RULES:
1) Perfect Stealth / No Kills / No Combat Alerts.
2) NO TRACES bonus requires:
- No CQC (hold-ups are allowed)
- No direct physical contact with enemies, like kicking or bumping into someone
- No weapons or bionic arm attacks
- No support weapons, including empty magazines
- No attacks from buddies
- No rank-restricting equipment, like active camo
- No supply or vehicle drops [Quiet calls in several supply drops automatically, making it impossible to get No Traces on this mission]
3) EQUIPMENT:
- Enemies have maximum level of preparedness against covert actions
- All enemy equipment is left intact (mines, cameras, helmets, etc.)
- My own equipment is fully upgraded with all bionic arm upgrades unlocked.

Ep.45 A Prenatual Exit

*MISSION NOTES*
My initial plan to beat this mission wearing nothing but camo pants and bandanna didn't work out. It **is** possible to do it this way but it relies heavily on luck and it's not as clean as I would've liked. My first attempt required 5 or 6 checkpoint restarts and had me take 50+ hits. I could probably do it without dying after a few dozens of mission restarts, but I don't see how to do it without getting hit. There are several snipers overlooking the middle of the area and they can see you easily from 150 meters away while you extract the vehicles. Even if you avoid their shots, they would alert other enemies to your position.

So I went with the parasite suit. One strategy here is to use armor parasites and simply run from vehicle to vehicle without trying to hide from enemies. You can find a few walkthroughs on UA-cam showing this approach.
Getting shot while armor is active does not count as a "hit", so if you keep it on at all times you should be able to complete the mission with 0 hits. That's one method. I wanted to do it the proper way, i.e. without ever getting shot at, so armor parasites weren't an option.
I used mist parasites, which limit the vision of both vehicles and human soldiers to 15 meters and provide the option to do this mission stealthily (more or less). The enemy AI in this mission remains in combat mode indefinitely until you deal with all targets. If they can't see you, enemies will try to attack your last known position. I let the tank see me once at 0:23 but after that I remained undetected until the very end -- as you may notice, all soldiers and vehicles look in the same direction throughout the whole video. With the mist active, it's only a matter of letting the vehicles arrive at their destination and extracting them when there are no soldiers around.

The strategy I used should be 100% compatible with No Traces (I ordered Quiet to attack the gunship, but I don't think it cancels No Traces because it didn't count as neutralization). However, I didn't earn the bonus thanks to the automated supply drops that Quiet calls in after every 3rd vehicle you destroy or extract. I tried lots of different things hoping to stop Quiet from doing that, but none of them worked.
I tried:
- Transferring all personnel from Support Unit to other units. When you have 0 people in your Support Unit it should disable all its functions, including the ability to manually call in the supply drops. Quiet didn't care.
- Calling in the chopper (as a pick up) to the LZ south of the Palace and letting it deal with enemies on its own. Depending on your luck, it takes 7-10 choppers to destroy the targets. Again, Quiet didn't care and still called in the drops as usual, even though I stayed in one place and didn't extract or destroy a single vehicle.
- Ordering Quiet to fire at a vehicle right before extracting it, so that the enemies would detect and attack her. When she takes enough damage (~15% of her health) she relocates to another sniping point. I hoped that she wouldn't try to call in supplies while moving between positions, but it didn't change anything. As soon as I would extract the vehicle, Quiet would instantly forget about whatever she was doing and go to call in the supply drop.
I guess the designers really didn't want the player to earn No Traces on this mission -- or simply didn't bother to make Quiet adapt to player's actions. Unless there is some glitch that would force Quiet to stay in one place, I don't see how it would be possible to get No Traces here.
+prenatual I called D-Walker immediately before triggering the cutscene that starts the mission at Lamar Khaate Palace- I placed the drop point behind the building, and it removed her right at the start, a notification pops up that says "Fame Decreased - 10".

I guess, the mission is No-Traceable after all.
Yeah, I was surprised myself. I was trying to figure out a way to glitch into keeping Quiet, but ended up coming across that instead.

But the rules you laid out in your video description read "No attacks from buddies", so I guess merely ordering Quiet to fire is enough to negate No Traces, right?
+Saruman38 I should have specified that it means "No attacks from buddies *against human enemies*".
I haven't tested it properly, but I don't think the game cares when Quiet or you attack vehicles. If you watch my video for mission 41, I destroyed the gunship there myself and it didn't cancel No Traces. I just can't use Quiet as a buddy anymore on other missions, so I can't check whether it's also true for her or not.
In any case, if I'm wrong about this, you can always call in the helicopter to the LZ as a pick up and let it deal with the gunship. I know for sure that it doesn't make you lose No Traces.

I highly enjoyed your walk throughs since Deus Ex and how impossible the no kill no aug challenge was, on the level of dedication and patience you have as well for you, to be seemingly able to be a ghost's shadow. But it seems you too, will have to be a shadow among the stealth community.

I just remembered how I used to watch your channel obsessively while I was in college hoping to play these stealth games on my crap laptop. I'm just grateful i have these to look back to. I only just realised that this was a mission. I never deployed with quiet as I went non-lethal from the start, and as a result, I never unlocked this mission. I'm deploying now with quiet to try and unlock this mission. Almost 300 hours in and still finding new things about this game.

I really liked to watch them and it was exciting to see how you found absolutley brilliant solutions. You helped me getting the achievement for the Missing Link for example when you showed how to save the people from the gas bomb by using the fire extinguisher.
Furthermore these videos were quite entertaining, even if I wondered how many hours you put into them, how old you are and why you do it... besides the feeling of achieving perfection of course...

Yeah, this is very late answer, but... you rank restricted with parasite suit only if you use armor or camo parasite.
FILO Savage Entertainment perhaps its only if you use the stealth parasites as enemies can still see you when you use mist and armor. but you do raise a good question

It’s funny to think that this could canonically be the way Venom Snake completed this mission because there are no cheats used.
