. I hope you continue to improve and hope Monkey is doing well. xoxo
Wow you have a nice collection of sampler patterns! I just started back cross stitching after a 10 year hiatus. I’m stitching a Blackbird design from 2010, Pumpkin Farm part of their anniversaries of the heart series. Its like stitching a mini sampler but I plan to work my way up to stitching a larger sampler soon. I really like Land That I Love and A Perfect World. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Stacy! Loved all the samplers - I saw a few I NEED to have! My first sampler I completed was The Little Red Chair Sampler by The Scarlett House. I have so many more I want to stitch. Thanks for the opportunity to stitch either #1 or #2. I love both Shakespeare’s Peddler and Teresa Kogut!
I am interested in stitching #2. My sister and I are stitching the Uffindell sisters. Anne Tong and Isabella. We were also 10 and 11 years old when we started stitching. We embroidered all the pillow cases in the house. We are in our 60’s and still stitching together today. We started the Coming to America samplers together today via face time since we live 5 hours apart. Cherished times.
I just found your channel and absolutely adore you! I love that you do so much research and enable us so extensively. :) I would love pattern 2. I have never stitched a sampler and I've been stitching since 1979. I find this chart stunning and I would be proud to hang it on my wall. It might take a couple of years to stitch it but worth every single X. Love your channel and your wonderful smile. Please keep taunting us with all the goodies you find.
I would love chart #2. Right now I am stitching “A Perfect World”. I decided to stitch on 40 count linen so it is taking longer. My eyes don’t like 40 count. I have several Long Dog Samplers kitted. Thank you for showing all the lovely samplers!
I got out my Gathering Honey Sampler from Cross Stitch and Country Crafts Magazine. Started working on it again and would like to get it finished. I would love to stitch chart 1 or 2. Thanks for sharing all the beautiful Sampler charts with us.
I would love to stitch #2. I have done small samplers in the past. I recently finished my 1 st HATS. Ann Roberts. I loved that one. I did it on 18 ct vintage country mocha and the threads pooped on it. I love watching your videos as feel you are very calming to listen to as I stitch. Hope your recovery is quick Thank you for doing the samplers. Love it.
I would love chart two. I love samplers and I took a class with Eileen Bennett to stitch her Trinity Sampler. Wonderful teacher. I hope you do more videos on samplers, love, love, love them.
I am beginning to stitch samplers for the first time. I am beginning to stitch "Land that I Love". I am excited about it. I would like to stitch #1. Love your videos.
Just getting into samplers. Your video was fantastic. Loved learning more about samplers.I would love number 2. Thank you for starting me on the road to stitching samplers.
I picked up back cross stitching a few months ago after a break of about 20 years, what a change... I'm presently working on my first sampler, Longdog Samplers - Pandemic. There is a few that caught my eye in this video, will have to re-watch to take notes. Great job Stacy!
I would LOVE chart #2! I am a fan of Theresa Kogut and this would be my FIRST sampler to stitch (currently I am a sampler chart collector but I'm ready to take the plunge)! Thanks, Stacy!
I’ve never done samplers but I’m diving in with Traditional Stitches 20th Anniversary collaboration with Hands Across the Sea and stitching Ann Morison that starts in December. Jean Farish Needleworks is a Flosstube channel in North Carolina, new to me, but sounds like she has been teaching needlework for over 30 years. She does beautiful samplers that are her own family reproductions. One of her charts in particular has a series of videos to help you with all the speciality stitches that you get access to when you buy the chart. I am seriously considering purchasing this and probably will have by the time you read this 🤣😂🤣 I would be grateful to receive sampler chart “Land that I Love”
Have really enjoyed your sampler videos. Would not probably have seen or found some of those patterns. I started doing samplers about 30 yrs ago. Have always loved them. Would like 1 or 2 please. Thank you for all the information you give in all your videos. Can’t imagine the work involved. Greatly appreciated.
So many beautiful samplers. I haven't stitched a sampler yet and am looking for my first choice to make. I think chat 2 would be a great one to stitch.
I am stitching my first sampler - Claude Monet sampler which was my birthday start. I have a few samplers book which I can't wait to start. I would love to chart 2!!
Such beautiful samplers. Thank you for sharing them with us. I have two Long Dog Sampler patterns, Jane Marshall and Hug all the dogs by Teresa Kogut. I enjoy the blue colors in samplers too. I am glad you are feeling so good from your last surgery. I am so sorry about Monkey. My sweet Mini Schnauzer, Sascha has cancer too. We are keeping her comfortable and enjoying her as long as she isn’t in pain or suffering. I would love to stitch number 1 one or 2 two. I appreciate your generosity. 💜
Sally Spencer is the first sampler I’ve finished. I have Sarah Braizear 1829, The Red Deer, Anna Thies 1859, Hannah Hinson 1824, and Mary Carter 1712 queued up for Sampler September. Both of the samplers would be a great stash addition. Hope you heal fast!
Exactly a year ago September, I watched Teresa of Kitten Stitcher explain sampler September and that was my first introduction to samplers. I scoured her site but was still newly returned to cross stitch and they seemed beyond me...well one year later I have a stack of samplers kitted up! I will be starting Red Deer Sampler on the first and cant wait! I am working on the Spanish Sampler by Shakespeare peddler and Pandemic by Long Dog. I also want to Start Jane Baxter and like you, Heaven and Nature. I also have the CD of all the issues of Sampler and Antique Needlework Magazine. It is a treasure trove and I have about 5 or 6 ready to go from there as well as a big binder of charts printed out. A great purchase to check out! While watching your sampler video today I was making pasta! I almost took a photo of you on my ipad next to my pasta maker! May each day find you better! Thank you for such joy and positivity! 1 and 2!
