I would really be grateful if you would make a video where you use the waves SuperRack Performer on a Presonus StudioLive Series III mixer to show how best one can reduce Latency.
Drew!!! You mention a suggestion real quick at 6:59. Can you please expound on how you would route a double patch for IEM? (Just for vocal) And it’s the routing that’s tripping me up, would you need to utilize User settings?
Set two channels to have the same physical input, but one of those channels gets routed the card and the other does not. The one that does not, that’s just for IEM, also has to be taken out of any mix that would be heard in the house. Double patching is also useful if you want different eq, compression, etc for FOH and iem.
Great videos man. Is there any way to do a virtual sound check through the xlive with superrack or is it impossible? I want to take it to my acoustic shows but I usually sound check by myself first
I have the same question. Have tried in vane to do this using Gig Performer 4. It seems to be a difficult task... It is great for live use though. Maybe the problem lies with the X32. ???
Is it possible to use the x-wsg card on X32 with Superrack performer? I'm planning to use maybe psp infinistrip for live-mixing, which promises very low latency as well. I don't want to spend the money on a waves server while already owning plug-ins i know and love. :D So can i use the x-wsg card to reduce the latency and still use native plug ins?
Thank you for the video. I have a question: I want to use Waves SuperRack with a regular usb interface as my mixing/processing board and send to FOH, should I use 192 kHz to have less latency?
I have a low CPU usage but still getting audio pops. What do I need to do to help get rid of these audio pops? I have tried changing buffer size and didn’t help.
I am having the same thoughts 🤔 If the processing is only affecting the final mix anyway you could just use Logic with a high powered computer and end up with the same result, except even better because you could do all your parallel routing/bus and master effects in Logic with no limitation.. and don't forget you can use 3rd party plugins too. I already use Logic for our broadcast mix and it has been very stable. I have some experimenting to do...
Hello drew as always amazing vids, so i was thinking to get a new laptop to used this waves superrack performer, what do u think about mac air m1 8gb ram ? or should i just go with windows laptops with bigger rams 16-32. (like the smoothness of macOS less bugs)
You are. He did it in another video. I think I figured out how. His multitrack recordings are on the SDs in the back of the board and he’s sending them out to superrack and back in
Will the clipping LEDs in the channels in this configuration still show me the clipping of the input signal (at preamps/AD)? Or how can I check if one input is clipping during the show as I only see the post Waves SG level on my meters in the channel?
Hi , thx for sharing on this topic. I would like to know what is your MacBook spec to run the waves superrack performer ? Did you measured how many total plug-ins can be drive by your MacBook while the cpu and memory utilizations are below 80%? Kindly help to advice . Thx a lot and many appreciated it.
Does the same amount of latency apply to a system with a waves sg card installed or is using a sg dsp with sg IO the only way to decrease latency? As an example, lets use the same setup you have but switch out the usb card for a waves sg card and add a waves sg switch, to connect to the computer. IIRC the waves sg card would make the x32 a sg IO, so would the latency decrease any?
Thank you for this video! I'd like to ask you if there's any difference in latency processing using super rack performer compared to the older super rack native? I have the native and I don't know if there's any difference to upgrade to performer.
@@figureskatingmanno it’s not. If you have a SoundGrid systems you’re adding a lot less latency. The waves wsg protocol is much faster compared to a usb Interface.
What happens if superrack performer crashes all of a sudden? Does it automatically pick up where it left off at the console or would you have to quickly reroute everything away from the card back to local as it is going to your computer?
If you insert it into the signal chain and Superrack Performer crashes, the mixer will not pass any audio. You need to quickly remove the inserts and/or get it rebooted ASAP. The silence seems like an eternity...
What is the difference between super rack performer and super rack native… because i already have and use super rack native and it looks exactly like this… as EXACTLY!
Yup! It’s the same program. Waves separated out SuperRack Performer and made it $99 rather than the $599 price tag of SuperRack having the two bundled.
Drew, How do you take the matrix pa mix and go to my inears and have the click to go there also with the click going to the main mix. I mix sound from the stage and a musician. I have click and direction that I don't want to go out front. I do want the maim mix out front in my ears. I know how to get the main mix, but not the click track too with out is going out front.
Use a prefader aux mix, don’t use the matrix for your in ears. If you really want the main mix, just copy that on your aux mix (and add click and cue track). If you really want the FOH mix in your ears though, then make a subgroup with your main mix and a subgroup with your click and cue, then send the subgroup with the FOH mix out one matrix and that same subgroup out another matrix along with the subgroup with click and cue on it. In this case, your LR is not used; instead the matrix is your new “master fader.” If you are set on using your LR, then send the cue and click to a subgroup, send your LR to one matrix, and send your LR to another matrix along with the cue/click subgroup. A prefader aux is going to be your straightest path to a good IEM mix.
Yes! SuperRack SoundGrid is less than 1ms added in comparison to the numbers in this video regarding SuperRack Performer. Check out my article on the X-WSG which has more info on SoundGrid latency: drewbrashler.com/2017/waves-x-wsg-latency/
Wow I Love these teachings on settings on the new console With the superRack performer latency.
thanks for posting this!!
You’re welcome!
Dude! This was exactly what I was wondering about concerning using SR. Thank you for clarifying! ❤

Thanks so much!
Thank you this was very helpful!!
You're welcome!
Is it possible to use super rack with XR-18??
Yes! Waves SuperRack Performer does work with the XR18. I’ll make a video soon about this. Thanks for the ask!
Would using the DN32-WSG for the I/O with native processing power (without a SoundGrid server) be less latent than using the stock USB card?
You cant use WSG card without actual Soundgrid Servers, but you can make your own Soundgrid server using abandoned PC with powerful CPU

Yeah I mean you would think since you can use the USB and card at the same time it would be possible, I tried everything and it isn't

Have you used Reaper DAW to achive the same as superrack performer but with the result that you can use any plugin?
DAW will always give you more latency, you can't have same latency with Reaper
Hi! Do you have any idea if it is possible to play recordings from the SD card and simultaneously use plug ins in real time via USB?
Qual a probabilidade de dar errado usando um i7 12g com 32gb de ram?

Ok but why should I use SuperRack rather than Logic Pro for example?
Até onde sei, o Sr. Pode fazer tbm... Até com o REAPER

Hey Drew, are you able to do a virtual sound check when using this super rack native
I'd like to know the same
Me too!

This is great but can you
please do a video of the same when using DANTE CARD with Midas M 32 for a live sound in church

esos tiempos de latencias son teóricos o se empléelo un software para hacer mediciones?

Hey Drew .. can you do a vid using the Flow 8 with waves

Is there a latency difference between a superrack performer setup and a waves server system?

Hey drew. Can you do both? Can the aux and the channel method be combined?
Yes you can I do it since they started using user input routing
I would love to see a video on a Presonus StudioLive 64S Series III. Great video BTW! Thank you!
does super rack record at all?
You could use a daw alongside the use of SuperRack to record on the same computer.
and how does ur computer feel about that ? also would 25.2 latency foh be ok ??? @@DrewBrashler
if u need to record logic would probably better thsn running two programs ???? or does s r p have somthing special
LiveProfessor has a way better latency!
really explain what are ur results same gear?
This same sh of midas big problem parts and service!!
