Thank you, Bridgett, for showing your Samplers and the dyeing tutorial. I’m love to stitch reproduction samplers, and you’ve given me inspiration to make my own Samplers that will represent my family’s lineage. I absolutely ♥️ your channel! (And Kristy, Daisy Kay Primitives, is a favorite of mine.)
I love your samplers - especially your own designs! If you chatted those as patterns, stitchers would snatch them up. Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching and aging process!
I enjoyed this so much. Thank you for sharing. Your samplers are so wonderful. I really loved the primitive style. When you mentioned having the needle in your hand, I feel the same. If I am not stitching and my soul needs some calm and peace, I can feel that needle in my hand and I know I need to get to stitching. Using favorite verses and quotes and song lyrics makes them even more special. I appreciate what you've done. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for sharing "your process" with us, Bridgett! I made lots of schoolgirl samplers ~ till my hands and eyes failed me and then I began buying yours. Of course yours are much more authentic looking.
Another fab video Bridgett! Always such a great inspiration. You know I love your channel and have been looking forward to seeing more of your stitching. Now if we can get you to sell your pattern charts! (wink, wink). Thank you sweet lady for the wonderful shout-out, I appreciate it very much. Hugs, Kristy.
I have been waiting for this video! I love stitching and samplers! I have 33 in my bedroom. I have followed Kristy for a long time! I am so happy to see how you age samplers. I have not ever done that. Thank you so much Bridgett!
Love the samplers and the new frame on your latest! You did not mention if the cardboard and tape you used were acid-free. It is important to mention this as many may not know that new pieces mounted with nonacid free materials can cause damage over time. Also, any old pieces that are matted before the 1970's should be taken apart and re-matted as you described so well, as any tape, cardboard, paper, etc. will definitely not be acid free as they pre-date the acid free process and will damage and eat the material over time. Love that you found an old frame as samplers look best when in a period frame! Thanks for encouraging the ancient arts and for showing others how to rescue the old ones that can never be replaced! They are indeed treasures!
wow This process was amazing! Thank you for doing this video! You are so talented and so is your mom and your family. Love your grand daughter looking on. One day she will look at this video with her grandma and her together and cherish it so.
I was so thrilled to see you were doing this one. I had to save it for a treat . And it certainly was !!! You and your momma have such a God given talent . To just start stitching and create your own design- AWE Struck !!!! Love the addition of Bible verses that are meaningful to you and your family. Your Grandmas samplers are so precious!!! Enjoyed every minute. If you didn’t want to recreate patterns - I would love a booklet with your gorgeous motifs. Antique frames are the crowning touch. I loved the touch of blue on one of your samplers. Great story on your burned stitch. What a cutie granddaughter. That is wonderful you passed your talent to her. I taught my four girls to stitch on aida - no takers but have one grand who liked it . Have a wonderful Labor Day !!!
Oh Bridgett, I’ve been waiting and hoping you would share all about your samplers and boy I was not disappointed… both you and your mama’s are amazing. And the finishing you shared is magnificent. The dyeing and frame change is perfect. Thank you so much. And your granddaughter is a beauty ❤
So inspirational!!! Loved seeing all of the samplers and your process. It has my wheels turning for sure. You are definitely a pro. Thanks for sharing, this video was awesome 😊
Bridgett, this video was so informative. I didn’t realize that I needed to put salt in my tea stain solution. You and your mom have some beautiful samplers. I use to be an avid cross-stitcher but had kinda laid it to the side for awhile. You’ve made me want to pick it back up again. Thanks so much! I enjoy your videos so much. You are such a down to earth person and of course I love your way of decorating!
Beautiful samplers. Thank you for doing this video. I cross stitch but follow a pattern. Your coffee/tea dyeing was very helpful too. Once again a great video.
Love all your videos & this one is extra special❤️! How nice to hear the stories & how you & your mom make them your own. Thank you for the stain & framing video. I look forward to trying it. Would love to see you & mom making corn husk wreaths😊!
I absolutely loved this video! Your samplers make my heart melt!! I’ve been stitching for 45 years and the last 10 years have fallen in love with the simple marking samplers. I wish you would make patterns for yours! It’s so difficult to find this style!
Such beautiful samplers! I love doing them but my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I do stitch more in the winter when I don't have yard work to do. Just amazing work!❤
Wow, do you & your mom have a collection! I’m a daily stitcher & love my samplers! Lots of fun to watch you prim up that one piece. Christy had mentioned you in 1 of her videos & I’m so thankful she did! Truly enjoying your videos❤️
Love all of your samplers-so pretty. Enjoyed seeing your technique of aging samplers. I also cross stitch and have done some primitive stitching which I need to age. Thank you. Pam Miller in Alabama
Thanks for this lesson on framing stitcheries! I have some that have been sitting in my cedar chest that I need to get framed. I also have numerous Baltimore applique quilt blocks I have also been wanting to get framed up. My Gram taught this type of stitchery in her sunday school classes she taught somewhere around 1910 and she kept the blocks from a class I am guessing! If you or anyone else knows of some good directions on getting these framed I would really appreciate it! Thanks for taking the time to show us how to do this properly to make them look old!
