    I’m here in 2022, and his impact on the game is still on display. Kobe, Jayson Tatum, and Devin Booker use this move consistently. Mike passes it to Kobe who then gives it to Tatum and D. Book. People don’t talk about this part of the game enough as most are enamored with stats and analytics for the purpose of debate.
    No disrespect to this channel, but there is a breakdown series on UA-cam that breaks down Jordan and his moves. What made him great is just about all of his moves looked the same to start, but he had counters that put him in his spots to get what he wanted. You can still see his imprint on the game and he wasn’t played on over 20 years and in his prime longer than that. That’s why he’s the GOAT.

    i wonder if there are any crazy bball fans who would try to go back to the existing footages to find the stats of jordan's accuracy on this type of shot. my guessitimate is that it is pretty close to 50%, if not more, throughout his entire career. i say it because if half of your shots would go in, the defender would usually go for the fake. and that's the case for jordan. defenders had so much respect to jordan mid-range it made his pump fake so much more efficient. his huge hands also let him place the ball in the open spot with ease. and on top of everything, he understand what efficiency means when it comes to scoring. no need for 15 between the legs crossover when you can get open just using one dribble and a large stride. i agree that this type of shot is equally important in his arsenal as his fadeaway. one of the many reasons why he was so unguardable.

    • @ballislife9989

    Jordan=UNSTOPPABLE🐐. If God was a basketball player he would be MICHAEL JORDAN. I wish there WOULD BE, especially in my lifetime but, there will NEVER be another Michael Jordan or anyone better EVER in the game that we know now as basketball. Iverson, Kobe, LeBron, Shaq, and many others were all awesome in there own right. But nothing like MJ. He was just a marvel to see, and I'm just glad I had the chance to watch him throughout the prime of his career. Out of all the games I watched MJ play (and it was many, they were ALWAYS televised) I could count on my hands how many times I might have seen him miss his whole career. To be honest, I don't remember more than 2 or 3😐

    The use of handchecking is also a reason why MJ had to rely on that shot. MJ is hand checked in most of those possessions preventing him from driving. The lane is also congested so when he did beat his man a defender was there so he had to pull up. One of the main reasons players today don't use it as much is because they don't have to. No hand checking and open lanes give them more freedom to penetrate. Isolation that gives offensive players more freedom to dribble and dribble and dribble and thus breaking down their defender also makes the pull up a more obsolete move, realistically why need it?

    • @RLSmith-jt8qj
      @RLSmith-jt8qj 4 роки тому

      eventually someone is going to go under on a screen right in your path to the basket and try to run you into the heart of the defense. pull up would come in pretty clutch in that situation.