Great video love 💕 all your samplers. Enjoyed watching your parade of samplers you have an amazing collection. I would love to stitch 1 or 2 it’s hard to decide. Thank you for sharing your stash with us today. Have a great day and happy stitching 🧵😊❤️
I’m new to cross stitch I just love it. I’ve never cross stitched a Sampler but I’d sure love to give it a try. 1 or 2 would be fun to be my first Sampler.
I am currently stitching a Quaker sampler from Jardín Privé called Eiffel Tower. I’m loving it as I dyed the fabric and picked the fancy floss myself. I am interested in both 1 and 2 and have to say I really enjoy your videos!
I love both 1 and 2. I am currently stitching the Elizabeth Cooper-Jesus Wept sampler which was a free chart from Sassy Jacks Stitchery. It is my first sampler but I have a few more waiting for my stirching skills to improve. I have been cross stitching for only 8 months now and have loved every stitch. I enjoy your flosstube so much. I dont know if we stitch all the things or maybe just buy all the things. Lol. When I see something I like I feel I must purchase it before it slips away. God bless you and I hope your recovery from surgery is swift.
Samplers are so colorful and each one is a learning experience. I am interested in 1 or 2, they are gorgeous! I am currently working on two from the Hands Across the Sea. My favorites are from HATS, Gigi R, Scarlett House, and A Scarlet Letter
Love your sampler show. As I get older I am really enjoying samplers. There are so much history behind them that we need to preserve. I just started my first sampler in February and needless to say it was pushed to the back burner. But I just went thru my wips and pulled it out so I can work on it in September. It’s Frances Pool 1832 by Brenda Gervais. I would love to stitch either 1 or 2.
I just recently gave been drawn to samplers. I've seen a few stitchers that have done Blackbird Designs Christmas Garden and I fell in love. I am waiting for the floss to arrive do I can get started on it. I would like to stitch 1 or 2. Thanks for sharing and happy stitching!
Wow, thank you for sharing your samplers and your knowledge. I've never done a sampler, but I have an idea in my head about doing a sampler based on my family. I'll share if I ever get around to doing it. Glad that you're starting to feel just a little bit better after your surgery. Hugs and Happy Stitching!
I love the Land that I love sampler #2. I started stitching again this year after many years and I have never did a sampler. I do want to start a Mayflower sampler in September and it will be my first.
I really enjoyed this video, seeing and hearing about all of your beautiful sampler charts. I am a fairly new stitcher and when I started I said to my friend that samplers weren’t for me. Well I have quickly changed my mind. I haven’t purchased one yet, as I am trying to decide which one. I would love to stitch #2, Land that I Love!
My first sampler I competed was Mary Stead-a little gem. I am interested in chart 2 please. You did a great video. So nice of you to remove the plastic from the charts before you showed them-Thanks! Have a great week and keep healing!
Stacy Jean Farish is a fantastic resource for samplers and cross stitch instruction, she also has a blog, so good, very calm voice, easy to watch and easy to listen to, and excellent teacher. She has been an instructor for years and it’s like a class every floss tube, a win win!

I’m not a big sampler lover but I love hearing the stories behind the reproductions.
I am seriously considering purchasing this and probably will have by the time you read this 🤣😂🤣
I would be grateful to receive sampler chart “Land that I Love”
Have really enjoyed your sampler videos. Would not probably have seen or found some of those patterns. I started doing samplers about 30 yrs ago. Have always loved them. Would like 1 or 2 please. Thank you for all the information you give in all your videos. Can’t imagine the work involved. Greatly appreciated.
Hello. You are samplers enabler😀😀😀. I like both charts.
Great video. Love all the samplers. Thank you.
I would love to stitch #2 my favorite designer is Brenda Gervais. You have a beautiful collection of charts!
One 1 and... two 2 ! Thx! Gary Parr and Vonna Pfeiffer did a special on sampler styles and history on Fiber Talk a while back.
Love sampler one . My favourite designer is hands across the sea samplers
I love number two ! I'm working on the American sampler. You showed soooooo many beautiful samplers I would love to be able to stitch
I'm just getting into samplers and have kitted up A Quaker Welcome to start next week. Love chart 2.
I love your honor to your profession, law enforcement. sampler #2 is wonderful.
I like to stitch sampler. I am going to do samplers in September. I like 1 and 2.See you next week. 😊💜💜❤
I love the Land that I love sampler #2. I started stitching again this year after many years and I have never did a sampler. I do want to start a Mayflower sampler in September and it will be my first.
I am working on Middlemist Red by Sassafras Samplers and was so excited to see that you have it, too! #1 and #2 are both gorgeous!
I love Samplers especially Hands across the sea samplers. I recently finished Jane Marshall 1857. I would love to be the recipient of Ann Dale
My first sampler I competed was Mary Stead-a little gem. I am interested in chart 2 please. You did a great video. So nice of you to remove the plastic from the charts before you showed them-Thanks! Have a great week and keep healing!
