Cantwait4sundaY I know. He spent time in prison and I think that is where he became interested in acting. He was given some of the best lines in the series.
Cissy2cute He (Sirico) was a _person of interest_ in the murder of Christa Helm back in the late 70's. I find this particular case very fascinating and have been researching it for a few years now.
Imagine being Michael and watching your dad die and then you have to play the same character he stellarly embodied in the most important role of his life. I feel a lot for that boy, but I believe he does have the markings of a varsity athlete.
In my opinion, James Gandolfini's Tony is the best single acting performance I've ever seen. He simply _was_ that character. An absolutely stellar job in the greatest TV series I've personally witnessed. Just finished re-watching the entire run for the ninth time and loved every single minute of it all over again. Bravo to all involved, but extra special credit to the late, great Mr Gandolfini. It wouldn't have been the same without him. Legend.
David Chase told a funny story about the episode where they were going to film Paulie Gualtieri's apartment. They couldn't figure out what it would look like. So they asked Tony Sirico if they could come over to the apartment he was in while they filmed. He said sure. They walked in and knew instantly that this was exactly what Paulie's apartment would look like... if you remember the episode, Sirico goes over to a rack of what looks like a dozen pair of outwardly identical white leather loafers, selects one, then puts it back and selects a 'different' pair. Just perfect.
Cant get my head around the fact he was 38 in Season 1. So much younger than most of "the crew" but he oozed authority and menace. One of the greatest performances ever.
Antonino Manfredi I am currently watching The Sopranos again, beginning from episode one ... and seeing James on screen as Tony Soprano, larger than life ... wow, it's still so hard to wrap my head around the fact that he is gone.
+Tony Manfredi I never got to watch the show when I was younger but I suddenly decided to get it 2 weeks ago, I binged watched it all and now I am sad to find out james gandolfini is dead, I would've loved to meet him or see more of his work in the future :(
This is crazy. I just watched season 4 episode 10 yesterday. Chris yelled at Tony that Tony will die at 50 by heart attack because eating too much or something. In real life, James passed away at 52 by heart attack too. Damn...-_-
Just finished the sopranos. Before I thought better call Saul and breaking bad were the greatest shows of all time, boy was I wrong. Rest in peace the 🐐
I remember my parents being big fans of The Sopranos. My mom shed tears when she heard James Gandolfini died. Pure legend, great actor, and a great man. Also Tony Sirico is still in character

One of the greatest performances in television history. James was absolutely 99.9% Tony Soprano and made for the part. I can’t imagine anyone else. Superb casting.

still get goosebumps watching him on tv- hard to believe he is gone- loved by millions because he was definitely 'normal' rather than fame obsessed- now on my 4th watch of the Series
I gotta say that this still gets me. He was the first famous person that I actually felt bad about passing away. He was one that made you feel like you actually knew him when you watched him and I actually felt loss when he passed. Great actor and it was so sad the way he passed while taking his baby on vacation to spend quality time with him and really bond...at least he was with him in his last moments before he went to be with The Lord. My heart goes out to him.
I love how Bryan Cranston tweeted that without Tony Soprano there never would've been Walter White. Michael didn't really good in the role, and honored his dad, even if the film wasn't that good.
Yesterday I was watching the last movie he starred. I got really emotional thinking of that he died at 51. He was so young and seemed like a great guy. RIP

People comparing him and sopranos to breaking bad is fucking hilarious, and honestly a bit disrespectful- BB was awesome but it can’t hold a fucking candle to James and the sopranos, not by 100 fuckin miles .
Sudden heart attack huh? Well this is the reason why you should workout! After season 5 of the Sopranos James is getting way too fat, its the shame that we lost him R.I.P.
QueenCersei Lannister me too! No one like him! Such a profound loss for his family, friends & fans! There will never be anyone like him. A true “legacy “with role he played but a very humble & loving man, regardless of his fame!

And on this day, they lost family again. Rest in peace Tony Sirico. God bless his soul.

He is a wise guy after all
In the reunion video from 2019, you can see him make the exact same small finger / index finger gesture from the show.