O Bridgett I was so happy to see that you posted a video about your samplers! I am amazed that you can just create a sampler design as you go. I also love to stitch samplers, but definitely need a chart to follow! Every time I think you can’t possibly top your current video, the next is even more inspiring! Thank you for all you do for your viewing audience!
Love all of your decor! I too love primitive designs, and stitching. Coffee tea dyed really makes the finished project aged. I too burn fabric in the oven 😳. I now hang my tea dyed fabric on pants hangers n let them dry on my porch. Great to have found your videos again😊
Love all your videos, especially.... your home and your Mothers! ... You are easy to watch, with a warm, down home voice and style.. I look forward to each video you do...and your DIY projects. I made the bee skep...please keep visiting with us...love watching you decorate my style...🌻
Hi Bridgett! I can't tell you enough how mush I look forward to your videos...it's ike we're right there with you! Thank you for your tutorial on how you age/stain your samplers! and what beautiful collections both you and your momma have :) Keep up the great work, and looking forward to the next! ~ Prim Hugs, Lori from Notforgotten Farm
Hi Lori!! Thanks so much for leaving me this sweet and encouraging comment!! Your beautiful work and your amazing talent has always inspired me my friend!🥰❤️
Bridgett I just love your videos! I so enjoy meeting your family and friends. Your little granddaughter is so sweet! Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us! ❤️
Thank you Bridgett for sharing your samplers. You and your mom do beautiful work. Loved watching your aging fabric process, I will try your ironing it dry method. All of your videos are wonderful, and I love when you share the how to tips. Your granddaughter is a cutie.
Your samplers are beautiful! You and your mom are so talented. I think your iron is great! I've never found a steam iron that didn't spit out dark water periodically, and ruin what I was ironing. Had to rewash the items.
Thank you Bridgett for showing off your samplers and your mother’s as well. I appreciate you taking the time to walk us through how you age the sampler. What a great find you found at that yard sale. Always enjoy each of your videos ❤ see ya next time
Long time stitcher here, probably close to 60 years! Samplers are my favorite thing to stitch and I recently started adding family names too. I age mine too but didn't know about adding salt, so I will next time. Your finished sampler is gorgeous as are ALL of yours and your Mom's! Bonnie May is absolutely adorable ❤️
So lovely to find your channel - I love your gorgeous samplers ❤ you and your momma do beautiful work ❤❤ I'm a primitive stitcher quilter so I appreciate the work that goes into each and every piece ❤🙌❤
Thanks for the tutorial. Awesome samplers..... you know you could sell the patterns as PDF downloads. Daisey K is the one who steared me to you.... glad she did.
Thank you so much for this inspiring video! Samplers are my favorite thing to stitch and I’ve made quite a few small ones (from patterns- I’m not nearly as talented as you!). I am definitely going to use your techniques for aging and am going to start with some minis that I made over 30 years ago. And your simple framing instructions are just great! I’ve been enjoying all of your videos so much! I haven’t read all of the comments yet but I sure would love to buy patterns if you sell them!!
Oh that was wonderful! I love that your mom had one upside down… that’s something I would do and my adult children would poke fun at me for the rest of my life.🤪 You don’t give yourself enough credit. It’s really not as easy as you make it look. Thank you so much!🌷
You and your do such beautiful work . I love the story of the burned corner. I would have been panicking and freaked out. I'm sure there were some that actually caught on fire back in the 1800's. Bonnie Mae is adorable .
Looks great! I have a cross stitch, some cobalt crocks and a couple red ware and couldn’t figure out which direction to go with continuing in my collecting. I think I know now!
Thanks so much for sharing. Absolutely beautiful work! Samplers have my heart. You and your mom are certainly talented. How wonderful that you both enjoy stitching~ ♥️
Thank you for your inspirational episode. Your work is so authentic . I found your channel through Daisy Kays Kristie and am so happy I did. You have to be so brave to plop that beautiful red house in the boiling brew. Amazing results!

Thank you for being so down to earth and so friendly. it’s like sitting in the home of a good friend when I watch your videos!
I have stitched so many samplers mostly for gifts and use the same steps for aging. Yours and your Mother’s samplers are absolutely gorgeous.Wonderful video and such a sweet granddaughter!! God bless.

Oh wow! It’s so nice to meet you and I’m happy to have you as part of my UA-cam friends!! Sounds like we love the same things and we’re not too far apart!❤️
@@bridgettsprimitvepassion Just watched the Hulaco home tour. She’s about 45 minutes from us here in Decatur. In fact I wonder if I’ve been there. Thanks for showing us all those lovely Samplers, and especially loved learning how to frame one. Doesn't look as scary as I thought, but putting that beautiful piece in the dyeing pot was very scary and then pressing it even more, but it sure did come out Beautiful! Appreciate the video!
I treasure the one I got from you even more !! I would love to have a wall full of yours !! You and Betty are sooo talented !! Love the story of the burnt sampler and of your daughter who sewed the fabric to her jeans !!!! Your granddaughter is so cute !! Ann
